Reviews of our Brazil Tours for Senior Citizens
Our senior travelers love their Brazil journeys — here's what they say.
This was a full-on tour covering a huge part of Brazil, and although you by no means see the whole country this trip is a great taster and feels like you're getting deeply into different diverse regions and not just skimming the surface. The busy beaches and spectacular sites of Rio are as promised but a real surprise was the huge inner city rainforest park at Tijuca, just beautiful and a real oasis within the madness. South onto Paraty: a unique combination of preserved 17th-century Portuguese colonial architecture, vibrant culture, and natural surroundings. It is a UNESCO-listed site known for its charming cobblestone pedestrian streets, lively nightlife, boat trips to local islands, and exquisite local dining. There followed an early rise and drive to Sao Paolo to fly to Iguacu. Of couse the Falls didn't disappoint and for me fulfilled a long ambition to visit. We were told it was relatively quiet but still felt very crowded. But in the heat and spray there was no rush, and watching all the selfie-takers provides its own entertainment! Another flight to Manaus led us into the hot, humid rainforest Amazon region by boat, and a small lodge run by local people. They looked after and fed us well, and it provided a base for several boat trips and forest walks at day and night. It feels remote and peaceful and allows plenty of time for spotting wildlife in beautiful natural surroundings.
One of the most exciting and interesting holidays I have had out of my 200 plus overseas adventures. It was non stop for the full duration of the holiday partly because we visited 4 very different areas of Brazil substantial distances apart which required early mornings and long journeys.
Unlike the dense Amazon rainforest, the Pantanal is more open and flat, making wildlife easier to spot. Over 650 bird species, including hyacinth macaws, Toco Toucans, Greater Rhea, jabiru storks. Jaguars (we saw Three!) We also saw Capybaras, giant river otters, caimans, tapirs, Coati, Howler and Capuchin Monkeys, Azara's agouti, tamandua, Crab eating fox to name a few!
Thank you so much for a perfect honey moon trip. A unique place in the world, colourfull, warm and with nature in the center. The hotel is located in the middle of the jungle, very comfortable and with very kind people ready to solve our needs. All transfers in time, and, again, very kind people to guide us to enjoy every part of the visits. 100% reccomend!
The Iguazu falls are so big and spectacular!!!! Hot weather, so many different greens and a blue sky. The hotel fades with the nature. It is located into the nature reserve, and it is very relaxing, including massages services. Very much recomended!
This trip delivered in bucket loads. There was wildlife everywhere we looked. Copious capybara and caiman. Three fantastic sightings of jaguar (a mother and two cubs and two solitary jaguar) and three amazing sightings of giant otter groups. Birds everywhere including imperious jabiru storks, kingfishers, herons, hawks and jacana. And it was great to be in a remote location on the Paraguay River. Apart from the odd fisherman in small boats, there was only our boat and one other from the lodge on the water. Most of the time we had the river to ourselves. The second lodge is a little busier and not quite so remote, but we still saw lots of wildlife including tapir, collared peccary, crab-eating foxes and a stunning southern tamandua.
