Itinerary

Cornwall’s dramatic coastlines set the stage for the Cornish Cycle Tour, a nine-day private bicycle adventure looping from Padstow through Falmouth, Perranporth, Porthleven, and more. Designed for travelers who appreciate both active exploration and comfortable accommodations, this self-guided tour blends shorter daily rides—never exceeding around 30 miles (50km)—with plenty of time to soak in the local culture and scenery. You’ll pedal across rolling hills, serene inland heaths, and along windswept shores, discovering hidden coves, rivers, and classic Cornish villages along the way. Delight in regional specialties, from famous Cornish pasties to stories of pirates and shipwrecks, with opportunities to visit castles, gardens, and seaside attractions. Routes are carefully selected to balance flat, traffic-free trails and more challenging hilly stretches, making this trip perfect for experienced cyclists or seniors seeking an engaging yet manageable challenge. The real highlight lies in the flexibility—tailor each day to your own pace and interests while enjoying the ease of pre-arranged lodging, meals, and support. For those wanting to see Cornwall at its authentic best, this cycle tour offers genuine immersion into the heart and soul of England’s southwest coast.

I’m not sure if I would recommend this area to cycle. Most of the time you are riding on roads with hedges either side also very hilly you definitely need an E bike. It’s called the coastal route though you are more concentrated on the road as it was very busy due to the holiday season. Having said that you do ride into beautiful villages the accom was great and people very friendly. I would definitely walk the area not ride.

Overall it was great. We were very lucky with weather. Only 1 day of bad weather. The bike company was excellent and there were no issues with the e-bikes. Route was good. Need to study the map for each day as this helps with locations of accommodation for each night and bike paths that get you off some of the busy roads. Glad we had e-bikes as some of the hills can be challenging. The accommodation was great.

Overall, it was great. We had very good weather. 1 day of rain. No bike issues. Generally, the route was good. Need to study each day on the map provided, as you can miss directions easy. Specially the side paths that get you out of the traffic on some of the busier roads and to your accommodation. Glad we had an e-bike that made the steeper hills easier as they can be steep. Accommodation was excellent.

Overall it was great-very lucky with weather and no bike issues-route was good and there were only 2 times where it took a few mins for phone to find me after sending me the wrong way-the only issues I had were first day getting to parranport and not being fully aware that st Agnes was still a reasonable ride further on-yes I could have researched more but first day you are getting used to things and in hindsight all the other towns you are riding too have accomodation icons on the route-maybe it could just be emphasised more?and all the accomodations were great but one in Penzance was a little step down-location good ,host nice guy but toilet seat broken ,basic breakfast in room top of coffee filter missing and towel edges frayed
