I feel like I've seen as much of India as possible in a month. There was a full range of activities that included "must-see" sites. There was a balance of occasional free time without sacrificing getting as much out of our day as possible! The high opinion I have of your CEOs has remained intact--I don't know how you are able to harvest such high quality individuals to lead the tours. I love G Adventures.
Excellent introduction to group travelling and India.
India IS overwhelming, but in all the best ways. It’s an assault on the senses with noise, colors, crowds, friendly people, and fascinating traditions that stimulate your sense of adventure. If you can let go of your orderly routines of home, nothing will tease, exhaust, and thrill you like a journey through India.
India is an amazing country and I will definitely be back. Both guides knowledge made a big difference to my experience of the country and I couldn't had done it without them. However the quality of the accommodations really let it down, particularly in the north. The final thing I'd like to add is tipping. There was a huge disparity in the amount of tipping expected in north and south, which made budgeting harder. Our CEO in the south suggested a tipping kitty, which whilst expensive did take the presurre off knowing what to do. If in a culture that expects tips then I'd much rather it was just included in the price of the trip, the same with the tip for the ceo/guide. This is a big addition expense to budget for.
I loved the whole tour! The North was go, go, go, packed with sights, learnings and experience. The South brought and easier pace but more depth to the culture and an appreciation of the diversity in India. I will never think of India and its people the same way as they now have a special place in my heart and mind.
I had a fantastic time in India with G Adventures. The tour provided a good mix of sightseeing and experiencing local life - including in the countryside and smaller towns/villages. I also really like that they support local organisations and charities helping vulnerable people in the communities the tour passes through. The guides (CEOs) were both excellent - friendly and knowledgeable and looked after us very well.
I had such a special experience on my India Encompassed Tour, even after a whole month I didn't want it to end. The perfect stress free holiday getting to see and explore many parts of the North & South.
Just amazing, the people food history it was all amazing Cheers
