Bhutan Cultural Tours

28 reviews on bookmundi

Having opened up to the outside world only in the last few decades, Bhutan remains an enigmatic land with its centuries-old culture and traditions largely intact and waiting to be discovered. Witness Tshechus, a religious dance festival on the grounds of monasteries in Bhutan cultural tours. It features Buddhist monks in colorful costumes and striking masks dancing amid ancient mystical chants and the mesmerizing beating of drums. Visit Ogyen Choling Palace and Museum in the remote Tang Valley, a sacred site established by Buddhist master Dorji Lingpa in the 14th century. The art and artifacts in the building provide unique insights into Bhutanese life. Do not miss the 17th-century Punakha Dzong, perhaps the country’s most beautiful dzong (fortified Buddhist monastery). The dzong is a cultural landmark where Bhutan’s kings are crowned. Enjoy the excellent display of old and modern textiles and learn about the importance of the wedding dresses of royals at Thimphu’s Royal Textile Academy. Excellent

Amazing! Jigme was the best guide to experience Bhutan with. Bhutan itself is a very unique country and we saw so many things, it was never boring. Tiger‘s nest was the ultimative highlight.

I had a wonderful time in Bhutan- this is a beautiful and remote country, full of kind and warm people, a beautiful culture and rugged wilderness. The tour has a good mix of activities and our guide was excellent. If you can, ask for Kinley!

We lije g adventures. I would book exclusively with you IF you dropped the group size to 12. 17 was a bigger group than we prefer for "small group" experience

Overall we had a great experience, seeing the countries that we travelled to from a less lofty (not 5 star) view added to our experience of each country. Our CEOs made the tour more than it could have been, they were great!

There was so much I didn’t know about India Nepal and Bhutan. This experience has cemented the memory in place. CEO in each case worked tirelessly towards making sure we had the best time possible. I’m sure they used their close contact with Buddha to ensure we had perfect weather.

Awesome Experience, Well Taken Care Of!

I had an amazing wonderful experience visiting Bhutan with this company over the past week. From the start to the end of the trip, I was very well taken care of by Tsenrig (owner), Kar Chung (guide) & Leki (driver). My itinerary was adapted to my likings (nature, local cultural experience & food) and Maebar delivered well! Key highlights of the trip include: leisurely walks across the pine forests at Phobjikha Valley & rustic authentic villages, a challenging hike to Tiger's Nest at 4000m high, a unique local hot stone bath & cuisine dinner in a village home, immersing myself in ancient architectures & monastery way of life at Punakha and Rinpung Dzongs hundreds of years old etc. All hotel lodgings arranged were very comfortable, clean & spacious. The all inclusive food was a good mix of familiar international cuisine, as well as additional local Bhutanese food. I leave Bhutan with fond memories and appreciation of its unique & rich heritage. Many thanks to Tsenrig, Kar Chung and Leki for a wonderful trip!
