Fantastic tour. Highly recommended company to travel with. The tour guides were extremely knowledgeable and informative.
Great itinerary, exceptionally delivers by tour director and tour host.
This is a great tour. We especially had the best Trafalgar employees ever with Osama and Mohammed. They made this trip amazing! A few things to be prepared for. You’ll move between a couple hotels and also have two quick plane rides during your trip. Local vendors will try to get you to buy their stuff at every stop, but a quick “no” and they will leave you alone. It’s very similar to the Caribbean islands in that regard. This is definitely a bucket list trip. You’re moving around a lot but I also feel they left plenty of downtime to relax. The pyramids, temples, and Nile River cruise are all unbelievable. It’s hard to believe you’re looking at ancient monuments that are 3-5,000 years old and still standing. It’s a beautiful place. The meals they provided were always really good too.
This is Egypt! For 9 days, we shared all the marvels of the ancient world. Our guides insights opened our eyes to the thinking and customs of those times.
Its a lot of information. And fast paced.
Met up with Mr Osama for a consultation before the beginning of The Great Egypt trip. I specifically told him in details of my expectations and objectives of my trip. Being a photographer, I would want to capture the best of Egypt. Hence, I asked for a best view and high floor room. I again highlighted these to my tour director Ramadan on the first day of the trip. Unfortunately, my requests had fallen into deaf ears. I was given a room on the 18th floor facing a construction site where else a lady traveller was given a 30th floor facing the Nile River. I requested for it about 4 days prior to the check-in but yet the best view room was given to the lady who didn't request for it at all. I was disappointed and would like to change but was told by Osama that if I'm not happy with the 18th floor, he can put me down to the 3rd floor instead! So he was saying to take it or leave it! I felt very offened by his words. That was NOT nice! That was THREATENING! That was DISRESPECTFUL! I felt DISGUSTED!. Worst, he was saying over the microphone infront of the whole group of us while in the bus. I asked other travellers in the groups, all agreed with what he said was offensive and not right! He handed me the card for the room at the lobby and again I told him I was not happy with his arrangement. Sadly, no action from him. I complained to Ramadan the next day and was told that Osama had used those words because he was tired and at the same time the bus was moving and that he may fall. I cannot accept these lame reasons. Being tired doesn't meant he can be DISRESPECTFUL! Even after Ramadan had spoken to him, no effort was put in to get me to another room. The next day at about 10pm after my outing, I went to the reception and asked for a change of room with a better view and was given immediately. This was to say no further action was taken after the complain. It was more than 14 hours for him to act. The receptionist told me that no one had requested to change my room, if yes, they would have gladly do so. So what was the purpose of the consultation and speaking to Osama for more than a hour? This was wasting my breath and time. PLEASE do not do for the sake of doing. It defeat the purpose! When traveling to Luxor, I was wondering why was I sitting alone 3-4 rows in front of the whole group of 19 travellers (12 from my group and 7 from Insight Vacation). Why was I have to sit alone and NOT as a group? Was it because that I'm the only Chinese? Was it racist? On the last day, Osama was there to pick some of us to the airport, I was expecting an apology from him personally. NO! He acted like nothing had happened that had caused the unpleasant situation. These unpleasant situations dampened my holidays with Trafalgar again! He helped me through my departure at the airport though. Thank you Ramadan for being a great tour director. He's knowledgeable, helpful and attending to our little needs. I can see that he take pride in his work! Over at the breakfast on my last day of the trip, Ahmed Awad - the restaurant manager greeted me and upon hearing that I missed my Chinese food, he immediately got the kitchen to prepare some for me and Chef Nasser came personally to ensure that I'm well taken care of for my meal. Their sincere hospitalities are greatly appreciated! For your necessary action and I want a reply from the relevant in charge! Yours faithfully, Goh Wah Heng
The itinerary was packed with all of the highlights. Our guide, Ramadan, was attentive, informative, and so knowledgeable. An incredible journey
Ramadan was such a knowledgeable Egyptologist. I could not imagine doing this trip without him. Not for someone with mobility issues. Heat as high as 39 degrees makes it challenging even for the fittest. Early starts to get there before the crowds and heat was a great testament to local knowledge. Valley of the Kings was an experience that I will never forget. If you have the time, try to take advantage of the option of attending Alexandria. I have come home with a piece of Egypt in my heart
The itinerary included just about everything a person might want to see in 8 days.
