Imperial Europe

The tour was a beautiful mix of activity and immersion in the local culture of Europe. We opted for all of the additional experiences and were glad we did. Erik was a great guides constantly giving exceptional small tips to make travel easier.

1. Our tour director Erik was great and very helpful. Our driver Blaje was amazing and drove very safely. 2. The hotel in Munich on the first day Holiday Inn wasn't really nice and felt budget. 3. Prague Evening Panorama - it would be better to see Charles Bridge during the day. The pictures did not turn out nice. Maybe earlier like sunset? Also the tram ride was not my favorite as you can barely see much. Overall, this optional tour can be improved. 4. Danube Cruise With Dinner - Excellent! Food was great! 5.Szentendre and Light Lunch - the recipe of the goulash should have been shared to the guests. Also, the serving of goulash wasn't enough for the guests and we were told that we can ask for more too late when we were already having dessert. 5. Vienesse Concert - Amazing! 6. Lake and Mountain Tour - we didn't really get to see a lake up close. We just drove by. This tour can be improved. It was nice to see the Sound of Music sights. 7. Dinner at Munich - the pork knuckle was so tough

This trip was amazing! Our guides were full of knowledge about the area and we learned so much about the history of each place we visited. It is so hard to pick a favorite---night river cruise down the Danube was spectacular, the castle in Prague was beautiful, Glockenspiel in Munich, Cathedrals, concert in Vienna, cooking demonstration in Budapest, The Sound of Music stops, The Eagles Nest, the food, I could go on and on...everything was just perfect. I highly recommend everyone going on this tour!

It provided me with a great snapshot of the cities and towns we visited. This tour was my first bus tour so for me I have realised I personally prefer a holiday with more activity.

This fast paced tour was fabulous! Interesting cities and villages, well organized optional excursions, support and knowledge from our tour director, convenient and comfortable bus transportation, and selected and reserved hotel rooms made for an easy vacation because all of the planning had been done for me. When I recall all of the countries and towns visited, I am awestruck. I know that it would have been very difficult to achieve this schedule and pace if I DIY-ed it. The location of the hotel in Budapest, which was across the river from the impressive Parliament building, was outstanding. Unfortunately, the hotel room for the last night in Munich was completely unacceptable. The sewage smell backed up into the drain of the shower and I could not shower that morning due to the grotesque smell. Because I was in the room for less than twelve hours, I did not complain about it but I believe the hotel knows about this problem as they tried to camouflage the odor with a heavy cologne smelled when you first entered the room. Most of the excursions included old world quaint towns with cobblestone streets and interesting architecture with unique gift shops and handmade items. There was a nice balance between having down time and being on the go. If you prefer a slower pace, then you have the option to schedule fewer excursions. You pay for the additional costs of these excursions on the bus ride on the second day to Prague. I decided to take advantage of all of the optional trips except for the dinner in Vienna. My least favorite excursion was the Czech dinner in Prague and my most favorite included the Viennese Concert, trip to Szentendre near Budapest, and Berchtesgaden in the Bavarian Alps. I really appreciated our tour director sharing small gifts of food samples which were timed just perfectly after walking and touring for a few hours. Erik also pointed out different food stands or unique items to look out for in the different towns that were visited. Also, bring enough clothes that will last you the entire time away from home as there are no convenient washaterias and the hotel laundry service is very expensive.

Excellent itinerary, knowledgable guides, organisation runs like clock work. We would have been happy to spend more on better accomodation and dinners if they'd been offered.

This itinerary touched the areas I wanted to experience in central Europe. The experience was so much more than I expected. The tour director and driver were very good and I felt secure and well cared for.

The Travel Director, *************, and the driver, Peter are excellent. During the entire trip, Mike is so helpful to all of us and Peter is an excellent driver. The itinerary of this trip is excellent and well organized, including all the local tour guides.

During the entire trip, he is so helpful and patience for all of us whenever we had questions or needed help. He managed each day activities and time very well. Peter is an excellent driver, who made us feel so easy and safe during the entire 10 days bus tour trip. The itinerary of this trip is excellent and well organized, including all the local tour guides.

Love to be kept busy so am probably one of the few that needs less free time. The hotels were great. The meals good and on the whole we had a wonderful time.

I found this trip to meet my needs and more. Our tour guide was excellent and had great people skills. She was accommodating to individual and group needs. I wish we had stayed in the cities longer - next time I will choose trips that have long stays and really immerse myself in the beautiful cities. Thanks Trafalgar.

