For those short on time but eager for a taste of Nepal’s mountain magic, the "Ghorepani Poon hill Trek 5 days" trip is a perfect fit. Crafted for young adults who prefer moderate trekking, this journey offers stunning Himalayan panoramas from Poonhill without the demands of high-altitude hiking. Wander through terraced fields and Gurung and Magar villages, soaking in vibrant local culture and picture-perfect scenery. Guided every step of the way, the trek promises breathtaking sunrises and unforgettable memories. The tour’s unique selling point is its accessibility—delivering awe-inspiring views and cultural encounters in a compact, manageable itinerary.
It was a great experience! Everything was planned and we just needed to enjoy the trekking. Our guide Binod was super nice and helpful and great at spreading good energy. It was a trip of a lifetime.
First time in Nepal, but not the last for sure... Lovely trek and great guide (Binod) always caring for us. Really friendly and enjoying with us along the trek. It was the perfect combination of landscapes, people and challenge. 100% recommended for everyone! Namaste and धन्यवाद!
It was my first time climbing a mountain and it was great! I loved the experience of Poon Hill and especially the company with the guide Binod. Always attentive and adapting to our pace. 100% recommendable :). Lovely experience with this local travel specialist
The hike was beautiful and we were blessed with wonderful weather despite going during monsoon season. And even though it was the off season I found it very peaceful and a really lovely time, so try not to let the idea of an off-season scare you too much :)
I can’t recommend Shiva and his team highly enough. From the moment I stepped out of Tribhuvan International I felt that warm Nepalese welcome, with our guide Bishnu greeting us at the airport. Nepal is a beautiful country with some of the most amazing countryside. Shiva’s team guided us on a truely authentic experience always ensuring we were catered for. Poon Hill although considered a relatively easy hike still had some challenges and Bishnu ensured we took it at our pace. We climbed Poon Hill in what is considered the off season, maybe we were just fortunate with good weather but all the waterfalls and the fewer crowds seem like the perfect time to me.
Beautiful views and very good guide and porter lots of helpful information about local area and the different mountains
I spent all together 5 days for this trek, however the road has been the palce ullare., and most of trekking route is from dusty road. many jeep nd transport comes to the same road. so hard to walk, the first day is almost 80 % are the motor road. But from the second day it is nice up to Ghorapane. Climbing to poon hill was great experience , Great Sunrise and Excellent view of Mountain This trek is suitable for people who do not have much time to do the annapurna circuit or annapurna base camp trekking but still enjoy some breathtaking views of the mountains. My tour included all lodging, local transportation, and a fantastic tour guide. I always felt safe and taken care of. Be sure to provide your schedule ahead of time- i would highly recommend getting help of local tour specialists.
Nice trek, with beautiful views! Quit hard with the snow, but the guide was a great help! It was really good, distances per day was enough if you never do treks, well balanced. But a pity we didnt see much from ghandruk, we hadnt the time to look around because we had to go to the bus. And there was said that ghandruk was beautiful to walm around and see the culture, so that was a pity. But overall really well balanced and Nice trip!! With a kind and helpfull guide.
I did the poon hill trek with guide Nikesh and had a very good time! He did everything possible to make me comfortable. The trek itself was very good, although day 4 was a bit of a tough one. Views where amaaaaaaaazing, food was good, rooms usually had a mild to warm shower and were clean. Unfortunately like all over nepal, there is also a lot of garbage on and next to the trail.
