Itinerary
Island Peak, or Imja Tse, offers an exhilarating climbing trek in Nepal’s Everest region, designed for young adults and experienced travelers seeking moderate adventure with a touch of technical challenge. The journey begins with a scenic flight to Lukla, followed by a gradual ascent through Sherpa villages and the famed Everest Base Camp trail. After acclimatizing at Dingboche, prepare for the final summit push—tackling technical sections en route to Island Peak’s panoramic vantage point. Revel in extraordinary views of Nuptse, Lhotse, Makalu, and Ama Dablam before descending along the same route to Lukla and flying back to Kathmandu. day 1 - Arrive at Kathmandu Airport [1345m/4411ft]
Our representative will meet you at Tribhuwan International Airport upon arrival. You will be transferred to the hotel in Kathmandu city. Our staff will help you until the check-in procedure ends is complete.
You can either have a rest at the hotel or visit our office for gathering additional information about the trip. In the evening, please join our welcome dinner program.

day 2 - Free Day
On this day, we make initial preparations for the trip. This includes a meeting with your guide, checking necessary climbing equipment and a tour briefing as well.
Later in the evening, you will be provided with a Nepalese welcome dinner in our own style.
day 3 - Fly from Kathmandu to Lukla [2800m/9184m]
After having breakfast at the hotel, we will be transferred to the domestic airport for an early morning scenic flight to Lukla – the starting point of the trek.
Lukla is the gateway to Khumbu and entire Everest region. After landing at Lukla we will follow a gradual uphill trail, passing the left bank of the Dudh Koshi river. Soon our trail becomes a mixture of both uphill and downhill trekking as we head towards Phakding.

day 4 - Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar [3440m/11283ft]
Leaving Phakding, we will cross a small stream and start ascending until we reach Bengar. Our trail from there comprises of several ups and downs.
We will make a stop at the Sagarmatha National Park Service where the park entrance fee is collected. After registration at the National Park office, we will make a steep ascent to arrive at Namche Bazaar – The Capital of the Sherpas. We will spend one more day at Namche Bazaar for exploring and acclimatization.

day 5 - Acclimatization and Exploration day at Namche Bazaar.
By now, we are over 3000 meters above sea level. We will spend our day at Namche Bazaar discovering the Sherpa culture and exploring its busy market streets. It is worth trekking uphill to Sagarmatha National Park Museum and the combined villages of Khunde and Khumjung. The Sherpa Capital, Namche Bazaar, is an extensive market town where there is always something to see.

day 6 - Trek from Namche Bazaar to Tyangboche [3867m/12683ft]
After spending a full day rest at Namche Bazaar, we will follow the trail that climbs above Namche and Sagarmatha National Park Museum. Our trek continues on a rising trail towards Khyangjuma where there are couple of tea houses.
With magnificent view of Ama Dablam, we will descend on a stone paved trail to Phunke Tenga and begin our uphill trek through pine forests. From there, we will traverse across Tyangboche hill and climb a switchback to arrive at Tyangboche.

day 7 - Trek from Tyangboche to Dingboche [4260m/13972ft]
From Tyangboche, we will follow the trail that offers great views of Ama Dablam and Kantega as they appear on the other side. We continue our uphill trekking passing through Pangboche and its monastery. We will slowly climb towards a village and pass a big mani stupa.
From this point, our trek is fairly moderate as we head towards Dingboche for an overnight stay.

day 8 - Trek from Dingboche to Island Peak Base Camp
Leaving Dingboche, we will trek on a trail that gradually ascends towards Imja Valley. We will enjoy magnificent views of Ama Dablam, Lhotse, Nuptse , Island Peak and other surrounding high peaks along the way.
Our trek continues until we arrive at Island Peak Base Camp. We will set up our camp at the foot of Island Peak’s south ridge beneath the giant wall of Nuptse and Lhotse.

day 9 - Acclimatization and Exploration
By now we are above 5000 meters from the sea level. To avoid any kind of mental and physical stress, we will take a rest at the base camp before making the summit climb attempt of Island Peak.
Our Sherpa will check our condition to make sure that everyone is fit for the main summit climb, which is scheduled for the following day. They will also make necessary checks on climbing gears such as crampons, ice axes, harness and other equipments.

day 10 - Island Peak summit [6189m/20299ft] & Back to Base Camp
Today is the day we have been waiting for as we climb Island Peak to its summit. Fully equipped and properly acclimatized, we start early with the aim to reach the summit before noon. The strong winds, especially after midday, can really create obstacles in reaching the summit.
We will tackle several technical sections and head towards the summit. Once at the top we are rewarded with breathtaking views of Mt Lhotse. Mt Makalu, Lhotse Middle Peak, Lhotse Shar, Mt Nuptse, Mt Baruntse and other surrounding peaks.
We will spend some quality time at the top of Island Peak and then descend following the same route back to Base Camp.

day 11 - Trek from Island Peak Base Camp to Dingboche
After successfully conquering Island Peak, we take our time and retrace our footsteps, passing rocky trails which eventually heads back to Dingboche.

day 12 - Trek from Dingboche to Namche Bazaar
Leaving Dingboche, we continue our return trek on main EBC trail. Our trail continues with rather easy downhill trekking that passes along many chortens to arrive at Namche Bazaar.
After arriving Namche Bazaar, we will walk around the busy market streets of Namche Bazaar with great views of Kwangde, Thamserku and other snow topped mountains.

day 13 - Trek from Namche Bazaar to Lukla
The last day of our Island Peak Climbing tour takes us from Namche Bazaar to Lukla (via Monjo). We descent passing through a densely forested area. This is a rather pleasant walk, except for few short uphill climbs and then down to the Bhote- Koshi River crossing it three times.
After a while, a final uphill climb of approximately about 45 minutes will bring us back to Lukla.

day 14 - Fly from Lukla to Kathmandu
After having our breakfast, we will take an early morning scenic flight to Kathmandu.
After arriving at Kathmandu, you will be transferred to the hotel. You can either rest at the hotel or visit some of the UNESCO World Heritage sites that weren’t possible on the second day of the trip. Walking around the busy streets of Kathmandu can be worth your time.

day 15 - Transfer to International Airport for your final depart
