A big thank to our guide Samda and the team (especially Ram who fed us well) and provided us with an excellent cultural and trekking experience. Samda's knowledge of Tibetan culture and the history of the monasteries provided a complete background to the history and culture of Mustang and its relationship to Tibet. Being present for the three crowded days festival was special and a complete juxtaposition to the following days trek through the stark and beautiful landscape of Mustang. We were treated to vistas of the distant snow capped mountains, alpine flowers up high, sheep and goat herders and even managed to find fossils left behind in the ancient raised seabeds pushed up with the Himalaya range. Thank you.
Very enjoyable, good paced trek. Wonderful exposure to Tibetan culture. Samde and his crew did a great job. Would highly recommend to anyone who wants to see a very different Nepal.
The trip was well organised. The Leader Samde Sherpa and his team were fantastic. They went out of their way to look after us. The scenery was stunning throughout. Mustang is fascinating overall.
A superb leader and team led us into the stunning geology and fascinating cultural history of the Mustang, Nepal. Unfortunately the late Monsoon's inclement weather, necessitated a change in the latter half of our trekking plan, reducing our walking days.
The tour of Mustang was excellent with a fantastic Sirdar, Samde and the great team, support crew. The itinerary could not be followed totally because of a big rain event (17 hours continuous) which destroyed roads and caused flooding. It was great that the crew kept as happy as they did despite at times not knowing how their families were in the Kathamndu Valley. The walks were an amazing mix of painted, pastel landscapes, with distant views of the snowy Himalaya peaks, monasteries and chortens slowly dissolving back into the landscape. There were some very remote camp sites that very few tourists will ever see and walks up to near the Tibetan border where you could see Chinese border tower. One of the great attractions was to see the local people herding sheep and goats, threshing grain, cutting Buckwheat and foraging for winter animal feed before the first snows. The Villages and monasteries of Kagbeni, Chusang and Lo Mantang were exceptional. New road building to the Chinese border have changed the economy of the region and especially young people are drifting away to the cities and abroad. Travellers need to catch this former kingdom while they can!
Just back from an amazing trip into Nepal’s Kingdom of Mustang with Samde and his marvellous crew. Samde is a great guide and full of knowledge. He led us places that few others get to and was always patient in his explanations of the people, the culture and the land. As always the World Ex crew took great care of us. They fed us amazing food and looked after our needs. The entire crew including the horses were great to travel with. If you are looking for a remote part of Nepal with very few tourists, amazing scenes and some good trekking thrown in you should consider this trip.

The trip was superb! Thank you to everyone who made it so enjoyable. Our guide Samde was excellent, and the other guides, cooking staff and pony men were all so kind and super competent. The landscapes were amazing, as were the monasteries and villages.
