At approximately 7.30am meet your driver and depart for Parma. On arrival, meet your local guide and head to an authentic Parmigiano-Reggiano PDO producer. A tasting is included.
Continue with a guided visit and tasting at a family run production site of Traditional Balsamic Vinegar PDO, followed by a visit to a local family-run ham factory specialising in the renowned Prosciutto di Parma PDO. Lunch is served at a farm-to-table restaurant and features the region’s finest products, including Parmigiano-Reggiano, Prosciutto di Parma, other local cured meats, a traditional filled pasta dish such as tortelli di Parma, and homemade desserts, paired up with local wines like Lambrusco and Malvasia.
After lunch, stop for photos at the charming medieval village of Torrechiara, dominated by its romantic castle, considered one of the most spectacular in the Duchy of Parma and Piacenza. Dating back to 1448, it was built by Sir Pier Maria Rossi for his beloved Bianca Pellegrini. Then return to Parma for a private two-hour walking tour of the city (entrances to museums or monuments not included). At the end of the tour, transfer back to Bologna.