YOU ARE VERY BUSY, START VERY EARLEY AND VERY ACTIVE ON TOURS AND MEALS. EXHAUSTING BUT NECISSARY TO SEE AS MUCH AS YOU CAN WHILE THERE. GREAT MEETING PEOPLE FROM ALL OVER THE WORLD. SO MUCH HISTORY TO LEARN AND THE ARCHITECTURE.

Great Tour we covered a lot of ground in 10 days. Our Tour Guide was a great guide very knowledgeable and helpful. This was our 3rd Trafalgar Tour and we will continue to use them. Make sure to purchase all the optional excursions.

It was our 2nd trip with Trafalgar - (1) Spanish Wonder tour; and (2) Imperial Europe. Everything was taken care of from flights, transfers, hotels, itineraries, and optional excursions. I am sure that everyone would agree with me. Also, she was fair, and had a sense of humour. Most of all, she is a multilingual speaker. Loved and appreciated the thoughtful itinerary and all the people associated with making it happen. We hit all the key landmarks and had time to explore. We were impressed with the rest stops in smaller cities like Regensburg, Bratislava, Gyor. We loved the cruises with meals and views (Budapest stole our hearts). It was so well organized and planned. Thank you for a memorable experience.

This itinerary allows you to see a lot of different cities in a short amount of time. I like to see as much as possible when i travel so this worked well for me.

Too fast. Seemed to be pushing towards the deadline. Not enough time to enjoy each destination.

Beautiful old world cities with interesting histories and architecture. Learned a lot about the empires and politics of the area over the past centuries, along with the post-Soviet era changes and their hopes for their future.

The itinerary is full of but not overwhelming. There were plenty of optional excursions if you choose to participate. If you prefer some down time that's available. Would have been nice if the hotels were more centrally located to city centers.

Fabulous tour! Munich, Prague, Budapest, Vienna & Salzburg are mesmerizingly beautiful. Regensburg, Bratislava & Györ are enchanting too! I truly enjoyed this tour & the people I met.

It was not value for money. You had to purchase extra tours. We bought the Sound of Music tour extra and it was an absolute waste . Positives are that we made good friends that we have continued friendships with. Our tour group were all nice people. The included tours were informative, however more could be added rather than expecting people to purchase extra tours.

2 nights in Salzburg would have been perfect. Was a bit too much to do all the activities in 1 day.

A really great itinerary made excellent by , our fantastic Tour Director. So informative, humorous, and with personal attention to every detail. Our coach driver , also excellent and efficient. The only negative comment from me is that, particularly on a long busy day, some of the "free time" in crowded places was a little too long.

I recently joined Trafalgar’s Imperial Europe tour, and it was an incredible way to see so much history, culture, and beauty in one journey. The itinerary was well-balanced between must-see highlights and unique local experiences. From the grandeur of Vienna and Prague to the charm of Budapest and Munich, each city offered something unforgettable. Our Travel Director was knowledgeable, approachable, and kept everything running smoothly, while our driver’s skill and patience navigating the busy European roads deserves a special mention. The accommodation and included meals were consistently good, with just the right mix of structure and free time to explore independently. Plenty of amazing optional experiences to choose from. Well planned out days with free time available

Overall it was a fantastic trip though we always got up early almost the entire tour which we normally expected. Our tour director was excellent he always answered our questions, very organized and pleasant. our driver was excellent as well and kind enough to load our luggages in the bus every time we moved to the next country. Kudos to both of them. However we’re not so pleased with the hotels in Munich - Leonardo Royal Hotel floors was so sticky and the bathroom was not the cleanest. Holiday Inn Munich we saw a bed bug in our bed I should have taken a photo. Not the cleanest as well. It was not the Holiday Inn that I expected. We enjoyed all the places that we visited specially Prague. But the optional tour of Lakes and Mountains I would not recommend it for people from Canada and US as they are the same or even better.

Very well organized, stress free

So organized! And such a wonderful variety of things to see and do, always with guides who were so knowledgeable!

The schedule was hectic, but manageable and allowed us to see some incredible sites.