Don't go to Egypt any old time. Too hot in September! Go during February or March. Our tour guide was excellent!
This was a bucket list trip for me and it did not disappoint. As a single traveler I always felt safe and secure. All of the Trafalgar team operated flawlessly with all of the transfers, optional experiences, etc. The Nile Cruise was wonderful and the crew and food were awesome. Our tour guide/egyptologist Ramadan was full of knowledge, facts and dates flowed from him. I enjoyed all the museums too. I will treasure this experience and book future trips with Trafalgar.
I had a good time on this trip - it was mostly archeological with knowing almost everything about the past - i had an excellent egyptoligist Ramadan who was extremely knowledgeable and answered everyones questions without hesitating - he was fabulous
Be sure you're able to walk, as there are many steps, rocky surfaces and uneven ground.
An excellent and very well organised tour combining all the aspects one could want for a 'bucket list' trip to Egypt. The activities, both the included and optional, were well paced with time to relax as well as soak up the history. All the staff were fabulous, knowledgeable, and supportive.
The tour was very well thought out and planned. Every detail of travel and accommodations was covered. My tour guide, was awesome and answered all of the groups questions, kept us on track, but also allowed us to explore and have fun while seeing all the sites.
It’s was very informative and an experience I’ll never forget. Our tour guide was an absolute gentleman.
Draw money when you arrive in Egypt, not before your trip. Keep in mind that you will have to tip a few people, leave money for that, and it is not calculated in Egyptian money.
The itinerary was incredible. The list of places and excursions were very interesting and the cruise ship crew was amazing. Our guide and tour director made the the vacation.
It was an extremely well organised and co-ordinated itinerary. From the travel director *personal info removed by Feefo* to our tour guide *personal info removed by Feefo* they were very efficient in what they did. The one issue that I had was that we were restricted in what we could do(like shopping at the markets). We were taken to designated shopping places, which were overpriced. But other that that, it was an amazing experience.
The perfect trip!! There was a great balance of busy sightseeing and down time. The river cruise was spectacular!! Our tour guide was AMAZING! Sherif took care of all our needs as well as providing us with so much wonderful information. He took us to a spice shop one evening and guided us with our purchases!! Sherif stayed with my group of 4, 2 days beyond the original tour. We booked different excursions and went to Alexandria and to the new GEM. He guided us and gave a great account of each of the sites we visited. Sherif is one of the wonders if Egypt!! We were lucky to have him as our tour guide and leader.
It was the perfect itinerary for our group. We saw and learned more about everything and every sight that we visited.
Our guide was excellent! The scheduling of events was great.
Nice tour & well organized. Our tour guides were very knowledgeable, professional, and shared interesting insights.
This excursion was expertly organized and led by a competent organizer and brilliant tour guide. I was fortunate to be travelling with a charming, energetic, and caring group of people from five different continents. I enjoyed every minute of this exciting experience. Beautiful country, awesome history & architecture, and friendly people!
The entire trip was very well planned and the tour director Tolga was very detail oriented and very efficient. The driver Kerim was excellent as well. The Marmara hotel at Antalya was not up to my expectations, it was old and I would have preferred a newer place. The Exedra hotel at Cappadocia did not allocate similar rooms to all guests and we had to take it up and the tour director Tolga got it changed for the next night. We understand all rooms are different but how the hotel randomly assigned rooms was something I don't understand.
For the elderly, Trafalgar is the only way to travel! We enjoyed seamless passport/customs entry and exit - thank you ! Egypt was a good choice and our cruise up the Nile River on M/S Marion was a fantastic highlight. Our Tour Director, was the best. We were unwilling participants of the Abu Simbel optional excursion because of the cost and extra airport security that we had to go through for only 2 hours on site. However, we did enjoy seeing the extent of Lake Nasser spreading into the desert from the plane window. Overall, the experience of a well organized tour to Egypt was worth it.
Egypt is amazing. Definitely things we would do differently if we returned. Nile cruise fabulous and cruise staff outstanding. Little details were lacking. Only real negative is all the hidden costs.
