Short on time but eager to witness the Himalayas up close? The Ghorepani Poon Hill Sunrise Trek is a 7-day guided adventure tailored for young adults and experienced trekkers craving panoramic mountain views without the long commitment of the Everest or Annapurna circuits.
Starting with a scenic drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara, you’ll begin your trek from Nayapul, journeying through charming villages to the iconic Ghorepani. The highlight comes with a sunrise ascent to Poon Hill (3,210m), where the entire Annapurna range glows in the morning light—perfect for unforgettable photos.
On your way back, unwind in the hot springs of Jhinu and return to Pokhara before heading back to Kathmandu. The tour’s unique selling point is its accessible yet dramatic trekking experience, complete with accommodation, transport, and guidance for a seamless Himalayan getaway.
Poon Hill was amazing! However, couldn’t have done it without our guide and porter, Dev and Nima. They made us feel safe, made us notice things we might not have, they were extremely organized and most of all super friendly! Highly recommend.
It was a great experience. The service was splendid with a super friendly and helpful guide
I completed the 6 day Poonhill trek with Dev as my guide and Amir as my porter. As I booked this trek alone, I wasn't sure whether others would join (they didn't, but it would have been better to know this when I asked Khum upon arriving in Kathmandu.) Travelling solo was fantastic: the organisation and itinerary worked brilliantly. Dev did a fantastic job at altering the itinerary based on what I wanted to see and he planned a fantastic route from Poonhill crossing glacier rivers, via hot springs and through beautiful villages. He was knowledgeable, friendly, chatty (but not too much!) and matched my walking pace well. Dev and Amir kept me company in the afternoon after finishing trekking for the day. We played cards, teaching each other different games. Dev came well prepared for the trek, providing me with snacks, fruit and a poncho that also went over my bag when it tipped it down. He had a superb knowledge of the route, warning me when up/down or "Nepali flat" was coming up. I would highly recommend Dev if you choose to trek with this company.
Full of stone stairs. We wouldn’t recommend for beginners. Stunning views. Worth visiting especially in Ghandhruk.
This was my first trek in a foreign country and I wanted a short and accessible one for beginners. It is fairly physical due to steep stairs, but there is no dangerous or technical areas. you are walking through jungle trees and adorable village with a background view on the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri mountains. there is also options to make your trek shorter if you feel too tired. I loved this trek and it made me want to explore further this amazing country.
The trip was great, well-organized, and Megendra made sure I had everything I need and that our journey went smoothly. It was definitely more challenging than I expected (NOT what I'd classify as a hike for kids and older people-and I'm a reasonably seasoned hiker!) but I guess in Nepal it qualifies as easy. :) The area was so beautiful and all details were taken care of. I'd love to come back when it isn't monsoon season! Thanks for a great and memorable experience.
The trek was wonderful, we got to explore a lot of the places & culture. Ram our guide tour made sure we enjoy everything and took care of everything, which was amazing of him. Poonhill was such amazing scenery and the places that we had passed by were so interesting getting us to meet different ppl thwy had taught us much of the culture. Definitely bring something for the snow up there.
The tour company organized an excellent trek. They made sure everyone was appropriately outfitted. Ramesh, our guide, was extremely knowledgeable and ensured we had good rooms every night and took care of all the details.
The company really looked after me from the time I landed in Nepal and to the point I left! It was a fantastic trek with my guide Krishna, he definitely made sure I was not only safe throughout but also that I was having fun!! I learnt a lot of things about Nepalese culture as Krishna was always happy to inform me about many different things which made the trek very interesting. I was not at any stage worried about anything because they really made me feel safe and looked after. Thank you for providing such a good time!
Our original plan was the Annapurna Circuit Hike in January. The tour company informed us in advance about the possibility that Thorong La Pass might be closed due to too much snow and an increased avalanche danger. We tried anyway, started the Hike, but unfortunately the weather got worse. Our guide Raju, for whom the safety of his customers is the first priority, reacted very spontaneously and planned an alternative route, the Ghorepani Poonhill Hike and an extension of it south of the Annapurna Basecamp. The hike and the views were breathtakingly beautiful. Thanks to Raju, we learned a lot about the mountains, mountaineering and flora and fauna. As soon as there were problems he regularly asked about our situation and was always very helpful. Once again a big thank you to the great organization. Should I return to Nepal, this tour company would be my first point of contact.
