Very comprehensive history by guide
My idea of visiting Egypt was just to see the Pyramids and the Sphinx, bucket list items. However on this trip I uncovered that Egypt is so much more than just that. The temples are beautiful and are not spoken about enough in order to attract more tourists. Wonderful experience.
The tour was wonderful, packing in so many beautiful places in limited time. Egypt is a vast country with such a rich history that it would be impossible to try to do absolutely everything, with that said the tour really does a great job of showing all of the amazing sights Egypt has to offer. Well worth it with the Nile Cruise and all-inclusive resort stops, so much good food and great amenities. The tour leader was knowledgeable and kept us educated on the sights and Egyptian culture.
Excellent!
We chose the Felucca adventure and had a great time! Our tour leader George Basher was knowledgeable, kind and most accommodating! What started out as 11 strangers and ended as a Yalla family of 11!! We learned so much from this trip about Egypt, it's history and culture! Highly recommended! Thanks George!!
We spent 9 days covering a majority of the county of Egypt and touched on all of the major sites. Plus so many other things in between. Our guide, George Basher, was excellent. The itinerary was very organized as well. I would definitely recommend this trip to anyone, especially if George is their tour leader.
This tour covered everything I wanted to see in Egypt, from all the ancient sites to the Red Sea. It was a fantastic and effortless way to experience the best of Egypt and George, our guide, was excellent.
You get a local Egyptologist who walk you through the history of Egypt. The transport was fine, on time and clean. The itinerary was the expected and the people are really nice.
I recently embarked on a birthday trip to Egypt organized by Expat Explore and I cannot express how truly exceptional this experience was. Covering almost the entirety of ancient Egypt in just 9 days, our journey was a perfect blend of cultural immersion and thrilling activities. Our cruise on the Nile river aboard a traditional felucca provided a unique and authentic experience. Exploring ancient temples, snorkeling in the Red Sea, and the highlight of my childhood dreams – going inside Tutankhamun's tomb – added an adventurous touch to the trip. A significant highlight of the tour was our remarkable tour leader, Mina. His profound knowledge and evident love for his country added depth to every historical site we visited. Beyond being an expert guide, he went above and beyond, offering valuable tips and even lending us cash when needed. His warmth and generosity created a welcoming atmosphere that contributed to our tour group feeling like a little family, perhaps due to us bonding overnight on the felucca – a shared laughter echoed through our journey. I've made friends for life, and we've already made plans to stay in touch and visit each other in our home countries. On the night of my birthday, Mina, our tour organizer, orchestrated a delightful surprise. The restaurant baked a cake, and the entire group joined in singing happy birthday. The thoughtful gift of a papyrus painting featuring my star sign and name in hieroglyphics added a personal touch to the celebration. While the trip was a dream come true, the only aspect I didn't plan well for was the intensity of the schedule. The packed itinerary left little room for relaxation. However, the overall experience, enriched by the amazing destinations and the wonderful people I encountered, surpassed any initial concerns about the pace. Thank you Expat Explore for crafting such a memorable and immersive travel experience. I cannot wait to explore more destinations with you soon :)
It was an amazing experience
My friend and I booked this trip as a gift for our birthdays. We had a blast, from learning the culture to the ancient history and visiting all the historical places I've always dreamed for. Our tour guide Mina was amazing, such a caring and accommodating person, he made us feel safe and shared his passion with us. It was a great experience that I would recommend to anyone. Although we had very early mornings and long drives, I would say it was worth it!
Egypt is a large country with so many magnificent places to see. This tour covers so much ground, woth every penny. My only feedback was to spend more time in Luxor versus Hurghada. Theres so much to see in Luxor, need more than a day there.
It was a beautiful tour with amazing places to explore...
I was really impressed with the tour. Everything from the airport pick up to the airport drop off was on time and well-organized. I highly commend the people who are behind the logistics of the tour. The tour leaders were very approachable, knowledgeable, and looked after the group all throughout our time in Egypt. The itinerary was superb. It includes all the highlights a first-timer in Egypt would want to see.
Ever since I was little, I always dreamed to go to Egypt and Travel Expat Explore literally gave me the best experience ever! Our tour was amazing having to travel almost all around Egypt-- From Cairo, Aswan, Luxor, Hurghada and Alexandria. Our tour guide- Mina, was the best as well! He made sure that everyone in the group felt inclusive. He even became our friend at the end of the trip as he was just such a remarkable person to be around. The tour felt very safe especially because Mina really made sure that we were not harmed or hussled by the vendors. I really appreciate him so much. The best part of the tour for me was seeing the Great Pyramids of Giza as it was the one I've always needed to see ever since I was a child. The next favourite part would be meeting the people from the tour -- not only learning about the culture of Egypt, but other cultures as well as we were quite a diverse group. Special thanks to Mina and the rest of Travel Expat Team for making this tour as organized as possible and AMAZING.
Mina, our tour operator made each one of us felt included at all times. He took note of the small details and got to know our strenghts and weaknesses quickly! Always saying ""watch your step"". His knowlegde of the history is phenominal.
