Langtang Valley Trek is a treasure for young adults and seasoned travelers eager to explore the tranquil beauty north of Kathmandu. Nestled between towering Himalayan ranges, this circuit blends mountain grandeur with rich cultural encounters.
Highlights include trekking through vibrant rhododendron and bamboo forests, soaking in hot springs, and spotting wildlife like red pandas and exotic birds. The route passes Tamang villages, Langtang Village, and the friendly Sherpa settlement near Kyanjing Gompa, where Himalayan views peak at their finest.
At Gosainkunda lake, trekkers witness unforgettable sunrises before crossing the Laurebinayak pass (4,609m). Designed for those able to walk 5–6 hours daily, the tour’s unique selling point is its harmonious blend of natural splendor and cultural immersion—making for a richly rewarding adventure in Nepal’s heartland.
My husband and I just completed the 8-day Langtang Valley trek! We were guided by the amazing expert Ramesh, and our superman porter (and skillful jeep driver) Suresh. We had such a great time and are feeling very accomplished. We feel fortunate to have had these fellows with us as they made the trip so much more fun and interesting. They were patient, funny and never seemed annoyed at my very slow rate of both ascent and descent. Ramesh guided my husband Kevin up Tsergo Ri at an early hour while Suresh showed me around Kenjin Gompa and the yak cheese factory, and helped me while I had some mild altitude sickness. I felt like we were traveling with pals rather than hired hands. The trek itself was amazing. We had perfect weather and made excellent time despite my slowness! We ended up finishing a day early, and so on Ramesh’s suggestion we headed to Chisopani so we could ring in the new year with a mountain sunrise. It ended up being cold and cloudy, but keeping warm at the campfire talking with the guys was one of my most memorable moments of the trip. With this tour operator, you are well taken care of and you will have such a great experience!
Trekking is very beautiful, easy and with a variety of landscapes. Highly recommended to use the jeep instead of the public transportation. Tea Houses have very high standard compare to other areas, no need to pack big luggage.
Planning, pace, preparatons all went 100% and better. We couldnt have wished for a better guide and sherpa
I did the 8 day Langtang valley trek with a friend in early december and we had a great experience altogether.
Recommended for novice trekkers but quite challenging for older people with 1000m elevation gain each day on rough trails. Poles are a "must have". Trail opens up after 2nd day which is great for viewing the scenery. Views in Kyanjin spectacular. Primitive lodgings, especially at Lama Hotel. Expect to share squattie toilets and have few western comforts such as lighting, hot water etc. Take water purification tablets and water bladders since all supplies (including mineral water) are packed in by donkeys or porters. Road to Syabrubesi is terrible so take a reliable jeep rather than the bus. Expect at least 1 flat tire each way.
Different kind of landscapes, from jungle to pastures and snowy peaks, always amazing. Not crowdy but you won't walk more then 2 hours without find small villages, where you can sleep and eat. The only bad side is the road to get to Syabrubesi. Local bus takes 8 hours and makes is way through landslides. Jeep is safer.
This was my first trekking in high altitude and the experience was amazing. The view of the mountains is just incredible. But the best part of the trek was the Eco Nepal Adventure team. Their professionalism and knowledge made us an unforgettable experience!. Sandeep (our guide) gave us a lot of information along the trekking, he was always making sure that we were feeling good and enjoying the experience and I learned a lot of the Nepali culture thanks of the information he was giving us...And our wonderful porters Omir and Mandev, who were a big help to make our walk up easier. We where all inlove of our porter Mandev, he is the nicest, happiest and funniest person that I met. The night we arrived at Kyanjin Gompa (3900) Mandev was so excited entertained us the whole evening with his dances and Nepalis songs! He made us laugh the whole week. I would recommend this trek, the guide Sandeep and the porters Mandev and Omir a 100%
The Langtang Valley trek is a perfect beginners trek for people who are curious about trekking. It's not an easy trek and it will make you sweat but is manageable for most.
Loved the trek and the Sandeep went above and beyond to ensure we enjoyed our stay.
Excellent trek, with amazing landscape. The only point which I would change would be to keep an open schedule for the way up. Many people felt high altitude sickness symptoms, so it would be positive to break up the way up in more one-two days, to allow for proper acclimatisation. To have a fixed trek schedule is not the best to deal with altitude acclimatisation. Apart from this, everything was excellent.
I am a large , 55yr old man. Not Extremely fit . Ace made this work for me and was always Extremely professional and kind. I would have paid double had i known they were so willing to do so much more than simply lead us up. Folks, this was a team of hard working professionals that made sure i had the best opportunity to make it. I did...which was not the case for those that did not heed their advice. Kirk Brewer... I arrived to Kathmandu already very late at night and I had to be at 6AM next day in the tour company's office. Fortunately, in the hotel I booked, I already had one guide waiting for me with the sleeping bag and down jacket I asked from them. That was a immediate boost in my trust. Before my departure to Nepal, Chhatra Karki was very helpful and replied to each one of my emails very quickly. I made the langtang valley trek during 8 days, including the 2 days bus trip, and I couldn't be more happy. Not only with the amazing scenery, but also with the organization of it and with my guide, Shyam Basnet. He is a very experience guide with an extensive knowledge about the trekking routes and always ready to help and give you some advice. I highly recommend this company.
