This is a great trip for experienced mountain bikers. The guide , China is a very experienced mountain biker, competition level skills. The terrain is mixed to say the least from small boulders to potholed city roads to heavily scored mud roads. The hill climbs are steep but the fabulous views, sunrises and sunsets are worth it. We looked at the 12 to 65 age range and thought that it would be ok for moderate ability town and level trail cyclists. A big no. My husband was a far stronger cyclist and coped well but I struggled on days 1 and 2. Luckily, China guided me through and modified the route to save excessive climbs.. There was certainly a lot of hiking up hills . You need to take your gear because of the inaccessibility of the towns. I would say this is not for teenagers except good mountain bikers . Nargakot is not as scenic as my husband remembered from years back. Views are not good from Ecohome hotel , in fact make sure you do NOT stay there. No hot shower, poor food and service.