From the time you arrive in Nepal, you're taken care of by this tour company. Nepal has some of the best people I've encountered. If you're experiencing the arduous task of determine which of the hundreds of trekking companies to go with, don't hesitate to go with this one. Praveen was our guide and has the biggest hearts and always had our best interests top of mind to make sure we were getting the most of our trek.
I'm so pleased that I went with this tour company for my first trekking experience and first trip to Nepal. We felt so well taken care of during our trip from beginning to end. The included rides to and from the airport were so convenient, and the debriefing dinner following the trek added an extra personal touch. The trek itself was incredible, and our guide Praveen was absolutely amazing. He was kind, funny, flexible, and offered great suggestions to alter/personalize our trekking route based on our group's wants and needs. I highly recommend this trek and this trekking company. We will definitely be back to Nepal!
If you have limited time for trekking, then this is the best trek to book. You can also consider flying to Pokhara if you want to spend more time roaming around Pokhara. The trail is very tourist friendly, appropriate for all ages who wants to trek. Very nice weather and has clearing in the summit during month of october to november.Hope to be back next year!
The trek proper was fantastic - I was paired with a great female guide and porter who made me feel safe at every step. It was an incredible itinerary as well, being able to see Poon Hill, Ghandruk and the Jhinu Hot Springs. I highly recommend this company and won't be travelling with anyone else when I return.
A very popular trekking trail, with good facilities all through the route. Trek on the day of sunrise at Poonhilll is extra long and can be exhaustive because you have to start the trek early morning 4.30am and climb up to 3200m level, climb down to Ghorepani. Then again climb up few times high before rapid climb down.
We had a memorable trip with our guide Dev. He is very friendly and is always ready to help us whenever we need. We enjoyed cozy lodges and delicious meals on the way trekking. Thanks Dev for all.
This hike was amazing. Is was my first hike ever so the last few days were a bit tough but still not as tough as I thought it would be. We had amazing views which i really enjoyed in the first few days but is was very rainy and cloudy in the last few days due to the monsoon season. I enjoyed passing the villages with kind locals and seeing so many animals anywhere. With good A/B or B shoes and magnesium powder you will be fine. You can buy water anywere but its mostly bottled. Great hike which I would love to do again in another season. I recommend this hike to anyone who only has a few days or for beginners.
It was a challenge as it was my first trip but we managed to have fun in very nice small group. Our guide Dev and the porters were very helpful during rainy days, we also had a good time together when they teached us how to play Nepali card games. It was a nice trip and would definitly come back
Honestly couldnt be more pleased. loved our very sweet guide 80 char min
From day one, very well organized, reliable and friendly. We were picked up from the airport in Kathmandu by Radju, our guide. He could add a lot of extra information about the places that we were going to, about the mountains, the villages, the culture, the vegetation, the animals, incredible knowledge! Radju and Gomis(porter) came every night with fresh fruit for us, so kind and delicious. Radju also showed us an alternative way when the main path was unexpectedly blocked, we arrived safely thanks to his efforts, thank you very much Radju and Gomis.
Very well run. Dharma the guide was knowledgeable and looked after everything. He very much wanted me to make the most of my Nepal experience and went above and beyond.
Loved this trek the sunrise was so beautiful on poon hill. It was challenging at times but was well worth it for the experience. Would recommend to any one looking for a semi short but awesome trek in Nepal.
This trek is a warming up for annapurna circuit or ABC. The view is wonderful. Everybody who loves nature will love this trek.
