Germany Cycling Tours
Germany is a hub of culture and history that ranges from trendy, urban Berlin to the mythical Black Forest and all the picturesque villages, cutting-edge metropolises, and majestic nature in between. Without a doubt, the most ideal way to traverse the country’s 16 states—each boasting unique heritage and attractions—is on a cycling tour. Our Germany cycling tours allow you to admire the country’s famous landmarks, like the Neuschwanstein Castle, and off-the-beaten-path destinations such as the Frankenstein Castle from a fresh and unique perspective. Bicycle tours in Germany are also an excellent way to make lifelong friendships with like-minded people as you meander centuries-old pathways with scenic sights before refueling over world-class beer and wiener schnitzels. Those who prefer an intimate experience with friends and family can opt for a Germany sightseeing tour that offers all the same experiences but at a slower pace with a tight-knit group. Germany Bicycle Tour Reviews
Honest insights from past guests on our Bicycle Germany tours
1. The Wachau Valley was the highlight. 2. Finding the correct bus route to pick up the bikes on the first evening was a bit of a challenge. 3. The GPX worked so well letting us know within 50 yards that we were off the suggested trail. 4. While St. Agatha was beautiful and the lodging comfortable; contacting the pickup and waiting for a couple of hours was not our favorite way to end a rainy biking day. 5. Had we realized several hotels were not in walking distance to restaurants, we would have purchased the evening meal plan. 6. The days were filled with a variety of beautiful changing scenery while riding the entire week along the Danube — good trip.
This was a dream trip - bikes were great, food was fantastic - we had a vegetarian with us and it was some of the best vegetarian food we have ever had. The boat and crew were lots of fun. And the Danube is beautiful!!
Very well organized. Really liked the personalized book that supported the journey with information about each spot along the way. The app was also super helpful for each leg of the trip.
14 splendid days of cycling along the Danube, earning our rest and food and beer each day. Riding into capital cities that are built to welcome cyclists. Soaking up the history and modernism as we meandered along.
We thoroughly enjoyed our trip. As this was our very first European cycling trip we really didn’t know what to expect but the trip exceeded our expectations! The information provided before (the tip about a charging stick was invaluable) and during was great. The accommodations were fantastic, especially their location. It was so nice after a long ride to arrive at the hotel, be able to check in, have our bags available and then, after a shower, be able to head out on foot to explore the sights! The breakfasts were amazing and fuelled us for the ride ahead. The navigation system generally worked well although a bit tricky in larger centres but we figured things out. The bikes were well maintained and worked well.
This was our first ever multi-day bicycle trip. We loved it. The Danube cycle path offered a variety of scenery…the beautiful river, forests, rural and agricultural areas, small towns, cities, ancient and modern places. The hotels that were arranged for us were lovely and the luggage transport worked flawlessly. We loved the bountiful Austrian style breakfasts. Our only complaint was that one bike was difficult to pedal for the first two days, until we had it repaired at a bike shop. The chain was rubbing on the chain guard and the front wheel was overtightened. Later, as we were approaching Vienna, the handlebars on that bike suddenly became loose and swiveled 30 degrees, which could have caused a serious accident. So we recommend that the mechanics who provide the bikes do a much more thorough job of inspecting and testing each one, as if their spouse was going to ride it for 210 miles.
