Very well organised trip, to a beautiful part of the world. Suitable for those who love natural beauty, remoteness, lots of trekking and a cool climate. we were lucky with the weather but be prepared for rain and wind.

AMAZING

We just returned from a 5-week trip to South America. The team was AMAZING. They helped us plan a very complex itinerary that included multiple cities in Chile and Peru, a side-trip to Easter Island, Machu Picchu and the sacred valley, and finally Iguazu Falls in Argentina and Peru. The advice they gave and the hotels they chose were truly exceptional. The detailed day-by-day itinerary was very helpful, and all of their in-country partners (e.g., drivers, tour guides) were terrific. Everything went perfectly. Best travel experience ever! Thank you, Analia and Antonella!!!

A diverse and fascinating trip covering fjords, big sky steppes, vast glaciers and hikes through the best of the national parks. A fascinating region full of wildlife spotting opportunities. Weather can be four seasons in a day so do follow that packing list.We used everything!

This was an excellent trip, very well organised by Explore and the local company, with a superb leader in Andres and a great group of travellers. We were fortunate to have dry weather almost all the time. Highlights included the walk around Buenos Aires; the dramatic flight along the Beagle Channel to land in Ushuaia; Estancia Haberton and the penguins; overland travel with sightings of guanacos, condors, pampas and treescapes; the amazing long-distance views to the Torres del Paine massif and Mt Fitz Roy; the long challenging walks in the mountains; plus the walks both sides of the river at Iguazu Falls. Oh, and excellent food, beer and wine and charming people in Argentina and Chile.

A brilliant trip covering many highlights. Our top 6 would be walking with Penguins near Ushuaia, Hike to Torres base, Boat trip on Serrano river, walking along Perito Merino glacier, hike to Fitzroy base, Iguazu boat ride. Bear in mind that all except Fitzroy are add on extras costing around £1000 in total ( Perito Moreno is an exorbitant £400). The boat trip to lago del desierto is not available despite being shown as such in the trip notes. It was a strenuous trip with long bus and minibus journeys as advertised. We had a great group and Andres our guide was excellent. It is worth taking lots of dollars and exchanging at the blue rate on the street which is around 20 percent better than the official rate and 10 percent better than credit card rate. It was the best of our 6 Explore trips.

Fantastic trip, one of the best I have been on. Beautiful country, amazing landscapes, lovely friendly people. Plus we had a fun group and an excellent guide, Marcelo. And we were lucky with the weather too. Yes, it’s expensive but worth it. Spend the extra to do the optional activities to make the most of it. Loved the walking with penguins, the zodiac trip on Rio Serrano and both the big walks. The days are very long but you can always sleep on the bus/back at home! Contrary to previous reviews I thought the hotels were all fine and the breakfasts were great and a good start to each day. The tango show we went to was in a small venue and great. Wish I’d added more time in Buenos Aires before the trip as it’s a lovely city and there’s a lot to see and do there - I will be back.
