We chose this trip as we had visited Kathmandu in 2011 but had always wanted to get out into the countryside. This trip was a diverse mixture of culture and scenery. We enjoyed revisiting the temples and squares in Kathmandu, but also appreciating the mountains and scenery, especially a Pokhara. The clear views of the mountain ranges were amazing and breathtaking. We enjoyed the Chitwan park and saw lots of birds and rhinos, but unfortunately no tigers, but we didn't really expect to. Our tour guide and the local guides were all great with their knowledge and experience. It was a discovery, thank you

One of the best holidays I have been on with Explore. The guide was excellent - it was a big group and he managed everyone incredibly well. He was very knowledgeable, attentive and very proud of his country. If anyone had a suggestion or something they wanted included, he would make it happen. It would be great if Explore could offer a wider range of activity holidays to Nepal. Perhaps a wildlife/cultural tour? I would highly recommend this tour.

Amazing Adventure. Wadi Rum and Petra were incredible. The leader Saleh was very knowledgeable and paid attention to each of the group. He was very patient and helpful. Great sense of humour which brought the group closer. The itinary was great so it’s the two camps we stayed. I would absolutely recommend the trip!

We saw and learned so much on this tour, with its good mix of urban and rural, and focus on temples, shrines, and pilgrimage paths. Our tour leader (Jared) was excellent -- friendly, fun and extremely well organized. The stay at the ryokan and the Kumano Kudo sections were amazing. The majority of the accommodation was great, and I loved all our group lunches and dinners. The tour is full on, and I wonder if the itinerary could be tweaked a bit -- I sometimes felt a little rushed, such as the day of the hike on the Nakasendo Way, when we were hustling past the stunning scenery to catch the train. But these are small things and I would definitely book again with Explore!

I had a fabulous time in Jordan.Walking on soft sand in the desert was really tough and bonded the group beautifully. The Bedoin camps were magical - sleeping under the stars. We even rode camels.Petra was stunning and walking in the back route via the Monastry was amazing. The highlight for me was swimming in the Dead Sea and bathing in mud. An experience I will never forget.A visit to Jerash finished our tour which was a perfect mix of action and sites.I thoroughly recommend it.

The trip was very good value for money. The amount of places we saw and the people we met was great. The Jordanians are lovely people and the country is very safe. We got a very warm reception from Jordanians. A few practical tips for anyone thinking of going. You do not need sleeping bag liners, a filter bottle or a toilet roll. All bedding is provided in the camps, bottled water is supplied throughout the trip by the guide, there was always toilet paper at the camps and everywhere else. Do not fill your case with stuff you don’t need as I did. Do take a mug as tea/coffee is always available in the camps and handy to have for eco reasons. We had no mosquitos. Mid October weather was hot in the day and cooler, but not particularly cold, at night. The camping was tent/huts and we all had our own huts no sharing needed. They all had electric lights and at Petra there were plugs too. The food was copious and very nice plenty of salads and vegetables for any vegetarians. The days that dinner or lunch not included our guide took us to a local restaurant. A meal was 12 dinars so not expensive. No alcohol except in Madaba and Amman. Delicious lemon and mint drinks on offer. The camel ride at wadi rum was great fun. The walks were long but not much climbing as such and the terrain very sandy and scenery amazing. We had 14 people in our group. Several solo travellers so it is ok to go alone as all activities group ones. Our guide Zuhair was very helpful and informative. We were well looked after. I would recommend this trip the camping in the desert for 4 nights was wonderful.
