For thrill-seekers and mountaineering enthusiasts, the "Mera Peak 6470m" climbing trek in Nepal’s Sagarmatha National Park offers a short yet highly adventurous climbing trip. Over 14 days, you’ll journey from Kathmandu through traditional villages of the Sherpa, Rai, Magar, and Gurung communities, traversing terraced fields and glacial rivers on your way to Khare, the final settlement before the ascent. Guided by experienced mountain experts, you’ll tackle the snow-capped heights of Mera Peak—standing at an impressive 6,476 meters. This tour uniquely combines technical climbing with cultural immersion, making it ideal for both young adults and seniors seeking a physically demanding, rewarding peak experience in the heart of the Himalayas.

day 1 - Kathmandu – Lukla (2840m)

We will take a 45 min flight from Kathmandu to Lukla with superb mountain views. After landing at Lukla, the land of the Sherpa, we will start our trek to Paiya.

Duration:6 hours

day 2 - Paiya (2730m) – Pangom (2846m)

After breakfast, we start our trek to Pangom walking uphill and downhill through the Sherpa villages. We can find a Buddist monastery in Pangom.

day 3 - Pangom – Ramete Danda (3000m) /Ningsow (2863m)

We will hike for a total of 6 hours today to reach our destination to Danda or Yingsa. Our hike will be uphill and downhill. After reaching Shibuche, we can explore a Sherpa museum, where we can see all the equipment used by Sherpa people in their daily life.

Mera peak, which is our final destination, can be viewed from this stop.

day 4 - Ramete Danda - Chatra Khola (2800m)

Today we will walk through the jungle, passing bamboo forests, different types of Rhododendron, and pine trees. If we are lucky, you might see a wild animal!

We have to hike uphill and downhill before our overnight stay at Chhatra Khola.

day 5 - Chatara Khola – Kothe (3691m)

We will have a similar route as our previous day. Walk through the green jungle of bamboo trees, see the Nepali national flowers (Rhododendron) and watch for wild animals.

day 6 - Kothe - Thannak (4358m)

From this day, we will gradually climb up with an increase in altitude. We will see juniper bushes and snow-capped mountains like Khesar and Kusum kangaroo.

day 7 - Thanak - Khare (5045m)

Today will be challenging as we will gradually climb up. Overnight stay in Khare.

day 8 - Khare rest day

Exploration day to acclimatize and explore Khare. Today we will do a demo of climbing activities.

day 9 - Khare - high camp (5780m)

Today we will hike until the crampon point, where we will setup all the climbing gear. We will camp today in tents, and see many spectacular mountains views of Mt. Everest, Kanchenjunga, Makalu , Baruntse, Lhotse and Pumori.

day 10 - High camp - summit day (6470m)

Today, around 3:30 am, we will gear up to attempt to the Mera peak for about 7 hrs before heading back to High camp. Clean up high camp and return to Khare.

day 11 - Khare - Kothe (3600m)

We will descend the same way to Kothe.

day 12 - Kothe –Thulli Kharka (4300m)

We will walk 3 hrs approx on flat land and climb up to Thuli kharka for over 4 hrs approx and overnight.

day 13 - Tholli kharka – Lukla (2800m)

Climb uphill for one hour. After that, we will walk on flat land for another hour and then four hours to descend down to Lukla. From Chottrala pass, we can see the beautiful mountains.

day 14 - Lukla – Kathmandu

Fly back to Kathmandu.

Mera peak with Amphu Lapcha pass

I did Mera peak with Amphu Lapcha pass and had a great experience on the trek. Pasang Sherpa is an excellent guide with very good English and he helped me in all areas where I needed assistance, merging between the professional and personal touch. The tour plan was well organized, and included everything as promised including food and beverages, sleeping in teahouses and tents, all group gear, a well-trained porter, transportation and all needed permits. In addition, I was given a full Kathmandu and around tour. And all of that was for a fair and attractive price. I'm positively sure that when I come to Nepal for additional trekking this local travel expert will be my number one choice. "We had great time doing this Mera Peak Climbing Trek as this peak climbing trek is very much interesting with all the trails and way before climbing the Mera Peak. We were fully appetite by all the views of mountains,Himalayas,Flora and Fauna,Local people and culture during the trekking period on our way. We Experienced the goodness of nature as it provided us a new positive energy for the Mera Peak Summit, we encountered many local villagers on our way they very much welcoming and friendly to us. "I am very much satisfied with this Mera Peak Climbing trek as it is the combination of both trekking as climbing which will full fill the hunger of both trekking and climbing at a same time.I had a great time during this Mera Peak Climbing as i saw the beautiful animals with flora and fauna along the trial to summit and after the summit the view was breath taking with the views of many more other Himalayan ranges like: Mount Everest,Lhotse Sar, Barunche,Makalu,Kanchenjunga,Khesar,thamsherku,Kusum kangaroo, and so many other peaks.