Excellent trip! My wife and I identified the itinerary that we wanted for our trip to Nepal (Poon Hill trek, rafting and Chitwan safari with New Years Eve in Kathmandu) and we searched various travel companies to help make the itinerary work for us. We got in touch with local tour specialists through Bookmundi. Shiva responded quickly and arranged the itinerary that we wanted with some extras that we hadnt considered all for a reasonable price. After a few emails back and forth with Shiva to confirm all the details we were ready, happy and confident that the trip would be great. After arriving in Kathmandu, everything was arranged for us, and we were assigned Prakash as our guide for the week along with a porter for the trek. Prakash was talkative and funny, and looked after us greatly. He was happy to share many things about his culture and we enjoyed his company. He has been doing many treks in Nepal for the past 7 years, so he knows his stuff and we knew we were in capable hands. Also, he understands a lot of foreign cultures and knows what we are looking for in with our time in Nepal. The trek was fabulous with beautiful views and we were lucky to have such great weather in December (sunny, 15C in the day and less than 5C at night). The tea houses that you stay in are basic, most had hot water for a shower (but maybe try and be the first or second one in the shower so the hot water doesnt run out!), and the food was decent. Note that any drinks (including teas and water) are to be paid for yourself, but everything else is included (i.e. accommodation and food). Day 1 lasts around 4 hours hike all uphill, Day 2 is 7 hours hike all uphill, Day 3 is 7 hours hike uphill and downhill, and Day 4 is 4 hours all downhill. The paths are well maintained (some of the steps are quite big!), lots of tea houses to stop off at along the way (usually every hour or so) and they have a lot of supplies. The rafting on the Trisuli River was fun. It is around 20km which takes around 3 hours and there were 9 of us in the rafting boat. The water is cold, and depending on the company you go with you need to check whether there are showers at the end, or at least how you will get to warm clothing / shower. The Chitwan safari was good experience. We stayed in a nice lodge (Hermitage) and went on a boat, walk and jeep safari. The vegetation was very high in December making it more difficult to view the animals, but we still hit lucky and saw a lot. You can do elephant riding and there are other tricks that the elephants can do. We chose not to go with these as we were sceptical about their training. We used a private car to get from Pokhara to the rafting, then to Chitwan, then back to Kathmandu. For us we felt it was worth doing and Shiva booked it all for us, and Prakash was with us to make sure it all went smoothly. When we were back in Kathmandu, Shiva took us to a lovely local restaurant with dancing to see how the trip went for us. Both Shiva and Prakash really looked after us and made sure everything went to plan. Great trip, thoroughly enjoyed, thank you to both of them!
This was a very enjoyable five days. Prakash is a very friendly, able and experienced guide - who really made the whole experience special. Many thanks to Shiva for putting all the arrangements in place, and even making sure I got my plane to Kathmandu on the last day (there was fog at the airport). Overall, this was an excellent trek - I can't wait for the next one.
I booked this 5-days trekking trip to Poonhill through bookmundi the day before departure. It was kind of a rush but everything turns out very smooth and the trek was just amazing. The weather was so nice and comfortable around this time in Nepal (Oct/Nov), you can see lots of nice views and animals throughout the journey. It was not easy to do the trek in 5-days, including transporting for the first and last day, but it's totally worth it. Big shout out to the guide Bishnu, who is a very heart-warming, experienced and responsible guide who took care almost everything in the trip for me. He let you walk in your pace and would not hesitate to help if you have any difficulties. I had lots of questions about the trek and Nepal, he got answers to most of them! The porter "Pikas"(I don't know how to spell this name) was also nice and very responsible and offered help when it's needed. The organizer Shiva was very accomodating and making sure everything runs smoothly behind too! They prepared sleeping bags and down jacket for you so you don't have to worry about the cold at nights in the mountain. He also recommended me to take the flight from Pokhara to Kathmandu and it was definitely a better alternative comparing to 7-8hours local bus ride. You can see all the mountains in that area on flight and it's just around 30mins flight.
It was a very good trip, my guide Prakash was very knowledgeable and on point. They tried their best to be flexible and adjust to my time constraint, really appreciated it. Didnt put 5 stars only because of the very rainy weather but it was the low season so there is nothing they could have done.
We had a great time on our 3 day trek, wished we could have spent longer treking. Our guide Binod was great, very helpful and friendly! The trek was our first ever trek and was a great introduction to trekking and the Himalayas.
The trekking was excellent. Everything was perfect. Bishnu is the best guide! He was very professional, kind and patience.
