Annapurna Base Camp Trek

First time in Nepal, and I quickly found that Nepalese people are wonderful, warm and welcoming, have incredible food and amazing mountains. Bal, my guide, and Nima, my porter, were wonderful throughout my solo 12 days hike to Poon Hill, ABC, and Mardi Himal. They both took great care of me, were always ahead on what was upcoming on our itinerary, and booked places that had excellent hospitality, food, and rooms. I had an amazing time with them and highly recommend them!!

The trek to Annapurna Base Camp was an unforgettable experience, full of breathtaking landscapes and moments I'll carry with me forever. We did this trip with Nomad, a Portuguese travel agency that organized everything with great care and professionalism. On the ground, we were guided by the amazing local team from Unique Adventure International - big thank you to them for making everything run so smoothly. Our main guide, Dev, was always professional, very kind, Nepali teacher, and fun to be around. Nima, one of the porters, stood out for being constantly present and willing to help - often accompanied the group with a calm, confident energy that made a big difference. Suman, also a porter, was a huge help throughout the trek, and Suzan, our photographer, captured some incredible moments and added great energy to the group. Dhanyavada to all the other porters! It was a truly special journey, and I highly recommend it to anyone who loves nature, culture, and adventure.

I did the Annapurna Base Camp trek with the help of this travel operator, and it was the best experience I could have wished for! Before arriving in Nepal, I had great communication with the company owner, Khum, via WhatsApp. He made preparations for the trek. It was super easy, answering all my questions quickly and clearly. His responsiveness gave me a lot of confidence before even starting the journey. During the trek, my guide Dev was absolutely amazing! His deep knowledge of the route and environment made me feel safe and supported the entire way—even in some pretty scary moments, like trekking through a snowstorm and avalanche danger zones. I would not have felt comfortable doing this trek alone, and I’m super grateful for his guidance, expertise, and great conversations along the way. As for the trek itself—it’s one of the most beautiful hikes I’ve ever done. The landscapes are constantly changing, from forests and charming mountain villages to snow-covered peaks. Reaching Annapurna Base Camp, surrounded by majestic mountains, was an unforgettable moment. I did the Annapurna base camp trek solo as a first trek. I had an excellent experience— communication beforehand was very clear and all my questions answered. Arrangements went smoothly from airport pick up to hotel and transport. I felt safe and well supported as a single woman. I was ill on the first day and both owner and guide were very caring. My guide, Sumba was lovely—he looked after me every step of the way and took care of all the practicalities. Also the porter Kiran. I was very grateful to him for carrying my bag all the way up to base camp! I was able to realise my dream and reach the base camp and it would not have been possible without them.

It was our first time to Nepal and trekking. Khum and Dev looked after us from start to finish. Dev organised everything day to day and looked after us in the mountains completely. He took us to wonderful tea houses and gave us a detailed briefing everyday. Dev re-organised out trip so than we could go to Chitwan at the end of our trekking. I can’t recommend Dev enough as a guide and we felt totally safe with him. Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful country with us.

We did the ABC trekking with Megendra from this local tour company and it was amazing! We had some great days, in what was our first trekking ever. The views were so beautiful and our guide was very kind and helpful. Megendra is a great guy and he is exactly the type of guide we were hoping for; energetic, friendly and always in for a laugh.

Very well prepared physically and mentally. A wonderful man who knows the history and culture of the region. He willingly shared his knowledge and answered all questions. The 8-day trek to the Annapurna Sanctuary was great. We were a group of 16 people with the best guide in the world. Elmi Biswakarma took care of us at the highest level. We always felt safe and that was the most important thing. I recommend our guide because he is a professional.

The planning phase communications were expedient and concise via email. Due to weather conditions I decided to wait in Kathmandu and see if I could fly to Lukla. The weather did not clear, and we started discussing options. This process, like the planning phase, was explained very clearly and I had several options. Understand that travel in Nepal, there may be circumstances beyond anyone’s control. I have found it is better to make the best available adjustment to your plans. Looking back those adjustments turned out perfect for my way. “A good traveler has no fixed plans and is not intent on arriving.” Sun Tzu I would like to say that my guide Elme did a great job of making sure I had clean water & sanitary food while trekking. What a trek! We were a little unfortunate with low cloud for the first few days of our trek, but by the time we’d reached the top it was perfectly clear. The view was well worth the wait! Throughout the trek, our guide, Bijay, and our porter, Dawa, were incredibly helpful. Bijay was very knowledgeable about not just the Annapurna region but all things Nepal. He made us feel very accommodated throughout, going out of his way to get anything we needed. Although not speaking much English, Dawa was always very cheerful and happy to help with anything we needed. Overall, an incredible experience that I would wholly recommend.

