day 1Kathmandu — Lukla — Phakding

Your journey begins with a flight to Lukla either from Kathmandu or Manthali. Your departure point will be decided by trekking or aviation authorities.
Flight to Lukla from Kathmandu takes around 40 minutes. After breakfast, you will be driven to Kathmandu airport for your flight. You can get on this flight every month except for peak season.
If you are flying from Manthali, you will set off from Kathmandu early in the morning (at around 2:30 am), as you will be traveling by tourist bus to reach Manthali, which is a 4-6-hour journey. From there, you will take a 20-minute flight to Lukla.
After landing Lukla, your will embark on a three-hour trek to Phakding. This is a rather easy trek. After reaching Phakding, you will rest overnight for tomorrow's trek.
