England Cultural, religious historic sites Tour Reviews
Honest insights from past guests on our Cultural, religious historic sites England tours
I loved this itinerary and we had a fantastic bunch of people on our bus The itinerary gives you a great taster of Britain and Scotland I particularly enjoyed the time we spent in Scotland The tour guide was exceptionally knowledgeable and helpful to all guests Our bus driver was highly skilled
The basic itinerary included a day in London at the beginning and end - we'd recommend staying an extra couple of days to see more of one of the world's greatest city. Stratford On Avon, ancient York, and Lake Windemere in the Lake District of England were all eye-opening, unforgettable. Seeing Gretna Green, Glasgow, Stirling and Edinburgh gave us a sense of knowing Scotland - we were sad to leave. The ferry to Northern Ireland was fun with lots of comfortable furniture and good food and drink. Belfast was an unexpectedly fun city to walk around and make discoveries. Our first time in Dublin was spent shopping and in a couple of great pubs, and walking through Trinity University and seeing the Book of Kels. Waterford's highlight was of course the cocktail reception at Waterford Crystal, and seeing ancient evidence of the Vikings. A giant ferry delivered us back to Wales, to stay a night in Cardiff and see the Castle. On our way back to London we spent a couple of hours wandering one of the world's most well-designed, beautiful cities - Bath. The last stop of the tour was just outside London - Windsor - where we walked up to the royal's castle through the streets of the same-named town. Dropped off at out hotel in a charming walkable neighborhood near Kew Gardens, we had a relaxing dinner at a canal-side cafe and reflected on what great value we had in this trip.
Literally the trip of a lifetime and I could’ve stayed longer with the people I met. I wasn’t sure contiki would be for me regarding the social aspect as my social battery can drain quickly however it absolutely exceeded my expectations in every way. I loved meeting my now new best friends and am still so sad that it’s over! The only bad part of the trip was saying goodbye. The care of our trip manager and driver was second to none, they went above and beyond for us on an organisation level as well as being so compassionate and checking in with how we are everyday. The free time add ons were all incredible, especially the paragliding and white water rafting in Austria. The Contiki Chateau and Contiki Haus were so memorable and a truly unique experience. I will never forget any of it and want to do it all again.
It is the longest Trafalgar tour however it covers SO much & gives a really good initial 'taste' of what Europe has to offer. We were very fortunate with great weather throughout the whole time, & the Tour Director was great & so very helpful throughout the whole journey. Good hotels, & I'm sure that all 32 on the bus had a very good time.
If you are looking for a tour that covers everything, then this is it! Absolutely amazing. I have so many comments on my photos and the places we have visited.
Just right ... go for it. Our tour guide was incredible ... a walking encyclopedia & our driver (with 40 years of experience) gave us a super smooth relaxing trip.