Accompanied by a super nice guide, Dev, not only as a guide but also asa friend. very helpful along the trek and ensured that we the trip met our expectation, and it does. Dev always manage to provide a nice fruits for us after dinner. Thanks Dev. Absolutely wanna come again
We had the very best time on this trek with Dev as our guide. The trek itself offered incredible views both along the trek and at sunrise from Poon Hill. The accomodation was better than we had expected, with comfortable beds at every stop and hot showers and WiFi at almost every place too. We loved having Dev as our guide. He was very professional, kind and fun to spend the trek with! Dev ensured our every need was met-often before we even realised we needed something! He made sure we were comfortable and happy the whole way and was extremely knowledgable about the trek, Nepalese culture and everything to do with the mountains. We couldnt have asked for more! Our porter, Dawa, was also brilliant! Not only did he carry my bag the whole way, but he was really friendly too! The whole trek was an absolutely amazing experience!
Myself and my girlfriend have just finished a great trek around the villages of the Annapurna region with an incredible sunrise view of some of amazing peaks from Poon Hill. Our guide Dev was amazing and made sure the trek was thoroughly enjoyable from start to finish, the transport was made very easy by his local knowledge, he arranged excellent accommodation that was comfortable and most places had hot showers and Wi-Fi as well as amazing food. His knowledge of the area, the mountains and local culture also meant we left with a huge amount of knowledge which was great. We had a porter, Dawa, was also amazing. This was very useful as he carried my girlfriend's large bag and this made the trek much more enjoyable for her as she may have struggled with the steeper climbs without, he always had a smile on his face and was always there whenever we needed. All in all we had a great time and we can't thank Dev and Dawa enough for all of their help along the way.
Amazing trek! Nepal is breathtaking and our guides Deb and Neema were awesome, making sure we were comfortable at every point and even teaching us Nepali card games. The trek was difficult in places but the views were so worth it and the teahouses we stayed in were gorgeous too, it was hard to leave!
I had some days left before my flight back and then the 5 days long trek to Ghorepani Poon hill was just perfect. The only thing was that I wanted it to last forever!! All the routes were beautiful and the mountain views were so incredible. I have to go back someday...
The stops were amazing and going from Ghorepani straight to Ghandruk meant the pace of the whole journey was very good - starts a 'bit' more difficult but ends very comfortably. The hot springs im Jhuni were incredible too! Dave our guide was fantastic, youd be lucky to get him too
Had an amazing time with dev as our tour guide. He knew what he was doing, explained everything to us at every step, knew loads of information and set a great pace and adapted to us on our trip. Would highly recommend. The trip itself was difficult, bit well worth it. Great sights and nice to see a whole different world.
Excellent trekking. With breathtaking landscapes. I loved the waterfalls, the hanging bridges and all the diversity of nature. It was only worth being cloudy on Poon Hill and not having seen the scenery of mountains and sunrise but the hot spring was wonderful and made up for it. It was a shame the time went by so fast. The challenge was adequate.
I do not think I wouldve been able to complete the trek if I had gone with another company or guide! Good food, comfortable accommodation, and lots of support from the porter and guide whenever I found it challenging.
I did this trek during March with my mother, who had never hiked before. Though she found it challenging at times, the patience and support from both guide and porter turned a once daunting hike into a positive and cherishable experience for her. The guide, Dev, was incredibly proactive and thoughtful, and even changed parts of the itinerary along the way to suit our physical abilities. Amongst snow, rain and lots of sunshine, we were happy and well-fed for the whole week!
Dev was the perfect guide for this beautiful trek: extremely attentive to our needs and wishes, super calm and always in a good and very welcoming mood. We had some good laughs and I always felt very secure with his knowledge and serenity. He does an excellent job, plus he really loves this trek :-)
The route of the chosen trek was perfect for me It included a vast array options
The poon hill trek was very enjoyable. Seeing different villages and the surrounding mountains was great. The trekking itself was slightly challenging but very do able.
Had a wonderful trek with Raju Mainali. Very informative and great knowledge of the route. Fantastic food and lovely accommodation each night. Amazing scenery. Thank you Raju
The trek was not too difficult. Excellent moutain view along the trek. We did not see the sunrise due to the weather condition. But the snow covered mountain and the path presented a breathtaking experience.
I had an incredible week on this trek with this tour operator to see Annapurna. Megendra my guide was so lovely and helpful, and just an all round excellent host. Unfortunately we did not get to go to Poon Hill at sunrise because of snow fall, but the view from Ghorepani was still very worth it and Megendra just adapted our itinerary accordingly. Great value for what it includes. Lovely little guest houses and fantastic food, also helped me plan other things for my trip. Big thanks to Megendra! I love Nepal!
