The best alternative to Everest Base Camp!!

Amazing!!!! If you're looking for an alternative track to Everest Camp, with less crowds and less congestion you won't be disappointed by choosing Gokyo lakes including the Gokyo Ri climb - 5380m! Offering views of crystal clear blue lakes, the largest glacier in the park and ofcourse views of Everest can be seen from here - but not nearly as many tourists on track! The homestays and the families there are very hospital and ensuring that you'll have a warm and comfortable stay. There are a variety of meals to choose from at the home stays with fresh fruit and vegetables - exceptional considering the isolation! Great hospitality with even greater views. The track is a great option too for families / elderly people. I did the track with my mum and it certainly won't be our last time here.

Not Everest base Camp!

Where to start Great level of communication from Indira before arrival in Nepal; all questions answered quickly and itinerary changes all made without issue. Pick up from the airport and transfer easy. Stay at Kathmandu Guest House just sublime, perfect hideaway. Pre-trek meeting with Indira and Mr Hari was very helpful. This trek is fabulous, stunning locations and you avoid the masses going to Everest BC for the t-shirt. Our trekking guide, Mr Ram, is a great guy. He dealt with all the accommodation, food, etc and is great company. He shared his extensive knowledge of the Himalayas and gave you confidence in his abilities. He got stuck in and sorted out any issues raised. This trek takes you to the absolute beauty of Gokyo lakes and Gokyo-Ri. Its long and not for the faint-hearted, but its certainly worth the walk! I loved every minute of it. The trip was perfectly finished by a visit to the temple at Bouda (transport by the operator); what an amazing experience. I will visit Nepal again and when I do, I will be booking with this operator. Thank you Indira, Mr Hari and Mr Ram.

Great walk and Great trek!

The walk was great on all accounts, the rural Sherpa villages, the landscape, the quiet beautiful ambience of a fairly untouched land. Not seeing many tourists also gave a more special feeling of embracing the wild untamed region. After collaboration with a few friends, we altered our destination to Gokyo and the surrounding lakes etc, rather than Everest Base camp. Our decision was greeted with smiles from our guide who told us it would be far more worthwhile because Gokyo trail is more picturesque and less crowded than the classical EBC trail. After encountering masses of people on the Lukla to Phading and Namchee Bazaar trail, we were pleasantly surprised to discover that only about 10% of people followed the trail to Gokyo. The scenery and the majestic landscape, the views of several 8,000 + metre peaks was well vindicated. The climb from Gokyo (4800m) the next day to the Gokyo Ri peak (5,400m) an awesome and exhilarating experience. I would recommend this over the traditional EBC trail.

Pavel

I wanted to share my positive experience with Bookmundi regarding my recent 18-day 'Zen and Scenic Japan' tour. The booking process was remarkably easy and hassle-free, which was a huge relief. The customer service team deserves special praise for their patience and polite responses to my many questions, making me feel fully supported. The tour was more affordably priced than similar ones from other companies, and the bonus program was an appreciated addition. Because of this excellent experience, Bookmundi has earned a permanent client. Thank you for such a great journey.
