day 1Arrive Porec

Make your way to Porec and check in at the first hotel (due to availability we occasionally use a hotel in nearby Vrsar). Porec is rich in culture and history and we recommend taking some time to walk through the town this afternoon. You can walk along the old city centre, where you'll find the Roman Forum, magnificent palaces from different historical periods, and to top it all off, the famous Euphrasian Basilica (Euphrasiana). At 7.00pm there will be a welcome briefing where you'll receive your rental bike.
Overnight Porec or Vrsar.

day 2Discover Porec by bike, cycle along the coastline to the Buje region (72km/45mi)

day 3Cycle via fascinating towns to Buzet (54km/34mi)

day 4Cycle to Rabac or Labin, pearls of Kvarner Bay (67km/42mi)

Great logistics and beautifully laid out riding. Rigorous in the heat but doable for 70-year-old women. Good hotels and welcoming staff. Staff were punctual, informative and friendly. Beautiful riding along the coast and through villages. I would suggest a 2-night stay to enjoy the villages. Stop to smell the roses.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 6-day cycle around Istria in May. The hills gave a little challenge but the rewards were many with great sweeping descents and amazing scenery. Then the coastal rides offered the opportunity to take a dip in the Adriatic and visit beautiful towns like Rovinj. The hotels were all excellent with great hospitality and food. I would definitely recommend them and hope to have another cycle or hiking trip in the future.
