Unveil the hidden beauty of the Himalayas on the 16-day Manaslu Circuit Trek, a family-friendly adventure around the world’s eighth highest peak. This remote route, a favored alternative to the busier Annapurna Circuit, leads you through untouched Buddhist villages, dramatic mountain vistas, and vibrant rhododendron forests. Well-equipped tea houses ensure comfort along the way, and the trek’s highlight—crossing the Larke La Pass at 5,106 meters—offers a true sense of achievement. As a restricted route, you’ll benefit from expert local guidance and cultural insights. The unique selling point: pristine trails, authentic local experiences, and breathtaking scenery, making it a standout Himalayan trip for families and adventurous travelers alike.
We could not have been happier with our trek with this local travel specialist. The hike around the Manaslu mountain range was absolutely gorgeous, the scenery was breathtaking and much more diverse than we expected. For days, we walked through all kinds of jungle and rainforests - we even saw some wild monkeys, all while the mountains were towering above us in the distance. We walked beneath massive waterfalls and crossed suspension bridges hundreds of meters above the roaring mountain river that the path follows along. The acclimatization time for the altitude was perfect on this trek, and when we reached the higher mountains we could really enjoy the breathtaking landscape. Seeing Manaslu tower 5000m above you when you are already at over 3000m elevation makes you feel small in the best way possible. In the high mountains we saw dozens of eagles and hundreds of yaks. The daily hikes were not too long, but still challenging on some days, the perfect distances to keep it interesting but not too exhausting. What made this trek extremely pleasant more than anything else was our guide Lok. With his funny and open-minded nature he made even the strenuous passages of the trek feel enjoyable. He not only gave us a lot of insights about the trek and the mountains of Nepal but also brought us closer to Nepal's culture and history. Sharing our experiences with other trekkers we met along the way made us even more aware of how lucky we were to have Lok. Through his years of experience he knew all the tricks and always got us the best rooms, just for example. He also responded to our wishes on a daily basis and we were able to shape the trek individually. When one of us was not feeling well and Lok could not find anything suitable in his large first aid kit, he went above and beyond to scout out the pharmacies in every village until the necessary medicine was found. After returning from the trek, he gave us recommendations for the shops with the best quality for the best prices, which was also very helpful considering the overwhelming number of mountaineering stores in the city. We booked a porter for the trip and we were so glad we did. Being able to pack that extra sweater or pair of socks at altitude is more than worth it. Our porter was very pleasant and always there to help in the guesthouses. We had an amazing time and we will definitely be back to do another trek with Lok and this local travel specialist!
12 days over 170km reaching 5106m in altitude when you cross Larke Pass. Crossing high suspension bridges, multiple landslides 😬, through some of the most amazing scenery. The scale just blows me away and photos will never do it justice.
The Manaslu circuit is a great combination of stunning mountain scenery and authentic village life.
We had a great time on this trek. The organization was solid, the guide (Raju) and the porter (kaju) made us feel lucky to have signed on with this company. The trek itself we highly recommend, and this company seemed to do their best to make this trek the best experience possible.
It was a lot better than we expected as we were traveling in the monsoon season. We knew we were traveling in monsoon season but fortunately, it didn't rain much and we were fine. The lodge in Dharmashala was closed so we had to walk 2 days plan in 1 day, it was tiring but fortunately, the views were great in the Larke pass.
We had a great trip. The hike was very beuatiful and quite, since we started the trek at the beginning of March. Not many tourists were on the trek which made it perfect. We had a great time with Harry (guide) and Kishna (Porter) who were always in for jokes and good game of carts. Only downside was that we couldn't cross the pass, there was to much snow. The upside was we had one day in Shala completely alone, the whole village was empty. We even helped the only local there to make his lodge snow free for us. This was an awesome day since the views were stunning and it was completely quite. Thanks Harry and Kishna for the great trip! Thank you
Manaslu Trek is highly recommended to those who are interested to trek in peaceful area. Our 13 days trek was full of fun, adventure and lots of sleepless nights. This is very beautiful trekking route and recommend to those with average fitness. We didn't train much before the trek so we struggled quite a bit.
Thanks to out guide Gopal for the amazing job done. Super attentive and caring, we loved him. We felt he was looking after us like his own children. Thanks also to Upendra who provided everything that was being promised before the trek. Overall great experience and fair price.
