Northern Europe Trekking and Hiking Tour Reviews

Excellent tour leader and local guides on the trail, which really made the holiday. A very good mixture of walking and visiting towns to give a varied experience of Japan. Some hotel rooms are small and feel cramped, and three nights on a traditional futon on the floor using the Ibsen for showers was challenging. Although the walks are relatively short, the combination of humidity, climbs and irregular steps makes them harder than you would imagine from the distances. However everyone in our group was well prepared and enjoyed the pilgrimage. Overall, our highly organised tour leader, David Lam, and local guides on the pilgrimage, Jennifer and Tad, really made the trip.

Amazing trip!

Just returned from walking the highlights of Mount Blanc! There was a variety of hikes and all had great views. Our guide and chalet hosts were very knowledgeable and made us feel very welcome!

This trip exceeded my expectations, probably helped by the glorious week of autumn sunshine, showcasing the best of Lake Como. The hotel is excellent with very attentive staff and the location is stunning with glorious views from my bedroom balcony across the northern lake. Gravedonna is a laid back lake shore town with a more local vibe than some its more famous neighbours, like Bellagio and Varenna, so a superb base for Como exploration. Our guide (Kristians) was top-class, very caring and informative and a pleasure to travel with. The walks are very scenic with spectacular views across the Lake. The walking is possibly a little 'tame' for the trip grade, but hugely enjoyable all the same. The use of public transport is excellent and travelling by local buses and boats really added to the experience.

We really enjoyed our trip. All information was clear so didn't have any questions. Walks not very hard. Amazing views. Decent hotels. Clean. We left in the morning and came back in the evening. Hotel in Agerolo was lovely. Public transport was very confusing in Amalfi. No clear information where the bus stops. We had to to push to get on the bus with the third attempt. Nearly missed stop in Pompey as all windows were in white dots and could not see passing stations. No screen or announcement. Use Google Map. We met lots of tourists from around the world in towns and had interesting conversations. I wish we had more time in Pompei and regret that we didn't hire a guide. The trip was a good combination of nature, history, cuisine, culture and people. I have to say in the last stay in B&B in Naples the receptionist Italian lady was wonderful. She didn't speak English so we used Google translate and it was an interesting experience. She hugged and kissed us as we were her best nephews. Such a lovely lady. It was interesting to talk with Antonio in Agerolo hotel. Great experience. Love Italy.

DISCOVER THE BALTICS

Baltis is a gem!!!! 3 countries in 12 days with fairytale old towns, culture, the music soul of the people, these countries have rich cultural traditions, centuries old folklore, song festivals of voices and UNESCO listed historic centers. All the medieval towers and coloful facades walking through them feel likes stepping back in time. Baltics offer untouched landscapes perfect for breathing fresh air from endless pine forest and serene lakes to the largest sand dune in Europe, the Curonian Spit.

We were blessed with sunny weather and as it was towards the end of the main tourist season the roads. paths and ferries were not as busy. The walks were varied and as it was autumn the colours in the woods we walked through were stunning. We saw a lot of the local area from a variety of view points sometimes using a coach, bus or ferry to get to the starts of our walks. The leader Kristians Lunins was excellent, very professional. thorough, aware of the groups needs and responded to them. He kept us informed as to what was happening when and where, what we needed to take etc. Kristians was also great company. He made it be lovely memorable holiday to look back on in the winter months.