A truly brilliant trek, so many fantastic views. Hard work but worth it when you get to the top. The path is well trodden and you'll meet lots of friendly faces. Our guide Biijay was excellent. He pointed out landmarks and gave us background on the local culture, as well as a breadth of other information. He ensured we were cared for from start to finish, endeavouring to make sure all our needs were met. We also had a porter, Dawa, who put in a lot of good work to carry the bag we needed carrying. He didn't speak much English, but was always friendly and looking out for us, much like Biijay was. He was always willing to help.

I went to the ABC trek in late-February 2023, which was unforgettable, with professional help from my guide Namgel and porter Sona. I was lucky to hike before the peak season and enjoyed every peaceful moment in the mountains. The view of Annapurna covered in snow during the late-winter season is gorgeous.

Most beautiful thing l've ever seen. I had hesitations trying to find the right one coming from Australia and having no idea, but going off reviews like this I chose to go through this agency and was given Dev the guide and so thankful I was. For the last 10 days I saw things that I can't put into words and at times wanted to cry. It was truly amazing, from the Mountains, to the people, the animals, to the environment. I also booked 3 days before hand and although it may have been a stretch on their end (sorry) they had no problems making it happen and being flexible 🏔️

I did Annapurna base camp trek last year with brilliant guide Megendra and really enjoyed it.

I really enjoy the trip and tour arranged by this local tour operator. First, the price is really nice compare to others. At the same time, the service they provided is amazing. The manager, staff and the guide they provided can speak English fluently and they explained everything clearly. I went to ABC trekking with them. The trip was amazing, and their service definitely improve the whole quality of the experience. I love to find them again.

I’ve travelled and worked all over the world, and this trip has definitely been a huge highlight of my life. Everything was planned brilliantly, and our guide and porters were so kind, friendly, efficient and just amazing. The trip itself was spectacular, the scenery beautiful and the culture mesmerizing. While in Nepal, there was a snow in, in a different region, and Khum worked tirelessly to organizer helicopters and get the trekkers out, with huge success. You can feel that you are in safe hands when dealing with this company. I will definitely be back to Nepal to visit again, and will definitely use this local travel specialist.

This is my second time in Nepal, did the EBC before, which was good. yet the ABC was stunning, beautiful scenery everyday! all types of weather and different Fauna and Flora everyday. My guide Prim (super recommended) adjusted the iternary a little bit to provide even more scenic waking up views.

It was great experience to do this Annapurna Base Camp trek. I had to cut my trip short but the landscape and journey were still memorable.

Great trek and great guide/porter provided by the tour company. Trail is quite diverse in scenery and definitely recommended. Generally sunrise is the most beautiful so Poonhill and base camp sunrise should be a must if you're in the area.

I was looking around for a great experience during my stay in Nepal. Something I hadn't done before. I stumbled across the famous Annapurna Base Camp trek by accident but knew in an instant, this is it! First I thought about going out into the streets of Thamel and look for a good traveling agency. But, I thought to myself, I want this to be perfect, so I went on the internet and found Bookmundi. Now, Bookmundi recommended this trekking company .From day one the company took good care of my group and me. We arranged shortening our trip to 10 days instead of 12. This we did so we could spend more time in Pokhara. A great idea if I look back on it now. The guide and my guide in training (porter) were two awesome guys with a good knowledge about the trekking area. We had many laughs and had so much fun together. The trek itself is a real adventure which takes a hold of you the moment you venture out to Nayapul. The company made it into a smooth ride and I am very thankful for that. The overall experience was great and I recommend booking with this company.

Me and my boyfriend had a great experience on this trek. Right after we arrived in the country, we were invited to the office of the tour operator, and from the moment we met our guide Dawa he took great care of us. Transportation and hotels/teahouse were well arranged, we were given good advice on what to wear and eat (it was our first ever trek) and got to see beautiful views. Without our guide and porter Pasang we would have never made it up to ABC. Next to keeping us safe and comfortable, they were also good company. I'd recommend this agency and Dawa to everybody!

We had a great experience trekking with this tour operator. After our arrival in Nepal, we got a warm welcome in their office. Our guide Dawa took great care of us right from that moment. The transportation was comfortable, and the hotel in Pokhara as well as all the tea houses we encountered on our trek were of good quality. Even though we were traveling in the busiest season, Dawa arranged private rooms in all but one place. Not only did he arrange comfortable sleeping places, he also kept us safe and feeling good during the days while we were trekking difficult parts, or when we were getting to higher altitudes. For our first trek ever, it was great to have everything arranged so well, and to get answers to any questions we had very quickly. Without our guide and porter (shout out for carrying our load as well as staying happy and nice company at all times) there is no way we would have made it up to ABC, but together with them we managed just fine. When were going back (and after seeing the beauty of the Himalayas we definitely will be back) we will use this operator again!

