My boyfriend and I had an absolutely fantastic time, with great walking and good company in a beautiful setting. The Cortijo was very neat and tidy, and superbly run by Bill, Anne, Maria, Rocio, Anna and Juan. The food was fantastic, even the packed lunches with rolls the size of your head! Roger was a star leader: very knowledgeable and always game for a laugh. All in all, a perfect balance of sightseeing, exercise in the fresh air, relaxation and indulgence. We would happily return to do it all over again!

The walking route was nicely maintained, with the mix of hikes across the island. I literally have seen all the gems of La Gomera! The extra days on the beach after almost a week of hikes was amazing as well. It was my first self-guided walking tour, I was a bit concerned if I’ll be able to complete (not being really super fit), but it went so good - instructions are well written, it was easy to follow and on the route my hiking shoes and walking sticks helps a million. Walking Granada and in Las Alpujarras was an amazing walk, in beautiful autumn weather. The region and its villages was fascinating, the accommodation and food commendable. This was an amazing trip. Varied and interesting hiking, experienced authentic southern Spain, amazing history. Hosts in all the places we stayed were excellent, accommodations were stellar! And a special mention of the hosts at Posada San Marcos (Alajar) who coordinated the transportation, were helpful and knowledgeable about the area and provided a wonderful 3 night stay at the end of the trip.

Tour leader was first rate, best I have ever had on any tour. Hotels one - Casa Rural de Los Camellos, Aguimes. Beautiful characterful buildings and interior courtyard, breakfast OK, staff welcoming and responsive, aircon unreliable. Hotel two - La Aldea suites, La Aldea. Quality modern hotel with well appointed rooms and a pool, superior breakfast, staff welcoming and responsive. Walking was excellent. Two particularly spectacular days in the pine forested areas (to Roque Nublo and down from P. de Las Nieves). Other days held some interest and a few little surprises. Hair pin bends from start to finish on any journey across the island interior, but all adds to the experience.
