Danube Explorer to Budapest

Far beyond my expectations. Organization was fantastic, we did not have to worry about anything.

Enjoyed cycling in different areas with varied scenery and other days spent exploring cities. Staying on the boat and not having to move hotels as on many cycling holidays was a bonus

We loved everything about our Danube Barge and Bike adventure! From the minute we stepped on board the SS Vivienne the service, staff and food were exceptional. Our cabin with full sliding door was very comfortable with great views. The daily briefs seemed overwhelming at first, but each day once we started riding, all the information fell into place and was very helpful. It was a unique and breathtaking way to see many countries which will leave us with wonderful memories. We highly recommend them for a professional, well co-ordinated holiday that was so much fun both on and off-board!

The boat, room, food and accommodations were very good.

The organization for the biking on the cruise was very good. The crew was marvelous. My one complaint was that the food was not very good.

It was more of a cycling trip than a vacation.

Friends did the same trip last year and recommended it to us. It was everything we anticipated! The boat, the staff, the bikes, the places we visited were all amazing. Our first day was very cold & wet but we rode anyway and I don’t regret a minute. Such great memories!

All our expectations were met. The boat facilities, service were exceptional. The bike route was easy, on a touring bike, and the scenery superb.

We have just completed the Danube Explorer to Budapest and it has been the best experience from the moment we booked. Our travel consultant Kate was a count of knowledge and very helpful with every query. The trip exceeded our expectations. The boat was very comfortable and the meals amazing, all served by a very attentive crew. The cycling was very easy, on quality bikes. The independence of a self guided trip was very appealing to us and we enjoyed cycling at our own pace and stopping wherever we chose. I will be recommending this trip to all our friends and can’t wait to book another.

The trip was very well organized, and the cruise team highly responsive in very satisfactory and creative ways on our behalf to unforeseen weather and water level constraints. The ship crew were very competent and friendly. I would recommend their river cruise to others.

The bike and barge tour is a great way to explore and experience cities, villages, and the natural beauty along the Danube River. We loved the simplicity of having a local guide brief us on sites to see and not having to navigate unfamiliar roads. The food and service aboard the boat was excellent and the rooms were clean and comfortable. We highly recommend the Danube bike and barge tour!

Unfortunately we both tested positive for covid, Keiran after only having one day on the bike and myself after two. We chose to isolate to protect other passengers so missed a lot of what was on offer however the staff looked after us well and helped in many ways. Hopefully we may get to return another time and enjoy the full extent of the trip. Thanks for everything.

This trip met all expectations Lots of fun with easy riding and seeing and experiencing a range of European culture.

We had high expectations of this trip and they were exceeded. Was the trip of a lifetime. Cruise was professionally run. Cycling was well organised and was the perfect way to explore the countryside. I recommend upgrading to a cabin where you can open the doors. Highly recommended.

A great way to achieve an active holiday - and enjoy a little luxury along the way!

The whole week was perfect!! The staff members were extremely friendly and helpful; the boat was clean and very user-friendly; the rooms were comfortable and clean and pretty spacious! The bikes were always ready to go, and the whole bike to boat to bike transitions were super well-managed. The route guides were very well done and easy-to-use. The food was always fresh and delicious, and there was an ample variety of choices. A+ all around...!!!

This was our first bike n barge adventure. And we were very well supported by the crew, guides and cruise director, as well as newly found friends on the boat.