The local travel expert was very professional quick to reply. It catered to our specific requests and really made booking the trip a breeze. We opted to pay the extra money for a private suv to and from the trek and are glad we did. It was all seemlessly organized through the travel specialist and was much more enjoyable than the bus alternative. What really made our trip enjoyable was our guide Tonda Chhandaghale. He was very knowledgeable about the trek and always knew the best places to stay. He is very kind, professional, and really stood out compared to the other guides we met along the trek. We would absolutely request him on a future trip.
Highlights was the sidetrips, tsum valley, manaslu Basecamp, pungin gumpa, and prok village. Not in our ordinary ittenary. However we squished them in since we had way to much time.
The local operator did a great job. Our guide Raju was supported by Nar and Nar, our porters who were also cooks. This turned out to be really useful as the cooking is rarely very good in the tea houses. This trek is perfect. It is popular enough that you see 30-40 trekkers per day, but neve too popular that it seems too busy. But come very prepared or it will spoil your experience. 1. Dont expect to get fit here! Do it before. You will climb up at least 6,000 metres and down the same amount. It is very tough, especially the last few day at high altitude. Get fit before you come 2. Lots if people get sick and turn around. The hygiene is some of the worst you will see anywhere on the planet, so come with lots if wet nap towels, hand sanitizer, water purification pills, etc 3. Its REALLY cold at altitude and you will wear everything you have at altitude. You need to bring good gloves, hats, warm amateurs etc as i5 will get to -15-20 degrees and if youre not prepared you will suffer. Dont let me put you off though. Its a 7nique experience, just prepare carefully so you enjoy and complete it!
Awesome trek. Our guide Dawa was great! We highly recommend him. Great weather and no issues,
Little hikers on the way, incredible views, nice lodges to sleep in, good food, friendly people...all was just excellent! It was an amazing bubble to be in - with fresh air and always stunning enviroment around. One gets so used to hike every day, be outdoors & enjoy the peacefullness that at the end it is strange to stop and go back to the city & civilization. We have been super lucky with the weather and also with our guide - Dawa - who made this trip even more amazing and unforgettable!
Just completed trekking the Manaslu circuit and Tsum Valley. Every day has been a unique experience and it really has been the trip of a lifetime. Our guide Hari was excellent and ensured we had everything taken care of - I couldn't rate him higher! Also thanks to our porter Iman who was also always there to help. Upendra, the company director, communicated everything to us clearly before we arrived and made the process an easy one. Go trekking with these guys you won't regret it!
I did this trek with my gf in May 2018. We landed in Kathmandu and waited 1 more day to organize our permits by the company. All the services were provided by the company as promised. The price was very reasonable comparing to many other agencies.
This was a great trek -- 6-7 hour days at the low elevations, about half that as we got higher, with daily side-treks to keep active and acclimate, all leading up to a big day over Larke pass. The mountain views are incredible, and you pass through an astonishing array of distinct ecological zones, moving from tropical jungles and their different kinds of monkeys up to alpine zones of yaks and blue sheep. When we went, in early May, there were at most 20-25 other trekkers doing roughly the same trip at the same time. This never felt crowded, and we had plenty of time on the trail to ourselves. Despite being completely inaccessible by vehicle, there is plenty of decent food and drink the whole way -- fresh veggies are scarce at the higher elevations, but there is always fresh bread, rice, pasta, potatoes, carrots, cabbage, etc. Parts of the trail, especially between Deng and Namrung, are in somewhat sketchy condition since they have not been fully repaired since the 2015 earthquake. An experienced guide can help you navigate safely through these sections.
We 3 working colleagues from Singapore did Manaslu Trek with the local operator which is finished just today. The trek was amazing, our guide made an excellent effort to cross the pass. The trek is very beautiful, lots of villages and beautiful scenery.
Our trek was followed by an amazing flight to Everest Base Camp on a helicopter. We took a customized package with the company with jeep option on both ways. It would have been a terrible experience without taking the jeep. The trek, our guide Dawa, lodges we stayed along the trek and the overall experience was more than our imagination. The company left no space making the trek a great experience. We definitely had fantastic trekking, amazing weather, snowy pass and steep downhill. We can highly recommend the company for trekking in Nepal. It was truly a memorable experience for both of us.
