Itinerary

Escape the crowds and discover a quieter side of the Himalayas with the Gokyo Valley Trek. This journey is tailored for young adults and seasoned trekkers who crave pristine mountain scenery and a less-traveled path. The trek highlights include the shimmering Gokyo Lakes, the dramatic Fifth Lake, and panoramic views of giants like Everest, Cho Oyu, and Makalu—all visible from the vantage point of Gokyo Ri.

After a scenic flight to Lukla, you’ll trek alongside the Dudh Koshi River, passing through forests of pine, rhododendron, and magnolia. The route diverges from the main Everest trail at Namche Bazaar, leading you into the serene Gokyo Valley, where fluttering prayer flags and traditional Sherpa villages add cultural depth to your adventure.

This tour package stands out for its blend of natural beauty and tranquility, promising awe-inspiring landscapes and insights into Sherpa life. For those seeking an alternative Himalayan trekking experience, the Gokyo Valley Trek is a journey you won’t soon forget.

Gokyo Ri and Valley Trek

Great overall experience. Highlight was of course watching the sunrise over Mt. Everest after completing the somewhat grueling climb up Gokyo Ri. All worth it in the end!

Gokyo and Renjo La

I asked for a tailored trip to Gokyo and Gokyo Ri with a crossing of the Renjo La pass back to Namche. This is a spectacular trip that requires some serious effort and a good acclimatisation. The Renjo La crossing is quite a long day (it took me 14 hours to get from Gokyo to Lungden in the snow) but it was worth the effort. The views from the pass are spectacular. Gokyo is a less travelled trek than Everest BC, and the return over Renjo La is quite solitary, so you will be away from the teeming masses of trekkers. A much more relaxing trip in my opinion.