Very good attention of the guide, very happy we will recommend it for sure ! Thanks! Sara and Carmen
The tour was very well organized from our arrival at Kathmandu till we arrived back in Kathmandu . We did not have to worry about anything. The tour guide Binod was very friendly, helpful and a great person. He showed us the best spots around the track and he negotiated best prices, when we had to buy any products for ourself . The track is very beautiful and it is not extremely challenging. I would even recommended for beginners. The whole experience was just amazing!
We joined the poonhill trek in January. Its lucky to have a nice guide with is. All the arrangement including accommodations and the foods were good! Theres no problems of communication, recommend!
I hired a guide through local tour specialists in order to do the Poon Hill Trek over 4 days and 3 nights. This was my first time trekking in Nepal so i wasn't sure what to expect but saw the great reviews the company had got and decided to go with them. Our guide Bishnu was great, making all our arrangements covering accommodation, food etc. He told us each night what the plan for the next day was and the whole thing ran really smoothly. At the end you get a really cool certificate saying you've completed the trek which is a nice bonus. They were really professional and made the trek a fantastic experience!
I absolutely enjoyed the trek and beautiful panoramic view from Poonhill. I enjoyed so much that I wished that I had signed up for a longer course. My guide, Bishal, was very kind and provided just enough support I needed. I didnt get a complimentary dinner, airport drop or a trekking map though. I also thought it would have been better if there was a briefing on the itinerary before the trekking started.
Poon Hill Sunrise experience isn't worth the effort. 90% of moonlight and sunrise views can be seen from level of Ghore Pani lodging compounds. Tour company did provide me with an experienced guide, insuring my safety.
Having great experience in trekking to poon hill with our guide Bishnu. They have good care of the whole trip with comfortable guest house and food. The view in poon hill with sunrise is amazing! We love the trip. The paragliding is fun as well. The guide is very kind and trustable.
The trekking was full of fun and chanlleges, we enjoyed the sunrise, Nepali foods, Nepali people and their culture. Bishnu is the Best guide for our tour!
It was a fantastic experience to do the trekking. The view is beautiful and unforgettable.
The trip arrangement is caring and nice. I can feel the kindness and sincerity of Nepali from the guide Bishnu. The view of Poon-Hill is excellent and the trekking site reveals the natural beauty of Nepal. This is a rare experience in my hometown.
I went on this trip with a mate of mine from Australia. From the start communication with Nepal Lion was clear and effective. We ended up booking a few things as well as the trek with Nepal Lion because the service was so great. the trek itself was with a lovely smiley fellow named Bishnu and he made the trip very enjoyable. The Poon Hill view was incredible. Would definitely recommend to anyone that's serious about getting some amazing photos and doing some adventure exercise.
The Ghorepani Poon Hill trek was definitely a trek I will never forget, every day we were treated to new sights and views of the vast mountains and Himalayan range. Each night we were greeted with warm smiles and warm meals from each hotel staff and company. On the 3rd day we started out last climb to poon hill and watched the sunrise from 10000ft, beautiful sights over the Himalayas and Annapurna range, incredible photo moments and an experience that will never be forgotten. Our guide was brilliant and supplied us with all the information and history of the mountains. Definitely a trek to recommend to anyone looking to travel to Nepal.

An absolutely beautiful trekking experience.Of course, it all depends on the weather - we had two clear mornings, the first one on Poon Hill to see the Dhaulagiri - Annapurna - Fishtail Panorama in the sunrise (of course you share the view with about 200 other trekkers who make their way up the stairs to Poon Hill before sunrise), and the second one from Fishtail Lodge - a spectacular view as well of Annapurna South and Fishtail. It also depends on your guide - we had a great one, very friendly, very knowledgable, very flexible, very funny. He definitely helped make this an unforgettable experience. For the limited time we had definitely the best choice - although a bit crowded in places.
A very varied and beautiful trek! Very good if you have limited time in Nepal. :)
Everything about the trek was fantastic! The guest houses along the trek route were comfortable, had good food, and were run by very nice people. The trek itself was fun and challenging, and the views were unforgettable. Overall an amazing experience!
