This was the 5th Back Roads tour that I did back to back and being a short tour it was the perfect way to end my time in the UK. Terry Gibson is an excellent guide. He is very knowledgeable and took on board any requests from the guests in the group. He happily tweaked the itinerary when everyone expressed an interest in something other than what was detailed in the itinerary. He was happy to help guests if they needed it as was Phil the driver. They worked well together as a team to help make lovely memories for our group. Thank you Back Roads :-).

Excellent tour guide with a passion for history and the UK, presented in a relaxed but professional way. Choice of towns in the Cotswolds was excellent. I thoroughly recommend this tour.

We had an excellent tour led by Terry who was very responsive in adjusting the tour when he could to make us happy. Lots of little villages in the Cotswolds made us very happy.

Our family of four - Dad, Mom and 2 adult daughters enjoyed the Heart of England tour with Blue Roads Touring. We travelled through many beautiful towns and villages, with plenty of time to explore. Highlights include Oxford University, the Cotswolds, Stratford, and Bath. Accommodations were excellent and very well located. Meals included were first rate. Above all, the guide Justin and driver Simon made our trip memorable. They listened to our interests and went above and beyond our expectations! A++

A very enjoyable trip. Covered a lot of the great sites. Vehicle was good for the narrow roads. (Only suggestion would be to have Wi-Fi on board) Group size about right. The Guide was excellent. Very knowledgeable and entertaining.

The Blue-Roads Heart of England tour was wonderful and my highlights was the Shakespeare history in Stratford Upon Avon and the gorgeous Cotswold villages and the yellow stone dwellings.

The Back Roads Tour, The Heart of England, was absolutely wonderful. Our guide, John Kerr and driver, Dan, were exceptional. We were well informed of the background stories to the places we visited and local guides were a wealth of local knowledge. Throughout the tour our fellow travellers were friendly and inclusive. Our accommodation was extremely clean and comfortable and included meals were well presented, tasty and enjoyable. We were well looked after throughout the tour and would not hesitate to book another tour and highly recommend Back Roads to others.

The tour was lovely overall, and Mike, our tour guide, was very knowledgeable and friendly. The reason I rated it as 4 instead of five stars was due to the hotel accommodations on our tour. My hotel room in Stratford at the Swan's Nest was not acceptable. The room smelled horribly of cigarette smoke and the carpet was filthy. I asked if we could switch rooms, but they were fully booked. We ended up sleeping with the windows open to try to minimize the smoke, but we are allergic to smoke, and had difficulty resting in the room. Similiarly, our hotel in Bath was also challenging because we did not have air conditioning, and the internet at the hotel constantly malfunctioned. Several other guests on our tour were placed in rooms without air conditioning, and we reported the problem, but the issue was not resolved in our room at it we visited in June when it was quite warm. Again, the hotel was fully booked and could not change our room, so we slept with our windows open and a fan.

I'm 86 years old. With very bad knees. And I'm here to tell you I would do this tour again in a heartbeat, with the exception of the long international flight and the one night with no air-conditioning during a heat wave. WHICH our great tour guide, Mike, did his best to alleviate, and we were moved for the second night to another room. There was more walking and standing than anticipated, but I didn't want to miss a thing.... and didn't. We saw SO much. And learned SO much, And had so many unforgettable experiences, such as the beautiful and delicious high tea in a village where the newer houses were built in the 1600's! I was hoping to see a few thatched houses.... I didn't see any mundane, American-style houses at all. And those back roads are really back roads! I loved the stops in movie-set worthy villages. Everyone was friendly. The food was good to excellent. One of the most beautiful parts of the journey was the delightful group of fellow travelers. The kind of people you would like to have long-term in your life. Aa treasured journey!