All good had great time
This is a very fun group. Since it came out to be a small group we ended up a family. Thanks to our tour guide Mina. Job well done of explaining the Egypt's history & taking us to all these wonderful places…,what an experience!
The tour was so well-organised and enjoyable - it was definitely the trip of a lifetime! I learnt so much about Egypt and saw so many wonderful sights. The tour leader, Amgad, was incredible - his knowledge and love for Egypt was very apparent. The driver, Uzu, was lovely. I would 100% recommend to all!
Growing up learning about Egypt is one thing but actually seeing it in person is amazing.
This tour was absolutely amazing. Every day had something special that I will remember for the rest of my life. We did so much it's remarkable. Our group Egyptologist was also incredible, thank you Mina Magdy for making this trip what it was, you went above and beyond for us - from helping us all night long with tattoos to playing games with us on the sail boat to taking us to have dinner with your mom, so much fun and laughter!! If you're reading this, do yourself a favour and book this trip, your future self will thank you.
We were a group of 9 friends that wanted to visit Egypt. We decided to go with expat it was the best decision. As soon as we arrived to Cairo, there was a person to pick us up to bring us to the hotel, there we meet the rest of the group and our guide Ramez. We made a really cute group we enyojed it a lot. Ramez was always there to help us on everything we need. Part of my friends had their flight cancel so they arrived one day after, they weren't able to visit the pyramids but after the 8 days travelling once we returned to Cairo, Ramez arranged everything for them to visit the pyramids with a colleague. We will repeat!
Ramez is a really nice and kind person. He is really knowledgeable of the history of Egypt. We went to all of the most important sites and he explained all their history. The drivers and the security are great. We were made to feel safe and cared for. Ramez took into consideration our needs and made sure they were met. We had a lot of fun, and we were left with amazing knowledge about Ancient Egypt. I will probably recommend this tour and our guide to my friends and family.
Fantastic archaelogical sites seen through out most of Egypt. A good amount of time spent at each site to fully appreciate and enjoy the moments there. The days are very long to get to all the sites, but its worth it.
Our tour was jam packed with details, but worth every minute. We were always busy with something to see or do. Great coordination with the tour guides and time management. Definitely would not have been able to see everything on our own. I felt safe and taken care of at every step. George Tamer was the BEST tour guide. He went above and beyond to make it a great week. All of the other employees involved (drivers, staff) were helpful and warm. Would recommend to anyone wanting to see a great portion of Egypt!
Everything was great!
Had the best first solo trip experience! I was able to make unforgettable memories and great friendships, and I am very thankful for our tour guide Ray who was incredible! Great value for money, excellent planning, didn't have a single negative experience. Super recommend.
Really good tour - very interesting. The sites were super interesting, the food was amazing and the weather was perfect.
This is my second time doing a tour with Expat Explore. My first experience was great and the 2nd time did not disappoint. George, our guide for the Egypt trip was phenomenal! He was knowledgeable and any questions wether it be information on the temples or even good spots to enjoy our meals. This was the first time I traveled solo and he made me feel safe the whole time. I absolutely loved my time in Egypt and cried when the tour was over. I was even more blown away seeing these ancient relics in real life. If you've ever wanted to check out Egypt, I highly suggest going with this tour. I look forward to future trips with Expat.
The route was well planned and if we had tried to plan it ourselves without a tour guide, we wouldn't have been able to do half of it. The tour guide, George Tamer, was very helpful and friendly throughout the whole tour, giving loads of information regarding the highlights of the Egyptian sites and history. We were lucky that we got into a small group of 5 people and therefore we were able to move around using a smaller bus.
I am a traveler with many countries and tours under my belt, but this was my first trip with the tour operator. What a great bargain and no cheapness on the value. First class Guide, transportation, lodging, and food. I just can't say enough about this tour to my friends and family. The guide Mina Magdy was so knowledgeable and did so much extra for everyone, he really makes the trip.
Egypt tour was an unforgettable experience specially on how the organizer planned the itinerary. Our tour guide Ramiz was amazing, knowledgeable of the local history and very accommodating to the group. This was the best experience so far!!!
Amazing tour, and awesome group of people.
This tour started off a bit chaotic. But I quickly learned that Cairo is a bit of a chaotic city and I learned to embrace that. Our itinerary was jam packed and we saw a ton of Egyptian highlights. The temples, ruins, and artifacts were nothing short of extraordinary. It was great to see all the different cities throughout Egypt too; Cairo, Aswan, Luxor, Hurghada. Each has its own personality. I went during a chaotic time as the virus was sweeping the globe. My only gripe about the trip was our time in Hurghada. It's labeled as an 'all-inclusive' resort but there isn't much to offer in terms of beverage, the Wi-Fi connection is atrocious, and the service wasn't great. In addition, it rained while we were there so we were stuck at the resort for an additional night before heading back to Cairo. This led many to be forced to cancel/reschedule flights back home during an already chaotic time and without the luxury of a strong internet connection. I opted to stay an additional night in Cairo, so I escaped any deep worry. Yet the rest of the trip and itinerary was a blast. Our guide, Ramez, was very knowledgable, friendly, and he accomodated everyone to the best of his abilities. It was a great experience being led by a local Egyptian and hearing about the culture first hand. I'd recommend the trip for sure!
