Affordable Asia Tours

1,161 reviews on bookmundi

Asia is one of the easiest regions to travel affordably, but “budget” means different things depending on where you go. Vietnam, Thailand, Cambodia, Nepal and India offer the strongest value, while Japan and South Korea need a higher daily budget but can still be managed with smart routing. Bookmundi features hundreds of affordable Asia tours starting from USD 19 per day, covering Southeast Asia, South Asia, East Asia and Central Asia. Compare each package carefully, as flights, visas, optional activities, single supplements and some meals may not be included.

Asia Budget Travel Tips

Choose the right region before choosing the cheapest tour

The cheapest Asia tour is usually in Southeast Asia, India or Nepal, not Japan or South Korea. Start with destination economics first. Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos and India keep food, accommodation and overland transport low. Japan can still be good value, but it belongs in a different budget category. Comparing them as if they are the same is how bad planning starts.

Stay single-country if the trip is short

For seven to ten days, one country is usually better than three. Vietnam alone can fill ten days with Hanoi, Halong Bay, Hue, Hoi An and Ho Chi Minh City. Thailand alone can combine Bangkok, Chiang Mai and the islands. Multi-country routes are better once travelers have at least two weeks.

Use shoulder season, but respect monsoon differences

Asia does not have one weather calendar. Vietnam, Thailand, Nepal, Japan and India all behave differently by month. Shoulder season can lower prices, but monsoon timing matters. Thailand’s islands differ by coast, Nepal trekking has better windows in spring and autumn, and Japan gets expensive during cherry blossom and autumn foliage. Cheap dates are not cheap if weather ruins the route.

Compare inclusions, not just daily price

A USD 45-per-day tour can become expensive if it excludes airport transfers, entrance fees, local guides, meals and key activities. In Cambodia, Angkor passes matter. In Nepal, trekking permits and guide support matter. In Japan, rail and local transport matter. Read the inclusion list before trusting the headline price.

Control internal flights

Internal flights are the silent budget killer in Asia. They are sometimes necessary, especially in India, Indonesia, the Philippines and multi-country routes, but they should not be casual. Every flight adds airport transfers, luggage rules, waiting time and disruption risk. Overland routes through Vietnam, Thailand, Cambodia and Nepal usually protect the budget better.

Use food as a savings tool, not a punishment

Asia is one of the easiest regions for eating well on a budget. Street food, markets, noodle shops, thali meals, rice dishes and local cafés can keep costs low without making the trip feel deprived. The trap is eating in hotel restaurants and tourist-zone Western cafés every day. Spend on one memorable food experience, not three average tourist meals.

The tour was excellent as was our guide Ashish. We toured New Delhi ahead of the January 26th Independence Day and saw grand boulevards and temples. We traveled to Jaipur by bus to see the ancient city and rode an elephant to the entrance. Later we visited a jewelry maker to learn about the gems from India and see examples of jewelry for sale. Next we went to Agra to see the Taj Mahal which was stunning. From there we went to Ranthambhore National Park to see tigers in the wild. I would suggest this trip for seasoned travelers as the winter air can cause irritation and the crowds of enthusiast street venders can be a bit much.

This was a trip of a lifetime. From the Taj Mahal, the Hotair Balloon ride, the beautiful mosques and temples of Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism and learning the customs and culture of a very happy humble and honest people, there is no way I could fault any portion of this trip. Finding a tiger is pretty special, too.

Everything about this incredible tour was over the top. Especially our tour guides who added unexpected delights each day. The accommodations were good to great, the options plentiful, the size of the group manageable with space to spread out. Pre and post extensions were first rate. My first, but certainly not last Collette tour.

The inclusion of the program gave me an objective opportunity to feel and immerse in the culture. Ashish, the leader of articulation, culture, was leading for the 2 weeks; consistency, energy; exceptional. Ashish, enlivened the energy of the tour group. The energy, stimulation, openness of the tour group and Ashish; crossing borders and boundaries in formed and open cultural beliefs; attitudes were electric to recharge, openness of seeing new perspectives. This tour was a 10 in awakening, exposure. In gratitude privileged for the opportunity.

India was incredible

What a brilliant couple of weeks we had in India. Everything was taken care of without worry, feeling safe and free to take in all the trip had to offer. It was very full on with little time for rest. Our full recommendation to anyone looking to cover lots of Rajasthan and the Pushkar fest.

Unforgettable experience

Good itinerary that had a mix of planned activities and free time. Having the tour guide met us in boracay before our meeting point in cebu for the next leg of the tour was also really nice and made moving about seamless. Activities included the more well known things people do which was nice and we had free time to decide what else we wanted to do. It was also nice that the planned activities were almost always a private tour just for our group so we weren’t in a big group with other people. All the accommodations were pretty nice especially in siargao and bohol and in very central locations.
