This hiking tour was excellent, with a great mix of beautiful coastal scenery, mountain views, and fascinating historical sites along the route. Every day seemed to offer something different, whether it was a dramatic stretch of coastline, ancient ruins, or a traditional village. A big part of what made the trip so enjoyable was our guide, Alper. He was not only extremely knowledgeable about the hiking and logistics, but also provided historical and cultural context throughout the trip. In fact, I learned more from him about the region's history and culture than I have from many guides on tours that were specifically focused on those subjects. The final day was a perfect way to end the trip. We took a boat excursion to Kekova and the sunken city, with time to explore the beautiful village of Simena, which was one of the surprises of the trip for me. The swimming stops were wonderful, the lunch on board was delicious, and the scenery was spectacular. The trip concluded with an incredible home-cooked dinner prepared by Alper's wife, which felt like a very special and personal touch. Finally, we were fortunate to have a fantastic group of fellow travelers. Everyone got along well, and the camaraderie added a lot to the overall experience. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone looking for a combination of excellent hiking, history, culture, and beautiful scenery.
This trip was awesome, hard yakka but our leader Emre and the great local organisation made it a faultless trip. The dry humour of the Turks was evident and the hotels/food/weather exceeded expectations. Definitely do this trip
Tour leader Emre was excellent. Organised, passionate, knowledgeable, frequently checking with us his clients and transparent about where the tip fund was going. I found the conditions underfoot, weaving between boulders and bushes on loose rubble testing. Concentrating on balance and foot placement for hours at a stretch, as on Day 5 to Kas, reduces your capacity to enjoy the views and the walk. I understand that raising this issue with potential customers unused to such conditions without putting them off is a delicate balancing act but that's why you employ marketing departments. Overall, very well organised and while I'd have liked to be part of a bigger group (just 4 in mine) good fun.
Excellent holiday with Explore. Well organised, as described with comfortable accommodation. I’ve seen previous reviews that said there were bedbugs at the village stay. There weren’t any. My daughter, an entomologist, checked and there were a few harmless shield bugs in the room, which we suspect someone misidentified. The village stay was spotlessly clean, the family hospitable and the food excellent. The holiday was made extra special by our guide, Nebil. He was incredibly knowledgeable about both ancient and modern Turkish history, a huge animal lover who thrives in the natural world. He kept a very mixed group very happy and had built great relationships along the trail meaning we had great places to stop and have a Turkish tea, a cooling ice cream or an evening meal. I can highly recommend this trip.

Our trip starts today in Fethiye, a thriving coastal town that's home to remains of the ancient Lycian city of Telmessos. There are no other activities planned today, so you're free to arrive at any time. If you'd like an airport transfer, you'll need to arrive into Dalaman Airport (DLM) which is a one-hour drive away. For those arriving in time, our tour leader will meet you in the hotel reception at 7pm for the initial tour briefing. Afterwards, there'll be the option to have dinner at a nearby restaurant. Should you miss the welcome meeting, our tour leader will inform you of any essential information as soon as you catch up. The main trip briefing will normally take place on the morning of day 2 due to some late flight arrivals. If your flight arrives earlier in the day, there'll be the opportunity to take a walk to the Fethiye Archaeological Museum before continuing up to the Amyntas Tomb, cut into the cliffs behind the town. There's an impressive Greco-Roman theatre to be discovered too. In the old centre, known as Paspatur, there's a traditional Turkish Bath that would make a great start to the holiday, too.
