Is a senior tour in Argentina right for you?

You want Buenos Aires to feel cultured, not rushed

Buenos Aires deserves more than a quick two-night stop. A strong senior itinerary gives you time for Recoleta Cemetery, Teatro Colón, MALBA, Palermo’s cafés, La Boca, and a seated tango dinner instead of a rushed show squeezed in after dinner. Staying in Recoleta or Palermo also keeps the city easier to enjoy on foot, with better hotels, safer evening walks, and less time lost in traffic.

You want Argentina’s long distances handled by flights

Argentina is far too large for comfortable overland touring. Buenos Aires to Iguazú takes about 2 hours by plane compared with around 18 hours by bus, while Buenos Aires to El Calafate is just over 3 hours by air. Senior tours usually fly the long legs and use private vehicles locally in places like Mendoza, Iguazú, and Patagonia, saving your energy for the actual experiences.

You want Iguazú Falls paced properly on both sides

Iguazú is best seen from both Argentina and Brazil, but the visit needs careful pacing for older travelers. Senior tours make it easier by spreading the experience over two days, using the park train on the Argentine side, allowing extra time on the walkways, and choosing routes with fewer steps where possible. On the Brazilian side, elevator access near the main viewpoint and private transfers reduce unnecessary walking. Border crossings, timed entries, and rest stops are handled in advance, so the falls feel awe-inspiring, not exhausting.

You want real variety without exhausting transfers

Argentina tours for seniors work best when they connect the country’s big contrasts sensibly: Buenos Aires culture, Mendoza’s wine region, Iguazú Falls, El Calafate, Ushuaia, and Patagonia. Bookmundi’s senior Argentina tours highlight this mix of Buenos Aires, Mendoza, Iguazú, Ushuaia, and El Calafate with comfort, accessible accommodation, transport, and a leisurely pace built in. That range is the reward; the planning is what keeps it enjoyable.

Reviews of our Argentina Tours for Senior Citizens

Our senior travelers love their Argentina journeys — here's what they say.

Itinerary: while the tour was rated as "full on", we discussed on a number of occasions that we all had expected - and hoped for - more physical activities and serious hikes rather than leisurely strolls and a lot of hop-on, hop-off as there would have been time for that in the itinerary. It was also confirmed that normally, guests are older and it would make sense to manage expectations in that regard. Explore Leader: as we had the privilege to only be a group of 4, we often felt to be over-chaperoned with a tour leader, a local guide and a driver which was a ratio of 3:4 which probably makes sense for bigger groups. While it is nice to have a knowledgeable tour leader for the entire trip, there really was very little for him to do on most days other than time management, room allocations, splitting restaurant bills or liaising with HQ for queries as the local guides did all the site seeing. It often felt we were five guests, not four. Accommodation: No complaints, comfortable and adequate. Of course, being a single traveller who was willing to share but then got a room to myself as there was no-one to share with, I was very lucky and did not expect premium rooms.

This is a great trip to see a variety of unique environments and to learn about the history of these areas. Andres is an excellent tour guide and leader. As the itinerary is so packed there is limited time for hiking or more strenuous activity. Definitely recommend this trip.

I would recommend optional bird park visit and tango show in Buenos Aires.

This is a great introduction to Argentina and Brazil with the falls providing the link between the two. We had a great group, decent hotels, good transport and a superb tour leader who looked after us very well going above and beyond. Thank you Diego. We had ‘mega days’ in BA, at the Falls and in Rio. Paraty and Ilhe Grande provided something different and some relaxation in between. The trip itself is relatively short and several of us added extra days at the beginning and/or at the end. We added a couple of days at the beginning to enable us to go out of BA to visit a ranch and to take a day trip across the River Plate to Colonia in Uruguay. At the end we added more time in Rio and to see a little more of Brazil. We thoroughly enjoyed the tango show and one of us did the falls boat trip which was quite an experience! We also worked out the key things we wanted to see in our free time in BA Uber made this easy. This was a great trip, made very easy by Diego’s organisation, the tipping kitty and fun group meals or restaurant recommendations. A superb tour way to visit two countries.

The 3 hotels worked for us. We hate it when we have to pack/repack to often. Our party of 4 like the itinerary also. Our TD mentioned plenty of stuff to do with our free time too. Loved amount of free time also.
