Torres del Paine National Park beckons outdoor enthusiasts to take on the famed W Trek in this self-guided, 5-day trekking tour. Starting and ending in Puerto Natales, this challenging adventure is tailored for active young adults and seasoned travelers eager to explore Patagonia’s dramatic French Valley, shimmering lakes, and the park’s legendary granite towers. All logistics—accommodation, transport, meals—are arranged, so you can fully immerse yourself in glacier-clad vistas and dynamic wildlife. The unique selling point? The freedom to conquer the iconic W Trek at your own pace, with the support and security of a pre-organized package. Capture epic landscapes, spot guanacos and condors, and experience the wild, raw beauty of Chile’s most celebrated trekking destination. This is the ultimate trip for those ready to push their limits and witness nature’s grandeur up close.
The trails were very well marked and easy to hike on your own. There is a clear itinerary of where you should be each night. Do not bring food, as there is an excellent and ample breakfast, lunch and dinner provided. The showers were also decent and at all the camps on the W trek and had warm water. The sleeping bags and mats were warm enough, although I did go in December, so summer season. Transfers were seamless. We had to wait for the ferry to make a second trip at the end, so a one hour thirty minutes delay, and the buses waited on us to take us back to Puerto Natales. Having everything booked took the stress out of trying to get my own sites and transportation, and meals being provided saved a lot on weight. Overall, no complaints and a great trip!!
What an incredible experience. The landscape is aboslutely stunning. This was a lot of fun and I can't recommend it enough.
We did the W in on our own (you really do not need a guide). We loved the views and always changing beauty of nature: From glaciers with blue lakes to wonderful soft mountains with flowers and forrest. Would always do it again.
I had a really great experience immersing in nature, soaking in the stunning views, and getting to meet hikers from all over the world.
I had trained in anticipation for this trek by doing several hikes with roughly the same weight I'd be carrying in Torres del Paine. I also had completed a half marathon in Patagonia so I was acclimated to the elevation. I'm very glad that I had the training before hand. It made the trek more enjoyable and I was able to keep a good pace.