A worry- free holiday choice with all logistics taken care of. Definitely suits single and part- family travellers (I travelled with my teen daughter). Wonderfully selected hotels -centrally located. Good standard with good included breakfasts. We did not elect to do most of the extra lunch time tours and so had a lot of time to sit in the parks of small pretty towns -lovely. Lots of local specialist guides which left me feeling like the tour leader was more a conductor or hostess on the bus.

The itinerary was very well coordinated. The tour guide director () was always available to the group for any concerns and questions. The bus driver () was very good with his skills.

Our tour director, Maya was incredible, knowledgeable, accommodating and fun. I did find that on some stops there was too much "free" time and would have preferred to be at our day destination earlier. I found 2- 2.5 hrs of free time was excessive inconsideration of the locations where we were at. The local experts were great and the fellow we had was so knowledgeable with many funny stories. This was our third trip with Trafalgar and Cost Savers and never disappointed. In my opinion the tour director makes the trip and we have been lucky enough to have 3 great directors

I loved the whole experience. The history, the culture, and the physical beauty of these places was awesome. Once again Trafalgar got it right.

Amazing trip and excellent tour guide and driver ! Great memories!

This is a fast tour. There is an overwhelming about of history that is given. There is a tour everyday as well as optional tours everyday. The optional tours are a must! With that being said, there is not a lot of Down Time.

The itenary and travel director and Driver were extraordinary. No comparison. Most of the hotel qualities were below par. We enjoyed the tours everyday and it was a memorable experience. We wish the hotels will be little more cozy and comfortable even with any additional cost.

The shoe memorial is free and that part was very interesting and important to see. Also, I think the group size is too big. 48 is too many! You should cap the group size at 30.

Well organized tour with a great itinerary. We did several cities in 9 days. our tour director and our driver were both excellent. The hotels were good, they were not near the city centres but close to public transportation. The optional excursions were expensive but worthwhile. The Be My Guest was a truly memorable experience. We felt we needed an extra day in Salzburg in order visit more of the lakes and mountains incuding the town of Hallstatt. Overall we enjoyed the trip, met some great people and would definitely recommend it.

Our guide and bus driver were excellent and the hotels and breakfasts were great, although the first Munich hotel was in a boring area. The sites we visited on the itinerary were generally wonderful but instead of setting us in the high-end shopping district in Vienna on our first stop there, I would rather have been put in an area with more cultural or historical significance. Also, I felt that, although the add-ons I did were all great, it did make the trip pricier than I had intended.

It was good. We learned a lot about the history of the countries and the tour director was excellent. We enjoyed the trip and will recommend it.

This trip covers some of the most iconic sights in Central Europe. A great way to see a lot in a short space.

This was an excellent tour, beautifully organized and let by Trafalgar and our wonderful tour guide and our bus driver . Communication was excellent throughout and all of our travel needs were taken care of. The sites we saw were beautiful and interesting and given extra intrigue by our local tour guides. I would highly recommend this tour!

Trafalgar needs to rethink the local guides! While in Prague - we were so disappointed and disgusted by our tour guide Andre! Not only was he dressed, unprofessionally with cigarette hanging from his mouth- his vulgar words about American police officers and the Jewish community were absolutely appalling!

Saw so many sites on this tour! Our tour guide was WONDERFUL! We decided we wanted to see as Much as we could, so we signed up for ALL the excursions, of which there isn't any that we regretted. We enjoyed them ALL. My only suggestion is that maybe you should add a day to the tour, to see more of Vienna. I feel there is maybe more to see there. We added on an extra day in Munich at the end. The hotels were lovely. My only complaint was the pillows at "Leonardo" were awful.

Excellent itinerary, tour director and driver. Enjoyed every minute. Having free time in each place was wonderful, and made the tour more relaxed. Hotels were great with good facilities and easy access to everything. Budapest hotel had the best view! Local guides were amazing, which made the walking tours so interesting. This is a perfect tour to cover this part of Europe and we would recommend it 100 %

Great itinerary. It was nice to stay for 2 nights in most places. Guided tours and optional experiences were amazing. It was jam packed, but it would have been nice to have a little more leisure time- maybe a longer tour.

Make the optional tours more affordable,or instead include on the tour itself. Hotel more clean,and free insect, no hot water 1 of the hotel Saw one live insect crawling on the my room I'm one of the guests have bug bites, or insect bites, Tour guide doesn't care. Coach bus must have first aid. Water dispensing for the drinking, especially the hot weather on this tours Just right, if you can beat more affordable prices like Gate1 Still i refer to my friends.,they want the price lowered. I purchased some optional tours, I wonder there's an additional $87.00 No further explanation for the amount?

