Scotland Hiking and Trekking Tours

Scotland is awash with spell-binding natural landscapes, from the Highlands to the Orkney Islands. And there is no better way to soak up these scenic, soul-stirring surroundings than on our Scotland hiking tours. So lace up your hiking boots and get ready to trek the length and breadth of this amazing nation. Craving some tranquil Highland hikes? Trek the Highland Trail on a 14-day walking adventure. Inspired by the hit 2014 Netflix series Outlander, this epic excursion encapsulates the country’s most breathtaking landscapes. If a long-distance trek down to England appeals, try the eight-day St Cuthbert’s Way. This cross-country foray winds between highlights like Cheviot Hills, Lindisfarne Castle and Holy Island. Alternatively, the Orkney Islands are a trekking mecca for their seal colonies and towering sandstone cliffs. And way up north, treks departing Ullapool traverse pristine lochs and fjords. Island-hopping treks combine ferries and two-footed transport, while walk and barge hiking holidays in Scotland let you overnight on a comfy river ship. The tour route was well documented. The disappointment, having booked a year before the walk, was the quality of some of the accommodation.

Well organised. Not so happy with some of the accommodation. It's very important to book your dinners well ahead of your trip. Hotels don't do this automatically.

We recently completed the Scotland Coast to Coast Walk and Barge. First of all, the staff were great, the food was amazing (thanks to Darren the Chef) and the walk was inspiring. We were on the Ros Crana — a lovely barge with ample room. My only suggestion for future participants is to make sure you do lots of hill training, as there are some steep climbs — but they are well worth the effort.

Beautiful scenery, lovely B&Bs and well-organised baggage transfer.

I can't speak highly enough of the crew. They created a thoroughly enjoyable experience and genuinely cared about those of us travelling on board. I loved everything about the trip. There was plenty of activity to be had or rest if that was what was needed. Boating life was wonderful and of course the ultimate highlight the 3 Lochs - Ness, Oich and Lochy and the majestic environment which we had the absolute pleasure of walking with an experienced guide. Walking the length of The Great Glen Way was an option rather than a must. I took the option of resting or walking a shorter distance when needed. Scotland you certainly made my heart sing. Huge thanks and appreciation to the crew.
