Cycle and cruise through the heart of Europe on the Danube Explorer to Budapest, an 8-day group trip starting and ending in Passau. This easy-paced tour is designed for experienced travelers and seniors who appreciate a blend of gentle activity and cultural immersion.

Pedal through Austria and Hungary, stopping in Vienna, Bratislava, and Budapest, with the comfort of a river boat as your floating base. The highlight of this tour is the unique combination of biking and river cruising, offering a relaxed yet comprehensive way to explore legendary cities and landscapes along the Danube.

Day 1Arrive Passau, cruise to Engelhartszell

Day 2Cycle from Engelhartszell through the 'Great Loop' and on to Aschach (43km/26.7mi)

Day 3Cycle to Bratislava (45km/28mi)

Day 4Arrive Budapest by boat, round trip to Szentendre (24km/15mi) or free time

Day 5Cycle through the Hungarian countryside (50km/31.5mi), by boat to Vienna

Accommodation

7 nights accommodation on board a deluxe category river boat - MV Vivienne (MVV) or MV Lisabelle (MVL) and the trip price is based on a standard cabin on the main deck. For other categories and seasons a supplement applies. Cabin upgrade options: MV Vivienne (MVV) - Comfort, Superior, Junior Suite & Master Suite. and MV Lisabelle (MVL) - Comfort Eco, Comfort, Superior. Price varies according to chosen category.

Meals

7 breakfasts, 6 lunches, 7 dinners. The trip is based on full board which includes a buffet breakfast daily, 5 packed lunches and 1 full 3 course lunch and 3 course dinner each night (2-3 choices for main course). Vegetarian or other dietary requirements are catered for but we ask that you advise this in advance (at least 21 days prior to the trip commencement).Welcome drink, crew show, live music every night, gala dinner on last evening with farewell cocktail
