It was good that we had 2 night stays at hotels but we found it difficult to cope with no air conditioning. I was thankful that my in ability to climb stairs was taken into consideration. The tour was very busy sometimes with long days, rushing to dinner. The tour Director was brilliant…he ensured that our tickets for the Edinburgh Tattoo could be exchanged for ambulant tickets. It was an awesome experience😊 also ensured that we had little treats of our culture, pics of Hairy Coos, walkers shortbread, whisky tasting experience, local Irish lolly. Hectic and tiring but did see lots of different experiences.
Sure
Our tour guide , *personal info removed by Feefo* was exceptional and professional. However, I was very disappointed with the tour itself. Even considering the fact that our tour was slowed considerably by traffic conditions I felt that not enough time was spent in some tour locations, most notably the Culloden battlefield. Because of timing and the drivers requirements we were not permitted to spend enough time at most locations. Also, the nights spent at the Craiglynne Hotel were very disturbing. The hot weather obviously could not be controlled, but not even a fan was available in the rooms. We had two rooms, one of which smelled strongly of sewer. It prompted us moving two mattresses from that room to the other in order to sleep. As well, there was nearly no water pressure in either shower and no hot water. In order to shower, we would have to wait until late at night in order to get a semi satisfactory water pressure and lukewarm water. I mentioned this to reception and was told that the boiler had to move water up three floors. I had looked forward to the tour up into the highlands, but I have to say that part of the itinerary was not what I expected.
It was fabulous. I would have liked more time to explore some of the stops. But I know exactly what I want to go back and revisit and things I don’t necessarily care about. The price points were INCREDIBLE. I feel like I got so much for what I spent. Everyone did an incredible job of making sure we got as much value out of the trip as possible.
We liked the itinerary and we saw quite a bit of the country. We were certainly kept busy. My problem was the ride to the airport in Glasgow. We were told that no coaches would be going that early. The one left the hotel five minutes after the shuttle we purchased. We are still waiting for our refund for that purchase!
The bus is not comfortable and small for the long trip.
Be prepared to walk steep inclines for long distances.
I recently completed the Best of Scotland tour Booking #C095768 and have a few comments. Our tour director was very nice and courteous, and quite knowledgeable. I do wish that he had offered a Ceilidh evening and dinner on an alternate night since the one that was originally listed as an optional experience was the same evening of the Edinburgh tattoo. I was really looking forward to attending Ceilidh. The tattoo was wonderful, however, and I would not have wanted to miss that. We did really enjoy the Be My Guest experience dinner at Craufurdlund Castle. I was surprised that our optional experiences payments went directly to . We felt that Trafalgar should have covered our transfer to the airport even though we left two days later. It should still be part of our package as we’ve paid for it. One of the days in the Highlands we went back to the hotel with extra time to relax, but I would rather have seen more or had more time at one of the stops. I’m not sure if our guides are not allowed to go into castles or locations, but I expected more use of the Vox headsets and narration. The Highlands hotel was very noisy, especially the first night. We could hear every step the guests above us took, ands doors slammed loudly. Overall, it was a great trip and I do enjoy traveling with Trafalgar.
There was a lot packed into this itinerary and some felt very rushed
All encompassing, a full agenda & hitting all major attractions all about bonnie Scotland. Tour guide was excellent, our driver was most qualified & my fellow tourists were international & fabulous.
