Germany Cruise Tour Reviews

Honest insights from past guests on our Cruise Germany tours

There was more walking than we expected, but enough free time to rest and recover. The only optional experience we went on was David in Florence and it was well worth it. Others in the group enjoyed all of the optional experiences. Our tour guide Pamala Russo was great and made sure we all had a good time and added a real personal touch to the trip. The bus was very comfortable and Michele our driver did an excellent job navigating the narrow streets and busy highways.

Awesome trip! It really gives a nice overview of much of the country. We saw so many gorgeous sights. The mix of included and optional activities was great, it gave us the ability to be as busy as we wanted, but also allowed for downtime if we so chose. Most of the activities are in classic tourist areas - very crowded. We also had some activities off the beaten path, which was lovely. Be prepared with good walking shoes, we averaged about 6km per day, and lots of it is over ancient cobblestone and stairs. Our Travel Director was wonderful and all the local tour guides were extremely knowledgeable and friendly. This was our first European trip and we loved it.

It is packed with lots of things to see. I learned a lot about the areas we visited. There is a lot of walking so people must be prepared for that and not always on smooth flat areas. It can hold up the group if people can't keep up.

Overall very good. Would recommend more time in Rome. Most meals were good. Travel Director Patrizia was excellent both as a guide and problem solver. Most local guides were good to very good, although a couple were a bit hard to understand. Overall a very experience!

It was well organized. The tour director, Marnina was excellent. She kept us on schedule, informative about the local areas and was very easy to talk to and interact with.

Travel tips for Germany Cruise Tour

  • Pack comfortable walking shoes because you will visit a new port almost daily. Our Germany cruise tours include more shore excursions than a standard ocean-going itinerary.
  • Do not feel obligated to do everything. With so many port landings, it is tempting to cram your itinerary full of onshore activities. Skip a few things for a more relaxing trip.

  • Go with the flow, as heavy rains can prevent river ships from squeezing beneath certain bridges. Your highly experienced captain will have a backup plan for any eventuality.
