Best Time To Visit Scotland
Best Time To Visit Scotland

Scotland is on most people’s travel bucket list and for a good reason. When you get to Scotland, you will notice how the country both eschews and completely forgoes the clichés that surround its popularity—there are numerous ruined castles, rolling green hills as far as the eye can see, fields of purpled heather during the fall, and much more. Although some Scots might not like to acknowledge it, but there is a chance you will run into a bagpiper or two, especially during the celebrations.

Scottish history and culture are definitely a huge draw for the tourists, but there are a number of modern attractions you should not miss out on either—including outdoor music festivals, world-renowned restaurants, and more.

You must be extremely excited to plan your trip to Scotland, but before you go, you need to know what the best time to visit Scotland is. The country is cloud-cast for major parts of the year, but every season has its own specialties that you must not miss.

Great Scotland Itineraries: How Many Days to Spend?

The land of magnificent castles, exquisite modern designs, and maybe, just maybe, a certain mythical monster in Loch Ness, Scotland has an incredible array of attractions. Where else in the world can you absorb the rich cultural highlights of Edinburgh or Glasgow in the morning and be in the dramatic island landscapes of the Hebrides or Orkneys by dinner? Whether you explore the hiking trails of the Cairngorms and Loch Lomond on foot, tackle the North Coast 500 by campervan, or take the West Highland Rail Line over curving viaducts to Fort William, you are sure to head home with a newfound appreciation of Scotland.

The include guided tours are informative as they are conducted by local guides. The optional experiences were also well chosen by Insight.

I walked with a cane (awaiting a knee replacement within 2 weeks after the trip. Vivian and the group of travelers were very patient with me. I would suggest this trip for the healthier individuals. Sites were beautiful, but all the walking is a challenge if handicapped. I was very fortunate to be with our special group of 24 and having Vivian as our tour guide! Overall it was a wonderful trip!!!

The most beautiful country I have ever visited. I highly recommend this trip as it captures everything and beyond that Italy has to offer.

"Travel Matters" excursions are often just glorified shopping trips. Especially frustrating was going to a "oil/scent" shop for 2 hours