I come here for booking direct company. I go alone in this trekking. I go with private guide. Everything is good. Guesthouse and meal and transportation and guide are include. The guide he give detail and nice friendly. We talking like friend. I have problem about boots. It broken. The guide he can borrow from new one from guesthouse.(But however you must check again for your boots .make sure dont old boots like me :D ) And the guide he give the stick for helpful. Guesthouse trekking ( ) 4-5 poon hill
I am a father of 3 sons and the four of us joined the trek on the 23rd of Dec. 2018. After a long 7 hour bus trip from Kathmandu to Pokhara (not very interesting), we met with our guide Raju. The following day he took us from the hotel in Pokhara to the starting point in Nayapool. The first and second day were relatively easy and we enjoyed the scenery. The 3rd day (sunrise at Poonhill) was fantastic, but challenging. Basically we walked (with a few breaks) from 5.30 AM to 5 PM. The views from Poonhill and from other high locations were wonderful. Our guide Raju is a super friendly and caring guide. He motivated my boys (16,15,13 years) and took good care of us. The 4th and 5th day were great as well. The Guest House in Ghandruk (Simon GH) was the only good one during the trek. The other hostels are very very basic, but we understand that we cannot expect much in the mountains of this undeveloped country. After 5 days we said goodbye to Raju and we hope to see him again some day, somewhere.
Dev was my guide and Avinash was my porter. Both were very helpful and professional. Thanks.
Bijay Khadka made this trek so worth it! Beautiful trek, great guide, got us up for the beautiful views, nothing could compare to how good he is! Bijay was very funny and me and my friend got along with him very well as Im sure everyone else that would want to do this trek would! DO THIS TREK WITH BIJAY HE IS THE BEST GUIDE!!!
Great short trek with lovely variety of scenery, beautiful mountain views, teahouses and villages. Poon hill and the walk from Ghorepani to Ghandruk were particularly spectacular. Highly recommend.
A very enjoyable trek.Poon hill was my first ever trek and at times I found the steps challenging but that's what makes this trip that more rewarding. Unqiue adventures made my time in Nepal very memorable and their hospitality was so great I will not forget it. Beautiful snow capped mountains and lush green forest this trek is truly spectacular! My first time visiting Nepal but it certainlty won't be my last. Thank you unqiue adventures!
It was a great experience and organization, and guide (Lakpa Shepa) adds to the experience
Ghorepani Poon Hill trek is quite easy, but at the same time spectacular. For the surise wiev it is important to have no clouds
The trek was an amazing experience. As I did not have a lot of time, this trek was perfect in length. It was challenging in parts, but my lovely guide Harka made the experience pleasurable and fun. Seeing the mountains was a life changing experience and staying in guesthouses was basic but comfortable. Will definitely be back in Nepal at some point!
The local operator took care of everything for our trek in Nepal, from picking us up at the airport to dropping us off for our departure. Khum was very professional and attentive to our questions and requests. We had great trek with our guide Dev. He was friendly and handled all the logistics during the trek. He even taught us a new card game. I would recommend this operator to others.
I'm a first time trekker and thoroughly enjoyed this trek... challenging because it has so many rocky steps that I needed to climb up and down. But our guide, Nur Shrestha, was so enthusiastic and caring about our ability, that I really felt comfortable throughout the entire trek. I will use this local operator, for my next trek in Nepal.
The trekking experience was great. Suitable level for people who is first time on trekking in Nepal. The montain views were amazing. Sunrise was a great part of the whole journey, however, it is not available everyday, its totally upto the weather.
My friends and I did the Poon hill trek. Our Guide and Porter are very knowledgable and professional. Well planned and punctual. Great view of the mountain range!
My friends and I did the Poon hill trek. The trail was technically easy, with lots of stairs and lots of going up and down hill. Awesome view of Annapurna South and Fishtail. The Poon hill viewpoint does get busy for the sunrise but it was worth it.
Only on complain about accommodation in Tadapani, what was freshly painted, full of this smell and bedlinen was not clean.
