Duong was an amazing leader with a wonderful sense of humour. He was so passionate and knowledgeable about his country. He cared about each and every one of us and consistently ensured we were all happy and comfortable with arrangements. He would move the itinerary around to suit us and the weather and also suggested and added other extra trips/experience's he thought we may enjoy. Overall, an excellent leader.
Fast-paced tour of the whole of Vietnam. The organisation was excellent. The hotels were great and many had a pool. The guide was friendly and knowledgeable. It ticked all the boxes for the must sees of a beautiful country. I can highly recommend.
Inside Vietnam was an excellent trip from Hanoi to Saigon via some fabulous locations. The itinerary planned for us to visit iconic locations such as the Imperial citadel in Hue, the Cu Chi tunnels and the Old Quarter in Hanoi. There was also free time for us to explore on our own and add in experiences such as a cooking class. The accommodation was excellent with hotels located centrally. We also enjoyed an overnight train trip on the Reunification express and a fabulous homestay at Ben Tre on the Mekong river. Our guide, Quang, was excellent - keen to talk about Vietnam and willing to answer our questions. His recommendations for locations for evening meals were excellent and we enjoyed trying the different foods of Vietnam which changed as we moved South. This is a fabulous trip which gives you a good insight into Vietnam.
I had a fantastic experience with Explore team in Vietnam. It was well organised.
Excellent two weeks, with many highlights, and a fun group of fellow Explorers. My faves were the Women's Museum, and the 10.25 on Train Street in Hanoi; the Imperial Citadel in Hue on Valentine's Day (lots of dressing up!); the Homestay on the Mekong and riding bicycles through the paddy fields; and Saigon/Ho Chi Minh. Tree lined boulevards, fab restaurants, friendly locals, and the Bamboo Circus in the Opera House. Binh, our tour leader was fantastic. Nothing was too much trouble, and as well as being very insightful on the tour highlights, it was especially interesting to hear about the complex history of Vietnam from a local's point of view, and how people live now. Cam on!
First trip with Explore. Our Guide Dien, was the best I’ve ever had and has set the bar high for future trips. Temperatures varied top to bottom and I would suggest Explore advise travellers in Feb to allow for cool & very wet weather in the north and 30+ in the south. We were cold for the first few days, as had packed summer clothes. Itinerary was good, but we would have liked 2 nights in the Mekong home stay.
Excellent tour with Explore where hotels are picked for location rather than 5 star ratings, giving you easy access to the location’s sights & attractions. Binh our tour leader was fantastic sharing real insights into Vietnam & its people, organising meals together in great restaurants we would never have found. The group size was 16 which was a good number to manage & we were fortunate to travel with lovely likeminded people. This is our 4th Explore trip & having tried other companies we’ve found that no one compares to them.
Great experience with Explore on 14 day visit to Vietnam. Everything went smoothly and most of the major sites were visited, Excellent guide and lots of fun on the trip. My knowledge about Vietnam has increased immensely.
Had a lovely trip with Explore to Vietnam. Well-paced trip where we got to see a lot of this beautiful country. Hotels were all clean and well equipped. Staff were all very helpful and offered great service. As a solo traveller I felt very safe. We got to eat some amazing food! Our guide was well organised and looked after us really well.
This was our first group tour and it did not disappoint. Our group leader Quang was fantastic. He was so knowledgeable and thorough, happy to answer any questions. Our transfers were seamless we never had to wait once. The itinerary was full every day and had we not been on a tour we would have missed some of the interesting places we went to. It was the Tet holiday while we were there so our itinerary was changed slightly but Quang found us lots to do. He was great even arranged a personalised birthday cake for me! We would thoroughly recommend this tour.
This two week tour was a nice introduction to Vietnamese culture and sights. Beautiful places were included in the trip; Ha long bay, Hue and Hoi An I did not know much about, My Son site that I will never forget. The home stay in the Mekong delta was amazing, especially since it was the new lunar year. The two huge cities (Hanoi and Saigon) were very busy with millions of motorcycles, pollution; it was a terrifying experience to cross roads. I did not care much about visiting the memorials of uncle Ho or Cu Chi, less war tourism would have been better. The overnight train experience was not a positive one; I personally do not like to spend the night in a tiny, uncomfortable and noisy cabin with 3 strangers. Definitely would have opted for a flight if given a choice. From the optional programs I definitely recommend the cooking class in Hoi An.
Whistle stop tour of the length of Vietnam in 2 weeks. Boats, planes and automobiles. Fabulous food. Lovely overnight stay at a Homestay in the Mekong Delta. Crossing the road in cities is not for the faint hearted. Learn about this country's history.
We have had several great holidays with Explore, but this trip was just not for us., Maybe we should have done more research. For us, there was too much time on the bus, and in busy, polluted cities. The tour leader, Quoc Anh, was fantastic and I could not recommend him high enough.