I signed up for this tour to see all the things that I had only read about in history books. And it didn't disappoint. The tour starts with someone meeting you at the Cairo airport to help through customs. This makes it so easy. You get handed off a few times and end up at the hotel. There is security everywhere. I never felt unsafe during the entire tour. There are several add on tours you can do before or after the official tour. I did the Memphis a Dashur tour, which included two pyramids, and also did the Alexandria day trip. It's totally worth it to go into the pyramids. They are hot and stuffy and an uncomfortable hunkered over walk to get into but it's so worth it. You are going to be spending a lot of time traveling on a bus on rough roads so be ready for that. Some of the days start really early so you can get there before the crowds. This ended up being totally worth it nothing like having a whole temple to yourself. Be ready for very pushy salesfolks everywhere. Also have lots of small bills available for tipping and bathroom breaks, there's normally a fee for any bathroom use. And bring your own TP since there often isn't any. The guides know a lot. Our guide was Mina M. He answered all our questions and provided tons of information and kept everything going smoothly. He was more than wiling to accommodate requests. We had signed up for the felucca but discovered it was just sleeping in a group on the deck of the boat which is more adventure than we wanted. So he arranged for us to do the cruise but stay in the hotel that night which was fantastic. The highlight for me was the valley of the kings in Luxor and snorkeling in the Red Sea. I want to return to see more of both.
The tour itself was great, I wish Expat would consider hotels that comply with safety guidelines, The Hotel in Luxor caught on fire and there were no alarms nor sprinklers.. We were all safe and the tour guide went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of.
We were not properly informed about the amount of money needed. We had to pay the guide's tip before the tour, we had to pay at every toilet spot. We were not advised that in Egypt you have to pay for everything including breathing. The hotels were less than ideal. We had no hot water and getting coffee at Lotus was like pulling teeth. Though the hotels were sometimes clean - I did not sleep comfortably. The lunch stops .... please change the restaurants you take guests on... these are dirty and there is no variety of food
Impressed with how fast we get through immigration by the assistance of your representative. Our tour guide Ramez is extremely impressive and accommodating. Didn't enjoyed the meals from the hotels we stayed in especially the all inclusive stay in a hotel in hurghada where majority of the services aren't available. To sum it up, I have an awesome experience.❤
Ramaz was an encyclopedia of Egyptian history, and was also tons of fun and always looking out for the whole group. He is the best tour guide in Egypt! The tour had lots of very early mornings and accomplished an amazing amount of sightseeing in a short time. Some of the hotels didn't have functioning AC or hot water which would be my only complaint. Thanks for a great adventure trip!
The best part of the tour was our tour guide Ramez! His wealth of knowledge of Egypt was exceptional. Although we did have a hiccup on our trip, in the long run, what an amazing experience and I will travel with Expat again!
It was fine. I will make my details comments to Jake and Carl later.
Our tour guide Meena was fantastic, super knowledgeable and passionate about all things Egypt. He always had the answer to our questions and made the tour a fun time, always making sure everyone was included. The tour was arranged without any issues with a highlight of the felucca trip in the Nile Adventure tour.
Tour was well organized and gave enough time for sightseeing. Meena, our tour guide was marvelous and made it even more enjoyable. His story telling skill is outstanding. Lot of early morning check outs [however it make sense with travel time and to avoid excoriating heat in afternoon]. Felucca cruise was totally worth despite its preliminary facilities as sleeping under the stars on nile river was an amazing experience. Tour company was able to accommodate modification of the tour. Highly recommended tour esp for solo traveller!!
Too hectic schedule.Choice of food could be a lot better. Added excursions were too expensive like ke the submarine ride. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable
A lot of early mornings but its honestly worth it. Felt safe the entire trip. Our guide was very knowledgeable and I would definately recommend this tour to others.
Wasn't sure what to expect because the trip was so affordable. However, it exceed my expectations. I was hoping for education, culture and experience. It was spot on. I saw everything I wanted to see. The guide was knowledgeable and accommodating. Would use Expat again!
Shadi our tour guide was excellent and super knowledgeable. Met some great people and new friends from all over and the places you get to see are all amazing.
Felluca sailing is ideal for day time not overnight as there's no other recreation in the night if you can't sleep. Limited movement not to wake up your tourmates if going to the only manual toilet shared by everybody.
So many things to do in so little time. But had so much fun and amazed by all of Egypt's wonders.
Love this Tour From Arrival from the Airport I was assisted by until riding a Taxi to my hotel and the staff are friendly And our Egyptologist guide Shady is wonderful and the best The itenerary from the second day till the ladt day is enjiyable especially riding the camel in The Pyramid of Giza which I had a spectacular view and picture to visiting Temples , a Balloon Ride in Luxor to swimming in the Red Sea and first time experiencing the Scuba Diving Ill give it a Five Star and a Thums Up