Everything was Well organized from start to our departure from Kathmandu. Also THE company was flexibel if we wanted to change plans. Special Thanks to our guide nuri sherpa. He knows THE area and (side)paths very Well and communicaties good. I would recomment him as your guide. Also THE porter did a Great job. five days that were a once in a lifetime experience. This local operator absolute delivered value for a compatitive price.
Beautiful five days trekking. Not too difficult, one day was a taxing 8 hours the rest were comfortable. Personally I regretted not making decision to take a longer trek, would have loved to have done ABC so some unfinished business
It was my first time in Nepal for trekking, looked at the internet and spotted this local operator. The reviews was pretty good and I decided to go for it. They have pick up to and from airport to hotel and the starting town Pokhara. Im generally happy with the arrangement. As the trek started, I soon found out that the trek was harder than my expectation, but Im the kind of person who like to take some challenge, well.... show me what youve got Annapurna! The scenery of the WHOLE TRIP were unbeatable, I have to give full mark for that! If i have more holidays I really want to do the whole Annapurna Circuit. Another plus will give to the guest houses the company chosen, I think they were better than the typical mountain guest houses you can imagine. Finally, the guide is friendly, helpful, careing and knowledgable. I dont have to worry about anything, he took care of the guest houses, the meals, the route and the leeches (Lol.....if you happen to trek in rainy day). I did my trek in mid-September around the end of monsoon, I was very lucky to have a clear sky in most of the day including the day I went to Poon Hill for sunrise, yay! The trip definitely an experience Ill never forget in my whole life.
Me and my friend made an impromptu plan to Nepal for trekking. We were not sure in the start with which company we should go with, after calling and chatting to so many people we decided to go with this operator and I tell u that was our best decision. As we were two girls so they provided us Guide(Rajaram jee, age 42) and Potter (Dil bhaiya, age 19) accordingly. Our guide and Potter were very helpful and supportive. Guide also helped us to buy trekking stuff in the start of the trip as we were new to the place and did a good bargain with the locals. Lodges where we stayed were neat and clean and generally food was good home cooked food. The whole trekking experience was awesome! As it was a monsoon season, jungles are full of greenery and streams. Every site is so different from each other and yet so beautiful.
Simply awesome.. actually neither this review nor the photos can do justice to this trek.. me and one of my friend randomly decided to trek. Before trek we were pretty nervous two girls alone is it safe and all those questions. But thanks to Raja Ram jee (our guide) and Dil Bhaiya (our Sherpa) the trek seemed so safe and soo much fun. ACCOMMODATION: All the accommodations were incredible. Dont expect 3 or 5 star properties but yes the lodges were clean and decent, most importantly with the best view that makes you feel that u r in heaven. My favorite accommodation was at Poon Hill - Hill Top hotel.. FOOD: Had momos and Daal Bhaat all the time but if u r bit fussy about food and are scared to try different cuisines then do carry ur pre cooked meals VIEW: incredible.. mesmerizing.. beautiful.. serene..
Booking a hiking company in Nepal can be an big decision. We are happy that we went with this local operator. From the start it was very professional and we got all our travel/hiking details explained. And we got to go the way there with our guide, Dev he has been helpful all the way trough and the hike was beautiful even though it was in monsune season. We still had mostly sunshine. And when my boyfriend got sick on the hike Dev our guide was such a big help. All in all it was just a really good experience even though we had a bit of health problems on the way.
Nice trek with changing location on mountains, river and dschungel, very green! The weather and view was awersome, but you can be unlucky in monsoon season as well. Be aware of a lot of stairs!
A great trekk thats gives you a taste of what its like hiking in Nepal. I hadnt done a lot of prep work leading up to this trip but it was definitely manageable. I decided to get a porter last minute and Im so glad I did! Between him and my amazing guide Pravvan they got me round and up those hills no problems. Overall great trekk!

There's something quite incredible about crawling out of a bed, high up in the mountains and feeling the fresh air on your face as you eat a healthy Nepali breakfast (not to mention the slight stiffness in your legs from the hike the day before). This trek was meaningful, educational, and physically quite tiring, not to mention that our guide (Nur kumar-shresthe) was just the loveliest person, and now someone I am happy to call a friend. Thank you for a magical time.