Excellent trekking trip! it was not easy, but it is do-able. With beautiful views and sceneries along with experiencing the people and culture of Nepal, it was a very enjoyable trip
This was the first time I go trekking and it was breath taken. Went with 5 girls and 1 tour guide and 2 porters. Had a great time, it was definitely and experience to remember. Very kind and loving :) Raj is the best Tour Guide you could ever ask for :)
The scenery was breathtaking. The trek is relatively easy but you must be in decent shape, would not recommend to anyone with health problems as you go up and down many steep slopes. The teahouse hosts were incredibly welcoming and friendly. Overall an incredible experience.
This is a great trek, you will get to see beautiful scenery and also walk across villages and meet wonderful and hospitable locals along the way! Watching the sunrise over the mountains is breathtaking.
The trek is very nice and the views from Poon Hill are amazing. The routes are by far not as crowded as I expected. If you do not have time for a longer tour, it is a perfect alternative. The lodges along the way are nice and it is fun to hang out with the people you meet there (all great!). Physically, it is absolutely feasible if you are in normal shape. It gets quite cold in Ghorepani, so be prepared... The only downside is that the bus drives are much longer than you'd expect (eg 4 hours from Ghandruk to Pokhara)
The trek was amazing. It wasn't too difficult with some struggles on the uphill the first two days, however all-in-all it was relatively easy going. The nights were cold but with the sleeping bags provided it was comfortable. The guide, Rajendra was an extremely good guide who helped us through the 5 days and was a great guy who was friendly. The food was great as well as the hotel/hostels we stayed in. The scenery and views were amazing and I will be going back to nepal to hike some more when i get the chance. Amazing experience.
I totally loved the experience! It was quite a challenge for me climbing up and down those very old stairs but the view and amazing sights are so worth the effort! Big thanks to the local travel experts:)
I had a great time trekking. I originally was going to go to the Everest region, but my flight was cancelled due to weather. Shiva, the owner, was extremely helpful and accommodating. He made sure to get me to the mountains and trekking in the easiest and most convenient way possible. Though it cost me a little more due to the weather cancellations, the Poon Hill trek was worth every penny. It's no walk in the park, it's a tough trek, but the challenge through jungles, mountains, and hills make the great views worthwhile and a valuable memory! I highly recommend this trip.
Gorepani poon hill and poonhill panoram trekis a very nice place to visit for sunrise and sunset view of whole Annapurna range and Dhaulagiri Range.Wake up early and take a torch, you will be rewarded by the best sunrise. It's about an hour easy walk along paths and up steps from the village to the peak, but its cold and dark so take care. The view from the top is awesome with 360 views I highly recommend Shiva, a local travel specialist, thank you for arranging this beautiful, well organised trip. We enjoyed trekking with Prakash and Rajendra, they are really helpful and they did help to make the trip as comfortable as it can be in the mountains
Definitely go at Sunrise! It will be crowded, but you can still spend a good amount of time and wait for the area to clear for a good picture. This is a lovely hike and wonderful place, highly recommended for everyone who is at least in medium shape. Won't deny that the last part before reaching Poon-Hill was a bit hard (I'm not a morning person). But for sure lovely afterwards! Highly recommend it!!
I visited Nepal in April '16 and completed the 6 day Poonhill Trek. Probably one of my favorite vacations of all time! Rhododendrons in bloom with views of the Annapurnas... breathtaking. Our local tour expert shiva, was one of the best in the business. His English is great, and we had very clear communication over email while making the trekking plans beforehand,You can tell he loves his job and has a deep passion for his work, the Nepali people, and his homeland. During our trek, our comfort was his biggest concern, and he always made sure everything was to our liking. In the evenings, we'd spend some time chatting about Nepal, the culture, and he even taught us some Nepali card games. After talking with other travellers, I believe our trekking rates were very competitive too. I had such a great time that I'm really hoping to visit Nepal again, but for a longer duration. One week was not enough!
