The tour with Destination Services was great! Ysmail was very knowledgeable and patient to explain everything. Victor was very helpful with the luggages and made sure that the bus is clean. Hotel accommodations were nicely picked as well. The only thing I was not expecting was the 2 days that we were left on our own to go back to the hotel due to extra activities that we did not participate. Other than that, all great experience!

Overall, we had a very nice trip. The itinerary is arranged well and includes good recommendations for places to stop and points of interest to visit. The hotels are all owned by the same company called Vila Gale, and are all about what I expected for the price point � nice and comfortable with basic rooms � the one outlier was the Vila Gale Collection Alter Real, which was stunning! We had a very nice trip to Portugal overall.

Do you like gravel or MTB bike riding? Then this is the trip for you. Do you only like road bike riding? This isn’t the trip for you.
While there are sections on smooth backroads and bike paths, there are many sections on cobblestones, single track, forest trails, lumpy, bumpy and rocky paths. Some of these trails will be too steep or too rocky to ride and you will need to push your bike up these sections. There will also be times (mostly on day 1), where you will need to carry your bike up and down the stairs of flyovers of railway line crossings. There will also be times where the gps/Camino trail takes you down one way streets. There will also be a few times when the gps track differs from the Camino trail markers - we defaulted to following the Camino trail markers.
The challenge is worth it. Experiencing different scenery, visiting interesting towns, meeting walkers (we didn’t meet any other riders).

Walk the quieter trails between historical Coimbra and Porto on stage two of the Camino Portugués. The second stage of our self guided walking route along the Portuguese Camino between Lisbon and Santiago takes you from the historic and lively university city of Coimbra through vineyards, woodlands and villages to Porto, set on the banks of the Douro River and famous for its port wine production. Throughout the walk there are ample reminders of past pilgrims and the route offers many insights into the religious significance of the Camino. We had a great time! The hotels picked for us were so great. The breakfast must have been awesome because when i came home weighed the same as when i left and we walked lots. The location of the hotels put us in the middle of the best areas. Very helpful with all our needs. Would book with them again.