the trek itself was beautiful and our guide Mingma was lovely, supportive and full of information on the area we were in!
My sister and I had a wonderful trek. At times it was a bit challenging, but our guide Mingma was very supportive and kind. The views from Poon Hill made it all worth while.
Good time to go in March, the Rhodedendran blooming season is spectacular. The trek is moderately difficult especially on the first and third days when we had mostly uphill and long walks. It can be hard on old knees but the guides set the pace well. Most people can do it and complete it with a sense of accomplishment. The Mountain Views are always beautiful but sadly it was foggy on the sunrise day. If you are at Ghorepani on a clear day even in the afternoon, might be worth climbing Poon Hill.
It is difficult to explain how beautiful can be a landscape. I just can tell you how amazing it was. I saw many little villages very nice. I walked in the forest, crossed a river. I took a bath in hot natural spring. In few words, if you're interesting by this trek and hesitate just stop and go for it. :)
My last trekking was roughly 11 years ago. I was worry about my stamina that not fit enough to trek up to Poon Hill. My buddy told me, "it's alright, u have experience in trekking, it wouldn't bother you". On our first day of trekking, we started our journey from Nayapul to Hille, then Hille to Ulleri. To go up to Ulleri, we need to go thru 3500 of very steep steps! This was super challenging and exhausting. It took us about 2Hours to reach Ulleri. But that's not the end yet for that day, we need to climb few tenths steps to go up to our lodge where it located highest in Ulleri. It was exhausted but the view is awesome. I can see Annapurna from my room. It may be tiny lil mountain far away from me, but it's so motivating for the next day. On 2nd day, we started our journey at 8am. We passed by Banthanthi and Nangethanti to go to Ghorepani. This route was much easier and not many steep steps. We arrived earlier than our estimated arrival time. Again, the agency got us accommodation at the highest location. This was even more awesome. All snow mountains are so much more nearer compared to Ulleri. We can't stop staring at it for couples of hours. It looks so fabulous and wonderful. On the 3rd day, at 5.30am we moved to Poon Hill. A very short journey and exhausting as it's kinda steep. But its worth it, the view was 10x more awesome than the view from the window. Annapurna and Machhapuchchhre's view are so clear in front of you. Our guide voluntarily to take lots of photo for us and he even know which is the best spot for photo. Later, we went back to Ghorepani to collect our bag and we went to Ban Thanti then Tadapani and lastly, Ghandruk. At Tadapani, our guide discussed with us that we may reach Ghandruk pretty late, me and my buddy discussed, we don't mind spend additional 1night at Tadapani since we spent too much time at Poon Hill. But our guide knew that we wanted to finish our circuit on time, in order to have some leisure time in Pokhara. So, our guide decided to bring us to Ghandruk. It was 6.30pm, we were only halfway I'm the middle of the forest to Ghandruk. He's well prepared, we had headlight for us during the night scene in the forest and he even helped me to carry my huge bag (my both lower limbs muscles pain increasing sharply). He never fail to support us. He has a very good critical thinking, he always has plan B, C, etc. Bout 8pm, we finally arrived Ghandruk. On the next day, our destination is Jhinu Danda. Due to my lower limbs, he kinda concerned that I couldn't make it, he has been thinking about short cut to Jhinu. He gained all resources from the local residents, he brought us to a new route where it's new to him as well. We felt more adventurous as we explored new route together with him. He's very reliable and never fail to check with my lower limbs. We arrived Jhinu about 3pm. There's a Hot Spring nearby Jhinu about 20/25mins away from our lodge. It felt so relieving and comfortable in the hot spring pool. It's cleaned and someone is there to guard it. Best feeling ever, soaked under hot spring while enjoying the nature. On our last day, we went to Siwai and we took bus to go back to Pokhara. Overall, all lodges provides good and comfy room including additional comforter. Food was big portion. Not all lodges has hot shower, it's not easy to get full access of electricity on top of the mountain. Either we get a pail of hot water from kitchen or bear with the cold water. I love my trip alot. It was so wonderful. Most of the hill or mountains that I trekked last time, we can see mostly city, forest but at Poon Hill, i witness Himalaya Mountains everywhere. I felt so contented. I'm considering to join ABC Circuit for coming year.