Fantastic trek. Beautiful views, wonderful people and good lodges and food! Far less trekkers than on the EBC/Annapurna trails.
My girlfriend and I hike the Manaslu circuit trek in this previous month. We had an amazing experience in one of the most beautiful trails in the world, with a super guide Suman and his co assistant. Thanks to the local operator.
We did arrange our trek in Nepal with local travel specialists in Kathmandu. The trek was smoothly planned and we had the best time for sure. The guide was very informative as well as the porters were very strong and caring. The trek was busy in November which was not as per the expectation. In overall, our experience was amazing.
This is a wonderful trek with fabulous changing scenery as you climb up to the pass . We had blue skies every day and enjoyed walking through many different villages and catching a glimpse of Nepali rural life. The route is not busy so go soon as it is becoming more popular.
We had a wonderful trekking, due to some authentic villages we passed, the beautiful scenery of the mountains and nature. Besides that we had a very nice guide and porter (Bal & Doohma). During our trekking there was a strong cold wind what made it challenging to cross the pass. The only minus is that a road is constructed at the last part of the trekking, what makes the hiking from there less interesting.
Awesome trip with varied terrain. Very few people. Most of the time spent in solitude on the trails. Huge mountains, raging rivers, pine forests, jungles, Tibetan influence, yaks and all. You pass so many bridges that are suspended over rapids. It truly is the perfect trek! Do it!
I did Manaslu Trek combined with Annapurna Circuit with my girlfriend. It was an excellent trip in the Himalayas. Everything went great and we really had a beautiful time. Thank you to the local tour specialists.
We had a beautiful trek in Nepal organized by local travel experts. We did a combined trek of Manaslu circuit and Annapurna Circuit in April, 2017 which was amazing. Really happy to be part of this adventure.
We, a group of 7 friends booked a trip with a local tour operator upon arrival in Nepal. Everything was greatly arranged within a very short time which was fantastic. We booked the service which included guide, porters, transfers, and permits only. It was an amazing holiday.
I have done many hikes in Asia, Europe and the Americas, however, Manaslu Trek was one of the most adventurous and fully entertained treks of my life. The trekking route is amazing and less commercialized than many other treks in Nepal. Highly recommend for trekkers looking for a beautiful trek in the relatively peaceful environment!
Excellent Trek to Manaslu, beautiful views, natural trek with lots of memories in Nepal!
It was a great adventure full of young people. I really enjoyed the adventure. Manaslu Trekking was great but monsoon spoiled some of the fun. In overall, a great adventure!
We trekked Manaslu circuit which was organized by local tour specialists in Kathmandu. One of the members in our group trekked with them to Annapurna before and we thought of joining them again for this trek. It was such a beautiful holiday in Nepal cherished by our guides and porters who worked very hard to give us a beautiful journey. The trek itself was an amazing journey with lots of greenery, amazing people, and cozy guesthouses. The trail was free of people throughout the journey. We had a great time in Nepal.
I and 6 other friends did the Manaslu Trek which was organized by local tour experts in Kathmandu and it was a marvelous experience! We had an awesome time, the guide was funny, caring and well experienced. The porters were very experienced as well. Such a beautiful adventure in Nepal, thank you.
Such a beautiful trek with very few people on the trail. We enjoyed the holiday, 7 trekkers and 3 staffs, amazing holiday!
I and my friend Alyssa did Manaslu Circuit Trek in 2017 and it was a great experience. The trek is really beautiful and unspoiled comparing to Annapurna trail. Thank you for suggesting us this route. It was a great choice.
We had a fabulous time in Nepal. The meeting upon arrival was easy and the guide was waiting just outside the airport building. The guide made sure that we are doing fine time to time, he was excellent at providing information about the journey so we could make the most out of the trekking program. The trekking program was designed just to fit our availability. We would definitely recommend this tour.
I did a trek to Manaslu on 2017 with my friend Marta from Mexico. For Manaslu Trek in Wikitravel, we looked at the reviews and messaged the local tour specialists. It was really a good choice. The trek is a amazing route, you will meet only few people. The views are incredible and the route is still unspoiled. It was tough to cross Larke pass but we maanged to cross it with no problems. In overall, we really had an amazing journey in Nepal.
