Such a Great Company to Travel to Bhutan and Nepal

I booked my trip to Bhutan and Nepal and I am impressed by the client service and how available they were for me. I asked so many questions to Kyle (thanks again) and he was always super kind and helpful. I would definitely recommend them if you are looking for a travel company to assist you to travel to Bhutan and/or Nepal. The itinerary they propose is varied, not too overpacked and helps you to enjoy a great trip. Nancy

Bhutan great nature and soul trip

Lovely Trip, Awesome People Have just returned from a 7 nights trip to Bhutan with my daughter this Summer. I cannot recommend Jovi from AOT enough - flawless organisation, great communication leading up to, and during our trip. We were met at Paro airport by Kins, our tour guide and our driver (many apologies, I didn’t write down you name ). We were in good hands from the start and had an incredibly informative and enjoyable trip. Kins and the driver were always on time, got us to spectacular locations safely and were open to ideas if we wanted to change the itinerary. When my daughter became unwell, they were incredibly helpful and supportive. Would definitely recommend this tour and the lovely Kin and driver. ❤❤❤❤

Wonderful Bhutan Trip in July.

My family went to Bhutan in July this year. Mr. Jovi helped us organize everything and He was amazing. So helpful, clear communication, and efficient every step of the way. He helped answer many questions about my travel in Bhutan as well which was so nice of him. Our Bhutan trip was so great, and my local guide Migma was the best! and Sonam ( his driver) were excellent. Would recommend this company and especially Jovi for organizing!

Epic spiritual tour in Bhutan.

I enquired about a customized Bhutan private tour. Within a couple of hours, travel consultant, Chris, reached out to me and sorted out all the logistics based on my needs. He was very responsive and trustworthy. The local Bhutanese tour guide assigned to me, Dago was also very accommodating and helpful. I would definitely recommend this team to everyone.

Thrilling Adventures Got Me Hooked

They helped us with every detail along the way, from the visa to the airport for departure, everything was smooth. They accompanied us to the Tiger’s nest (and even helped me carry my bag when I felt weak!). I highly recommend using them to book your tour to Bhutan.

Perfect tour & excellent service!

An Inspiring Tour to Bhutan We had a great trip to Bhutan this year. We worked on the trip for a whole year with an agent - Jovi who is wonderful, he planned a magnificent tour for us and was always there to answer our questions. The tour was great with wonderful guides who did everything they could to satisfy and make us happy. They took good care of us where needed. The drivers were excellent, in winding, rugged, narrow roads we felt completely safe. Everything on the tour worked perfectly well. Thank you.

Planning tips for solo travelers to Bhutan

Safest destinations in Bhutan for single travelers

With its peaceful Buddhist culture and emphasis on harmony, Bhutan warmly welcomes solo travelers seeking a safe and enriching experience. The country's famously low crime rates ensure cities such as Thimphu, Paro, and Punakha remain relaxed and secure for women traveling alone. Visitors from diverse cultural or racial backgrounds frequently report experiencing genuine warmth and inclusivity from locals. English is widely spoken, particularly by tour operators and in hotels, easing communication concerns. While Bhutan maintains conservative traditions around LGBTQI+ visibility, travelers from the community encounter respectful interactions and discretion. We’d advise steering away from public display of affection.

Cost of traveling to Bhutan alone

Traveling solo in Bhutan is relatively expensive, largely due to Bhutan's mandatory Sustainable Development Fee (SDF), which costs USD 100 per day for foreign tourists. This fee contributes to sustainable tourism and local development. Additionally, regulations require visitors traveling beyond Paro and Thimphu to hire a licensed tour guide, which adds to overall expenses. Independent travelers should anticipate spending around USD 100–130 per day, excluding international flights. Bookmundi’s structured Bhutan solo trips that include more conventional destinations begin at roughly USD 300 per day, conveniently covering accommodations, transportation, select meals, guide services, and the SDF. A trekking trip would come around USD 130 per day.