Our first trek in Nepal and it was sooo great. Dev our guide is very humble, helpful and very accomodating. 5 stars for him. :) hes a friend rather than a guide. The company planned it very conveniently. And ull have the taste of a hot spring in nepal :) ... Keep it up guys
The trekking is amazing. Kuhn and his group gives their best effort to provide the first class service. My tour guide, Dev is awesome and kind enough to lend me the hiking stick even I forgot to bring one. He shared with all valuable trekking tips and information. The trek was amazing. Must go to the hot spring and sunrise at Poonhill. If I am going to trekking in Nepal, will definitely get this operator as my guide again.

This is my first long trek and I have been sedentary for years. So this trek, despite being labeled as easy, is a really challenging trek for me. I am very glad that my guide, Raju, is very nice. When I got sick on my 2nd and 3rd day of trekking, he carried my bag. He is also kind and patient of us. The view was also extraordinary; I think it is worth all the pain :)
this is the best word use to describe the ABC experience i gain thue this expedition, before the trip i was hesitate not done any multiple days trekking before, after couple connect with the the local operator's director Khum Subedi with the supportive assurance, than i was confident to take this challenge myself. I m glad i sign up the Annapurna Base Camp instead of the Poon Hill.
Myself and a friend arrange a bespoke Poon Hill 5 day trek and a Chitwan 3 day safari with transportation arranged between the two and also from and back to Kathmandu. We arranged everything by email and received responses to everyone and we did seriously pester this company. On arrival in Kathmandu we were collected from the airport by a driver who had waited 2 hours while we cleared immigration, we then travelled to our hotel before being collected and taken to their offices. There we were given detailed information about our trip and asked if we had any questions about the itinerary. From the following morning where we were taken to the bus station to the moment we arrived back in Kathmandu everything went totally as planned, even back at Kathmandu where we were again very later the driver had waited for us. Our Poon Hill guide was Raju and our porter was Ram and they were superb, Raju even stayed on the following day and escorted us around Pokhara sorting out travel for us and didn't want anything from us although we bought him lunch. Raju was also responsible for choosing our restaurants and tea houses on route and again he picked some really good places for us. He had good knowledge of the mountains, wildlife, village life, the politics of Nepal and many other things. All in all then totally impressed with this company and I have very high standards, really would recommend anyone travelling through Nepal to consider this company.
It's great trip - relatively short, but still see great mountain scenery. The walk is also very varied - mountains, forest, river, valley, hot springs... you won't get bored!

What an experience! Seeing the views along the Annapurna mountain range at sunrise was a highlight of our trip to Nepal.
Fantastic first experience trekking Nepal and would recommend it to anyone thinking about visiting. We were incredible lucky with the weather so our views astonished everyday. The facilities also where exceptional good, food, rooms and atmosphere. Loved every minute of it even though my legs hurt like hell at the end.
Just did this trek with my mate and Raju Kandel our guide and loved it! The weather was much better than expected, 20+ deg C and not a cloud in the sky everyday. Food was excellent everywhere we stopped along the way and the guest houses chosen for us were ideal. Views are increasingly stunning throughout and the sunrise at Poon hill was worth the effort. Raju took us down a different route than we took up which greatly added to the experience. This is meant to be the 'easiest' trek in Nepal and its the best introduction to the country and the Himalayas but our calves were still screaming by the end of it. We will definitely be back to try a longer more difficult trek in the future.
Fantastic, beautiful, beautiful trip. Many people at world have see this spectacular trip .I am so happy to see this wonders.many thanks to the local operator .
