My time on the barge and walking was wonderful. Loved the daily exploration. Our cook was fabulous.
Great walking and accommodation with friendly crew.
Beautiful scenery and very nice walking trail.
I felt like I was in summer camp! Loved sleeping on the barge. The food was terrific and the walk was quite an accomplishment.
A wonderful trip made extra special by the barge crew, hike leader and chef.
The barge and walk the Great Glen Way was a wonderful experience. This was my eighth trip with them and as always, every detail was well organized and the trip ran exactly as described. As a bonus the weather, fellow walkers, our guide Lexi and the food were all just perfect.
Fantastic experience with engaging, informed and enthusiastic team. Great food, sights and activities. Weather was perfect.
Outstanding experience, food was awesome, guide was excellent; just great exchange with fellow travellers I had never met before.
The walk and barge Scotland was fantastic. One needs to be in quite good physical shape as the hills could be a challenge. You definitely need good comfortable hiking boots as some trails were rocky.
Wonderful staff, delicious food, incredible scenery!
The crew and guide were excellent. The food was fantastic in both quality and quantity. The hikers were great people which made the hiking easier and the evenings enjoyable. I highly recommend.
The week exceeded all my expectations…fantastic barge with such helpful and friendly crew; a delicious food, thank you Darren; Cam was a brilliant guide, so good humoured all the time and the company was great.
Coast to coast barge trip walking Great Glen Way was fabulous. The operator & crew members, on board ensuite cabins, walking guide & food all excellent.
Great fun, I walked 120 ks over 6 days in varied beautiful scenery. The barge had excellent accommodation, fabulous interesting and informative crew, and absolutely delicious food.
The Hike/Barge trip across Scotland was wonderful. The barge was very comfortable and the staff knowledgeable and friendly. We all interacted like family. The food was amazing and a real surprise. There was a choice of hikes most days depending on how challenged you wanted to be or if you wanted to take it easier. It was also very comfortable to just stay on the barge if you wanted a half day or full day off hiking. The hikes were beautiful.
Fabulous experience - the cabins on the Ros Crana barge, the walking, crew, guide & food, were all marvellous.
The tour was great, and the four staff on the Ros Crana boat were excellent. Whilst the full distance from coast to coast was 80 miles you did not have to walk the entire distance.
The crew (skipper, bosan, guide, cook) were all professional and fun and ensured all the guests were safe, enjoying themselves and extremely well fed. Each evening the following days barge trip was outlined as were the walking options. As the barge had to negotiate many locks there were many hop on/hop off points for those not wanting to walk the entire Great Glen. The scenery both from the barge and the well maintained walking tracks was so spectacular that the light rain each day of our trip seemed insignificant. The facilities on the barge were very comfortable and it was fun having meals all together around one large table. The cabins were comfortable and the showers functioned exceptionally well with good pressure and warmth. Our only suggestion would be the reconfiguration of the split level bed to two singles would suit the majority of travelers in our age group of retirees.
A fantastic way to walk the Great Glen Way. The barge was very well equipped and comfortable. The staff were fantastic as was the food provided for every meal. So nice to come back to fresh cooked cake and tea each afternoon after walking.
