Cycle through a world where Alpine peaks meet Venetian charm on the "Cycling from the Dolomites to Venice" tour. This 8-day moderate-activity bicycle trip for experienced travelers begins in the majestic Dolomites and winds down to the Venetian plains, passing through Dobbiaco, Cortina d'Ampezzo, and artful cities like Belluno and Treviso.
Enjoy 300 days of sunshine, pedal along scenic former railway lines, and sample the best of both Italian and Austrian influences. The culmination in Mestre, with easy access to Venice’s floating marvels, adds a touch of magic to your journey.
The USP of this tour package is its seamless blend of mountain adventure and cultural discovery, making it a must for cyclists eager to experience Italy’s diverse landscapes and traditions.
The route from Bolzano in the Dolomites to Venice offers a stunning mix of picturesque landscapes, charming villages, and historical sites. The Dolomites provide a dramatic backdrop with their towering peaks, while the cycling paths pass through serene countryside, vineyards, and scenic routes. The cycling experience can vary in difficulty based on the chosen route, terrain, and elevation gains.
Great value, great first use of Exodus Travels. My wife & I traveled this tour together & both were happy with the variety of lodging each night and the support provided for self guided route. Using the GPS enabled smart phone app from the start was a game changer, a few other groups who rode separately and tried to ride the route instead following road signs got lost a few times & added 15km to the day’s route distance, no problems other than more saddle time then anticipated.
I can't recommend this trip highly enough. The scenery was fantastic and varied and our guide Michaela, was exemplary in every way, as he was when he guided our Tuscany cycling trip. His energy, enthusiasm and passion for his job and country shone through, permeating everything he did for us. His knowledge about the places we visited and generally about his country was imparted in an entertaining, humerous and highly effective way. The day he facilitated for us in Venice was wonderful beyond words and will remain in our memories forever. The cut price boat taxi ride along the Grand Canal when we discovered there was a water taxi strike is testament to his ability to quickly find a way over obstacles and perfectly deployed negotiation skills. He's a STAR! We will be signing up for his Sardinia trip next year.
Fantastic 5-days of cycling in a beautiful part of Italy. Michele guided us through his home patch wonderfully with great choices for coffee (and cake) stops in the mornings and great lunch stops too. Loved the light-touch history and culture (especially the football). One pretty challenging day of cycling in the trip (Verona-Vicenza) but made it up the big hill in the afternoon and enjoyed the coasting downhill after our picnic. All the overnights were in cities which made for lots of choice over dinner options and Italian food didn't disappoint. Had such a variety over the week. Padua and Venice are both cities that would warrant further visits. Just amazing, and despite a horrible forecast the weather was very kind too.