The trip wasn't well organised as firstly no car came to pick us from the hotel the guide asked us to take public bus to naya paul they brought a car after we refused to take the public bus. Secondly we had to walk to Banthanti in first day 2250 m above sea level instead of staying in Ulleri because the guide didn't make the booking earlier so we were very exhausted and there was no hot water we had to go to another building. Thirdly the guide was helpful and kind but his English was too poor which was a communication barrier so we didn't get the chance to know anything about the region/people culture
Thanks to our leader Chris Chetri, we had a beautiful trek through the basis of the Annapurna mountains. We were a small group, none of us were experienced trekkers, so we really didn't know what to expect. I'm a slow walker and I like to marvel at all the different sites and the little details of nature. Chris was always amazingly patient and somehow always managed to get us to each lodge at the end of the day in perfect timing. Every detail was perfectly arranged, just like magic. The porters who travelled with us were also very professional and we made friends with them. I enjoyed this trip tremendously, as what I take from it is the calm, the serenity, the amazing Annapurna sights, and the feeling of freedom, with no pressure transferred on to us despite there being a schedule to maintain. I would travel with them again anytime. I miss Nepal a lot and that has much to do with the experience Chris Chetri and his team blessed us with. Namaste. :) _/\_
The monsoons impacted on the trek immensely. Almost all of the views could not be enjoyed. Their was no disclaimer or discouragement about going during monsoon season. The monsoons made it more dangerous and the leeches were a real nuisance.
Great trek round Ghorepani, 5 days with a lot of mountain steps, it was rainy season so not the best for visibility, that said we did get some clear time and stunning views. Our guide Raju was excellent. we all felt a real sense of achievement to have done the trek. We then went to Chitwan which was also great
It was a really hard five days walking with lots of steps and climbing but I just the end a really good experience and really happy I completed it. Great for first time treckers
Despite the bad weather, we still saw the Himalayas. Dev was the best guide, highly recommended.
"This is a fabulous place. Fantastic vision of the Himalayan mountains. Machapuchare, legendary Annapurna, Nilgiri, Dhaulagiri and excellent forests and meadows. Strong recommendation...

V disappointed with outcome Ghorepani sunrise was a non event I had to wake myself up and walk up at 6.30am. Guide blamed poor weather for not waking me All other trekkers were there at 5am and took amazing pictures. Hot Springs also didn't happen. Although I booked 24 hours before we set off 20/7/2017, the Hot Springs pools had been washed away by flood water 4 weeks ago. I was not told of this at time of booking. Guide spoke very little English and could not answer my questions. Torrential rain and terrible mud/ washed away paths due to monsoon. 4 times we had to crawl across active land slips: slopes of mud and shale which seemed v unstable There was no safe passage. The guest houses were dismal and twice I had to move rooms because of tissue paper thin walls, and stoned occupants. The highlights were a non event and the rest a terrible ordeal
I enjoyed the trek very much! The views were beautiful and met my expectations. The food was also great.
I have just finished the short trek to Poon Hill with the great support of local operator. Cannot expecting something more than that. Passing through the diversity of geographical lands of Nepal's highlands during the trek will give you all the things you love to see in the Mountainous Nepal. And as reaching the amazing Poon Hill, you will see the Epic Nepal with the snowy mountainous range of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri - Everything just stopped for a moment and only you with such the greatest of the natural creation.

The trek itself was good with beautiful views and it was great having mountains as your backdrop. It was tougher than I was expecting and most of the time you are either going up or down steps or steep ground. But glad I did it and would reccommend.
An excellent trek with some great sights along the way. We were time constrained but if we wasn't, i would recommend the Annapurna Base Camp Trek as its only an extra few days.
Spectacular views from on top of Poon Hill! They say that this circuit is less challenging - that's not entirely true. The trail climbs up and down significant heights by stair steps, going over hills and dropping to the creeks below. It can be done, but just don't expect the smooth winding paths up and around mountains as in North America. The many Tea Houses are a colorful treat to visit and eat at! It is a good trek to get exposure to the land and seeing the mountain life style. The topography changes as well through the heights always making the trip interesting. There are many places along the trail that have panoramic views to the mountain ranges or of individual peaks. Poon Hill at sunrise on a clear morning is not to be missed. Very sound Trek to explore Nepal!
It was beyond my expectations. Our guide Mr Ram was very accommodating and he was very informative. The rest houses that we stayed at were indeed comfortable. We enjoyed the food, the local delicacies was treat indeed. Upon reaching the summit of Ghorepani Hill, i must say the view was spectacular. Need less to say, this surely won't be my last trip .
