Northern Europe Cultural, religious historic sites Trips

This was an excellent itinerary. The south coast of France is beautiful and we loved visiting the seaside towns, plus we went inland to places like Arles, Avignon, Aix, and the Pont Du Gard. We loved the hillside towns of Carcassonne, St. Emilion and Les Baux. The Citroen car ride was very fun and we loved the market at Lourmarin. So much good food and wine! The walking tours were informative and showed us all the best parts. The farewell dinner in the Eiffel Tower was wonderful. Our tour director Alison Judge and driver Pascal were outstanding. We highly recommend this tour!

Excellent, hit all the right spots. First walking tour of old Nice was depressing. Two nights minimum in hotels was great, gave time to breathe. Loved the Chateau, the 2cv cars, the boat rides. Would have been nice to learn to play pétanque.

Hits a lot of highlights for anyone visiting Italy for the first time. We felt that there were too many “optional” itinerary items at additional cost. Overall a nice balance of planned itinerary and free time availability.

Extremely immersive experience. My only criticism is that many of the hotels did not have proper standing showers only bathtubs with handheld nozzles, and we expected a walk-in shower with a permanently fixed shower nozzle, from a land tour that theoretically should be putting us up in four star and five star accommodations.

A wonderful tour of the main sights of Sicily (and there are a lot!). It's an amazing place to visit. Hotels really well located. Antonio is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, coupled with huge enthusiasm and great organisational skills. Perfect choices of restaurants for group meals. We have travelled with Explore for many years and all tour leaders have been excellent, but he is certainly one of the best we have ever had. It's a particular bonus that he is the tour guide everywhere as well as the tour leader.

It was an area of the world I had always wanted to explore and it lived up to expectations. In part to our excellent Tour leader Alex, who was very knowlegeable and companionable. As well as the stunning landscape, history, architecture, food, I could go on! Another benefit was being in such a small group, meant we could all gel together and not have to fight for the leaders attention. Not forgetting the the skill of the driver Edward, ensuring we all arrived safely!
