Chile Hiking Tours

This trip was an amazing way to see Chilean and Argentinian Patagonia. There were two full day hikes, one to base Torres and one to base Mt Fitzroy. Both hikes were about 15 miles round trip with 3000 to 4000 feet of elevation gain. Be prepared for these two full days of hiking. However, some of the group was able to hike faster while some could hike slower as there were three guides on each hike. The trip manager and guides were all friendly and helpful making for an enjoyable experience. Other activities included glacier viewing via boat, kayaking, and horseback riding which made for a well rounded trip. The weather is unpredictable so make sure you’re prepared for wind, rain, snow and sun possibly all in one day. This was the most active Contiki I have been apart of, and was a perfect change of pace from the usual city focused Contiki's. I highly recommend this tour if you’re looking to be in nature, experience Chilean and Argentinian culture, and have an active week.

The itinerary is excellent. Tough walks due to the steep and rocky terrain but well rewarded by the scenery and sense of achievement. The accommodation was some of the best I have had with Explore - great location, clean and comfortable, staff all friendly and helpful. Delicious food. Gluten free diet catered for very well. Above all,, our tour leader, Duane, really made this trip. Professional, knowledgeable, encouraging, approachable and fun … he worked so hard to make sure everyone enjoyed the week. Thanks Duane!

We had a fantastic experience working with Florencia and Mery from the team! From the very beginning, they were true partners in helping us craft an itinerary that felt personalized and well-balanced. Communication throughout the planning process (and during the trip itself) was also excellent. They were always responsive and proactive, and we especially appreciated the valuable updates they provided while we were traveling. For example, when a transportation strike unexpectedly happened during our trip, they stepped in to help us navigate the situation and adjust our plans smoothly. Milagros and Marcela from SayHueque helped me plan a fantastic 10-day Essential Of Patagonia trip (mostly Argentina and 1 leg in Chile) and made the trip very smooth and easy to customize based on my preferences. For first-timers to the region, i would highly-recommend utilizing them as they are very knowledgeable and responsive. The Laguna de los Tres, Perito Moreno glacier, and the Torres del Paine Mirador hikes were sublime and unforgettable!! I would opt for "hard" hikes if possible to see the most, and try it out at least, and if not you can always tell your guide that it is too difficult and they will modify the path during the trek.

We like to travel on our own and at our own pace. The representatives are the best we have worked with in our extensive global travels. They took time to understand our preferences to personalize a 14 day visit to Argentina and Chile Patagonia. We love to hike and have a comfortable hotel at the end of the day. Every step of the way whether it was being greeted at the airport for personal transfers or checking in, every detail was delivered as agreed and really more than we expected. Oh, and we like to splurge a bit so when we arrived in Buenos Aires and before our departure from Santiago, they found us great hotels right where you would want to be in those cities. Our hotels in Puerto Natales, El Chalten and El Calafate were also great. Their representatives on the ground in both countries are top notch. Simply the best.

I had the team organize a two week exploration of Patagonia. Everything went surprisingly smooth. Rides were waiting at airports, flights booked logically, lodging selections were a mix between quaint and luxury, but all were wonderful. The company worked with me on the itinerary and all the support teams communicated well via Whatsapp. I'd use them again.