Excellent city tours for each stop with local specialist. We participated in most all of the optional tours and it was so worth it and enriched the tour. Travel Director was great, fun and very knowledgeable through out the tour.

The trip was great. The itinerary was was great with plenty of free time. ********* was an awesome tour director. He was so fun. Belazj was a great driver with his own unique sense of humor. This was my 3rd trip with Trafalgar and I have to admit, this trip surprised me with how great it was. I really thought last years trip would be hard to beat. This years trip was a dream. The views, especially the Eagles Nest, were spectacular.

The itinerary was great. What I love about Trafalgar is that they pack so much into the trip that you’re never bored. Sometimes I do wish that we had a little more time in certain places. However, then you probably don’t see as much.

It was really good especially the tour director and the driver . It was a bit hectic at times, but all in all good.

Lots of things to see and lots of walking on the front side as you are going from capital to capital. On the back side, beautiful views with a bit less walking. All of the optional excursions are worth paying for as most include additional meals, great experiences, and things to see.

This was a fabulous tour! Be prepared to be busy and to get a taste of many places you'll want to return to in order to spend more time.

We were 3 generations - granddaughter, daughter and grandmother and this trip was well liked and special to each of us. The pace was perfect for us. We loved the variety of excursions so consequently took them all. They added a lot financially to our trip though many meals were included. Our weather for June 5-15 was a perfect combination of a little rain, overcast sky and pleasant temps except for one day of high heat. The motor coach, guide and driver were all great, as well as, the extra guides throughout the trip. We loved the variety of the activities and really looked forward to them each day. The hotels and food was well chosen. 3 people in a room for 2 was cramped but doable. Sometimes not enough towels were provided. All in all, I would highly recommend this trip and Trafalgar. This was my 4th trip with Trafalgar and they did not disappoint ever. Thanks for a wonderful trip and lasting memories.

What a beautiful trip! So many memories and great photos! There was a lot … so hold on.. but was a trip of a lifetime. Munich, Prague, Hungary, Vienna, Salzburg… enjoyed the history and cultural experience… thank you for a wonderful trip. Would do this trip again!

We enjoyed this trip so much! The options were fun and worth the additional costs, the tour guide was entertaining and gave historical insight for every destination. Hotels were really nice! Love the make travel matter experiences, it’s one of my favorite things about going with Trafalgar Tours. This was our second vacation with the company and we will definitely use Trafalgar again!

Nice coach bus. Tour was very organized. Local tour guides ranged from good to excellent. Hotels were nice. The tour director was very organized and helpful. I do need to share that at the end of the tour I was glad I did not have to get on a bus again for a long time. It just got tiring needing to get on the bus for everything.

Must give detail and times before charging options, as they change from what is on the brochure, 2nd on the Salzburg trip we were on the bus over 10hrs for those who purchase the option, perhaps go to hotel for break before continuing to option instead of using public toilettes all day long or add a night in Salzburg. Good customer service from director and good driver. Thank you.

The itinerary was great. Lots of nice places and history to see. You get to know several cities and countries in 9 days and learn about their culture, history and food.

This was our 16th trip with Trafalgar and I can honestly say that this was up there with the best of them,if not the best. We took all of the Optionals except for one which we had done on a previous trip. When coupled with the included activities it was a full itinerary which is the way we like it. We learned so much about the history and culture of the places we visited. Our Travel Director and Driver were excellent and worked well as a team. The optionals were well chosen and I would highly recommend taking them all. The local specialists were excellent and provided valuable extra information. Hotels ,with the exception of the last one were all very good with good buffet breakfasts. We were aware before starting the tour that Trafalgar were going to have difficulty In booking the usual finishing hotel as this was the same night as the European Champions league football final. This would have limited the choice of hotel for the last night.

Absolutely loved this tour of Imperial Europe. Once you combine all the optionals with the included activities, you had the most beautiful rounded journey from Munich, Prague, Budapest, Vienna and back to Munich. A total of 1518 klms of breathtaking moments.

The trip duration was well-planned, offering just the right amount of time to get a meaningful glimpse of each city.

The itinerary was just what I was looking for. It took me to the cities I wanted to visit and was arranged in such a way that we were traveling no more than 3 hours a day while showing us places we hadn’t anticipating visiting before this trip.