This is review and my personal impressions of 12 days Annapurna Base camp trek booked thru this tour operator with fantastic guide Dharma Subedi. It was my first trek in Himalayas, and it was really visually beautiful and fulfilling experience. Technically trekking starts near Pokhara ( Naya Pool to be exact - 1.5 hrs drive from Pokhara ) and last for 10 days, and because I was based in Kathmandu 2 more days were added for tourist bus ride between those places. The ride is on its own an interesting experience, and agency made sure seat was on the right side of the bus, allowing me to enjoy beautiful views. it takes 8 hours and road is quite bumpy, but defiantly worth it. I was accompanied by another trekker ( young girl from Hong Kong ) and her porter. Usually groups are much bigger, but beginning of June is off season and I was happy with this particular arrangement. My intentions were purely to disconnect from the busy life ( including internet ) and connect to the surroundings. I have also carried camera and gimbal to document the whole trip. Trek itself is not difficult, or technical, but if you carry your own little bit heavy backpack it can be challenging. You basically climb and descend hundreds of meters of elevation daily ( predominantly stairs ) oscillating between 2500m and 4100m for most of the time. One of the few people I have met on the way asked why pay for the guide when you can walk yourself. It is true, but I do not regret doing so in this particular case. Dharma is one of the most experienced and knowledgeable people you can hire in this area, and was really helpful choosing great places to eat and stay ( which were included in the price ). He answered hundreds of questions and interacted with local people, translating and helping to better understand their culture. He speaks good english, and he likes to throw a joke or two from time to time. Very positive and helpful person. Because I was slower than other trekker ( due to heavy backpack, age and different aim of the journey ) Dharma adopted his speed to mine and let other person and porter go first making both sides happy. Overall the whole trip was one of the most beautiful experiences of my life. Both ways - as a part of the personal journey ( looking into myself ), and time spent on admiring and contemplating external beauty of the Himalayas.

Trek was great had some awesome views and perfect weather at base camp and poon hill. Our guide Megendra did an awesome job of keeping us safe, warm, dry, and well fed. He is very ambitious, passionate about trekking and knowledgable for hes age. We did have one problem during the trek with one of the guest houses in Upper Dovan, they had a rodent infestation and you could hear rats running through the walls and we saw one in our room. - not really the fault of the guide or company however but i would reccomend not staying in that guest house if u have the option.

Wonderful overall experience. Both guide and porter provided great and service throughout the entire trip and were always kind and caring to me and all other trekkers who followed me in the path to ABC. The Trekking experience was amazing - a journey through rich jungles and impressive mountain landscapes, the beauty of it all almost made you forget about all the stairs you had to climb and descend... - Food in general always good - the quality of the guesthouses varied along the trek.. usually the closer you get to ABC the more the basic the services become. In some occasions, I wondered whether it would have been possible to lodge at better guesthouses than the ones we chose... but that I guess is the only limitation of having to rely on others to book the accommodations.

Just finished my Annapurna base camp trek - safe to say i wont be forgetting about it any time soon. What a fantastic and very challenging! experience. My guide Dawa was superb throughout, always there to help in any query i had and Im convinced hes the fittest man on the planet! Views were spectacular and well worth the long march up. Would recommend to anyone has the dream of seeing the Himalayas up close and personal.

This trek met very well my expectations. In the beginning visibility was rather bad and afternoons were rainy. We skipped Poon Hill because of the clouds. I enjoyed very much walking in rhodorendron forests between Chorepani and Chomrong. When we reached ABC the weather was perfect good visibility and no clouds at all. Our group worked very well and we enjoyed trekking together. After daily treks we had nice pastime e.g. playing cards.

We were a group of 6 people who did the Annapurna Base Camp Trek. Everything was very good organized. We were picked up at the airport and brought to our hotel in Kathmandu. Then we had a short meeting in the agency where we discussed which stuff we need for the trek. Then we went together with our guide Raju and the porters per bus to Pokhara. Next day we started trekking after a2-hour jeep drive. We didnt have a good weather forecast and lots of snow at the ABC, but Raju organized everything perfect during our trek. Due to that we managed to almost reach the lodges dry and the most important, we had perfect sight at poon hill and ABC. At dangerous places because of avalanches we started early in the morning to pass it safely. Included nice lodges with good food and much better view and beer. I would do the trek again and recommend to friends and colleagues...

Me and my friend went on the Annapurna Base Camp trek and it was a really fantastic experience! I have never trekked before, and for me it was an excellent first time trek with ABC. Our guide was very helpful and if we were feeling a bit exhausted or nauseous he was very sweet and patient with us. When we arrived to the guesthouses we sat and played cardgames with the guide, the porters and another trekker, very funny and cozy! Unfortunately the guide was a bit persistent with us writing a review, but all in all, it was an amazing experience and i highly recommend Migendra !!
