India Walking Trips

The trip was as described. Kerala is beautiful and varied. Good mix of settings and activity: treks (2), ambles, houseboat mini-cruise, cookery class, dance performance, bit of sightseeing and shopping time. It was a good group: they always are. The food was great. Tour leader was excellent, hardworking and fun and he project-managed a complex roster of guides, cooks, drivers and hosts. One or two glitches e.g. accommodation were quickly sorted.

A fabulous trip with some truly spectacular scenery on the hikes. The camping was superb, a real highlight, as were the hotels and itinerary. My only 2 critiques would be that the 3rd and 4th hikes were classed as moderate, but at altitude and in the heat, they were quite challenging - although totally worth it! Also, the houseboat was a little grubby and the delicious Keralan cuisine a little watered down in terms of spice to cater for a more international palette! Kerala is a dream and thank you to Tinu for keeping our large group in check and showing off his beautiful home state to us all. We had a fabulous trip, our love affair with India continues and we can’t wait for our next adventure with Explore!

Our 10 days luxury India tour is fantastic, The driver was perfect, always punctual, polite, and ensured safe travel throughout. This trip exceeded all my expectations. The stillness and solitude of the terrain. The beauty. The glacial ascent. My first time at altitude-and I loved it. Valerie, is a very wise, steady and trusted lead-a humble holder of stories and knowledge. And great food and guides too. And a wonderful group spirit. I could not have asked for more.

My first high-altitude hike - the Nubra Valley trek - and all I can say is WOW! With Valerie Parkinson as our tour leader, we were set up for an unforgettable adventure from day one. The incredible cook, knowledgeable guides, and fantastic camp crew made every moment a joy. If you’re thinking of exploring the Nubra Valley, you simply can’t go wrong with this trip. The only challenge now? Deciding on my next adventure!

I would like to share my deepest gratitude and recognition for the professionalism and excellent services I received, especially from Mr. Jainendra Sigh, during my recent trip to India. Mr. Jainendra who organized the trip both by air and land, made arrangements in lovely Heritage hotels, which food and services were outstanding, and an impeccable white car that Mr. Kumar drove. At the same time Mr. Jainendra provided me with a guide every time I arrived to a new city, and was able to visit the lavished monuments as well as its beautiful people. Mr. Jainendra listened to what I wanted and planned every single day according to my interest. Mr. Kumar, with his white and impeccable car drove me around India, from Udaipur to Ranakpur, to Jodhpur, to Pushkar, to Samond, to Jaipur, to Agra and finally New Delhi, was a smooth and happy ride. Every day, Mr. Kumar had a big smile, and his driving knowledge and experience was excellent. I am a photographer and he would kindly stop wherever there was a shot for me to take, and drove through places that were out of this world. I have to add there was always cold water in the car. I took a plane from New Delhi to Varanase and from Vanaranse to Udaipur. I hope to be back in India soon, but in the mean time I am planning a trip to Cambodia and Vietnam with the team.
