We will pick you from your hotel and drive you to the airport in Kathmandu. A quick, 25-30-minute flight from Kathmandu will take you to Lukla (2,840m), the gateway to the Khumbu region and the starting point of this trek.
Travel through the Dudh kosi River Valley and past various villages like Chheplung and Chaurikharka before reaching Phakding. Enjoy great views of the Himalayas during the trek. It's a leisurely day with a gradual descend of approximately 200 meters.
Get ready for a steep climb. Follow the path of the thundering Dudh Kosi and cross numerous suspension bridges along the way. Trek past Monjo and Jorsalle villages until you reach Namche Bazaar (3,440m), a village in the mountains that is also the centre of trade and commerce in the Khumbu region.
Stay in Namche and allow your body to acclimatize to the altitude. You can rest throughout the day if you want to. However, you can also choose the option to hike to the nearby areas. The trading and administrative centre of the Khumbu region, Namche is home to various government offices, banks, plenty of shops and eateries.
One of the most interesting optional hikes on our list is the one that takes you to Everest View Hotel, from where you can enjoy great views of Mount Everest and other mountains in the Himalayas.
Enjoy your breakfast before starting the journey. Today's final destination is Dole. The trek starts with a short climb before you reach the army camp located on the top of the bazaar. Then the route is flat until you reach Kyanjoma.
Take some rest while enjoying magnificent views of Amadablam, Thamserku and Kangtega. At this point, the trail to Gokyo separates and the trail to Everest Base Camp separate. Enjoy your lunch before heading for Dole.
The trail starts with a gentle ascent and passes via scenic, mountainous settlements like Lhabarma (4,330m), Luza (4,390m) and Machherma. Enjoy amazing views of the Dudh Kosi Valley.
Today is an important day of our adventure. The Gokyo area is known for several high-altitude, glacier-fed lakes. This is also where the Dudh Kosi River originates from. See three of the six lakes in the area today while enjoying panoramic views of the Himalayas.
Gokyo Ri (5,403m) is known for providing amazing views of most mountains in the Everest region. Head for the peak early in the morning. The guide will let you know the time that hike will start. The walk takes around 3 to 4 hours. Descend to Gokyo Lakes after enjoying views from Gokyo Ri and enjoy your lunch.
Today is one of the most difficult days of this adventure. The trail to Renjo La from Gokyo starts with a gentle climb that changes into a steep one before you reach the pass. See the Gokyo Valley from above as you cross the pass and descend to Lungden, a small village with few basic lodges for trekkers.
The trail from Lungden to Namche is mostly downhill. Trek past Marulung (4,210m) and Thame (3,820m), the latter of which is home to a famous monastery. From here you can enjoy views of mountains in the Rolwaling range. The final destination of the day is Namche Bazaar.
This will be the last day in the Himalayas. There is no rush to reach Lukla. You can sleep till late morning if you want to since the trek only starts before noon. The trail is full of steep descends along the Dudh Kosi until you reach Phakding for lunch. The journey from Phakding to Lukla is mostly a gentle, uphill climb.
