Walking tours are an excellent way to discover authentic Vietnam. The delightful flavors, changing colors and many moods of Hanoi’s Old Quarter are best experienced on foot. Admire the morning sunlight falling on the old yellow buildings and 19th-century communal houses as you pass the vibrant market, stroll around the Imperial Citadel of Thang Long, and stop by a hole-in-the-wall for a delicious cup of traditionally roasted coffee. Explore Ho Chi Minh City like a local by wandering around its small alleys, stopping by the Chinese medicine market, and sipping ice-cold herbal tea. There are top-rated Vietnam walking tours far away from the cities, like in the islands of the Mekong Delta. Walk on the river bank, discover Khmer pagodas and interact with local communities. Vietnam Walking Tour Reviews

Honest insights from past guests on our Walking Vietnam tours

Review of Cambodia tour (Tour Guide: Hul)

The Cambodia tour was incredible from start to finish. Finishing on the party island with a few beers and a beach festival was the perfect way to end the trip! Our favourite part was meeting all the locals (Hul's friends and family) as well as experiencing how they live. I can’t recommend this tour enough, an unforgettable experience in an amazing country

Cambodia

The past 10 days with these guys have been nothing short of unforgettable. From start to finish, every moment was packed with adventure, good vibes, and memories I’ll be holding onto forever. But what truly made this trip incredible was our tour guide, Nana. Nana wasn’t just a guide—he was the heart of the trip. His energy, humor, and genuine care for every single person in the group brought us all together like a little travel family. Whether we were chasing waterfalls, dancing on the beach, or just sharing laughs over dinner, he made every experience feel special. From stunning sunsets to wild nights out, peaceful boat rides to adrenaline-pumping activities, each day brought something new. We explored, connected, and lived fully in the moment. I met amazing people, stepped out of my comfort zone, and made memories that will last a lifetime. Can’t wait for the next one.

A highly enjoyable trip that is superior to other offerings. The most distinct advantage of this tour is walking through Vietnam in a comfortable manner and pace. The tour explores villages in Vietnam that highlight both the rural life and natural beauty in various parts of Vietnam (North, Central, South). The second part of the tour that covers Cambodia adds a cultural element to the entire trip that is somewhat lacking in Vietnam. The entire experience is enhanced by small group sizes.

I would definitely recommend this tour, greatly enhanced by our excellent tour guide, Hung, who was incredibly helpful, patient and enthusiastic as well as very informative. Our various local guides were also all very good. There was a good mixture of rural and city walks (without too much time spent in a bus) which included seeing local crafts and industry plus sights of historical interest. The highlights for me were the two day long hikes, one in Py Long Nature Reserve and the other in the hills leading to the Cham temples. Also, staying at the retreat in Py Long, plus the homestay in the Mekong delta were a real chance to see local life. Other walks involving walking from village to village, were also very interesting. My only criticisms would be that, as this was advertised as a walking holiday, it would have been good to have has more countryside hikes, and had less time in cities, particularly Hanoi and Hoi An, both of which were very busy and touristy.

Cambodia Tour

Hul our guide in Cambodia was absolutely amazing!! Couldn’t fault him. He made the trip so fun and was always there to support the group with whatever we needed. He was great to be around, always smiling, always so helpful, so friendly and upbeat, he definitely made my experience in Cambodia extra special and more enjoyable. He was very knowledgable about Cambodia and everything in general. He looked after us so well, his passion and enjoyment for his job, his country and life was so infectious. I couldn’t recommend Hul enough! The Cambodia trip was great, lots of variety, including culture, history, temples, partying, water parks and more. It was a fantastic way to experience all that Cambodia has to offer!

The trip gave a comprehensive tour of some of the main sights in Vietnam. The walking elements in Pu Luong, the hike to My Son temple, and the Mekong Delta were highlights, as was Hanoi. Most of the other walks were sightseeing tours in the cities. Our guide Juan was very organised and professional, and his insights into the history and people were very interesting. The standard of the accommodation was very good. The walking was very sedate and would be doable for almost all travellers. As an introduction to the country, it ticked all the boxes.
