Highlights of Morocco

An absolutely fantastic trip. Morocco is a beautiful country and we really felt like we saw a lot of it in just 9 days. Our tour leader Mohammed really brought the culture and the history of the country to life, and we enjoyed the warm Moroccan hospitality that the country is known for. The local people and tour guides that we met were friendly and welcoming and very passionate about their country. The Sahara Desert experience was incredible and definitely the highlight of the trip, although Fes was a close second! Really looking forward to getting our next Explore tour booked up.

The trip allowed me to see a lot of Morocco in a short time, the downside of this was we didn't arrive at our accommodation with enough time to wander around so I think if an extra day was added to the trip if would be good. I feel you need to change the accommodation in Fez as it was small and not particularly clean

Great tour, our guide Hamid was really knowledgeable and personable. The lunches with locals were great. Loved the falls, the medina and city tours, and the desert experience. Only 2 complaints. #1, showers in most of the hotels were hard to use due to the hoses being inadequately mounted. The one in Fez was really poor, combined with the shower curtain being 2 short the floor got more water than my body. #2, some days we spent TOO much time in the van. We did have adequate rest stops, Hamid made sure of that!

An excellent tour seeing key locations in Morocco. The long drives allowed us to experience the beauty of the countryside - sensational in several locations. The tour leader Hamid was an experienced tour leader who was full of fun, kindness and local knowledge. The highlight for me was riding a camel in the Sahara Desert at sunrise. Actually they are quite nice clean animals.

The tour was as mainly advertised. Highlights - camping in the Sahara and seeing the sunrise over the dunes. The souks in Fez and Marrakesh. The classic architecture. Visiting the nomads. Visit to the Roman ruins at Voubulis Downside - accommodation - Some of them were very poor - dirty and not maintained at all. I don’t expect western standards but would settle for clean bathrooms with fittings that fit! Long hours in the bus without air conditioning Trip notes - not always accurate eg., Todra gorge is NOT a 2 hour walk as the trip notes say but 15 minutes. The guide - Hamid was good but like all guides never quite says how far or how long something will take.! He was fun, helpful and knowledgeable. He introduced us to his wife and children which was a bonus The guides in Meknes/Fez/Voubulis and Marrakesh were very good

This was a good trip for a first time visitor to Morocco. We toured on a circular route from Marrakesh to Fes to Erg Chebbi and then back to Marrakesh. There were a number of intermediate stops en route. The guide Hassan was excellent and had a very thorough knowledge of Morocco. He provided a briefing at the end of each day on the plan for the next day. The trip involved a lot of time spent travelling in the minibus with a number of 8 hour days which was necessary to cover the distance involved.

Good trip, with a fantastic guide, great driver, and a great group of fellow travelers, some great places to visit, the drives were very long and they were not for me personnel, the group, off which there were 12, at least 6 were ill at some stage, and I was ill at airport leaving, which was a great shame.

An amazing jam packed tour, seeing different cities with enthusiastic local guides is great. Many panoramic views for photography enthusiasts. Some long drives but then you get to know your fellow travelers.

Good tour to discover the highlights of Morocco. Fast paced but well organised trip experiencing cities, villages, mountains and desert. Good value. The heat important after early June.

This was an amazing trip. We really felt like we had seen all of the highlights of Morocco. The tour guide was exceptional. Mohammed went out of his way to enhance every experience we had by introducing us to local people and added bits to the trip that weren’t on the itinerary because he was catering to our interest. Without doubt it was his knowledge that made the trip so special. It is a very full on trip if there is a lot to see in nine days but well worth the travelling. Our driver Abdul was also an absolute gem. Some of the roads were quite basic, but we always felt safe with him. A great trip.

We had a wonderful time and our guide Mohamad Mazoz was great. The trip was fast paced and he did a great job of keeping us on track and maximising our time in Morocco through great organisation. We enjoyed the mix of the old cities, mountains and desert combined with great food, history and architecture. A highlight was the camel ride for sure! There was lots of driving but it meant you saw plenty of the country and how it changed from place to place. We will definitely be back in the future to explore the coast.

Wonderful small group tour of inland Morocco from Medinas of Fes & Meknes, to Sahara desert camp to historic fortified town of Ait Ben Haddou. A few early starts and long journeys are well worth the effort. Really felt I 'd packed 12 days of experience into 8 days. A fascinating and beautiful country of warm and good-humoured people.

Morocco is a stunning country with a diverse and memorable landscape. Although some days were spent mostly on the bus ( Morocco is a large country) there was always something to keep you occupied through the window. A big thumbs up to our guide Hassan who was very approachable and laid back with a nice sense of humour.

A very fast paced itinerary so be prepared. I found the standards of accommodation slightly below par but perfectly adequate. I personally found the ‘picnic sites’ a lot to be desired. If you have a camping cutlery set I would pack it. Our Tour Leader was excellent. Friendly, approachable and very well organised.

Morocco is now a full on tourist destination. There are tourists everywhere! Explore has provided a varied itinerary but there is no getting away from the TUI crowd. This is very different to when we visited in 2005 when the tourists were mainly concentrated in Marrakech and Essaouira. Explore's the hotels are, in general, quite a distance away from the centre of town making exploration during free time difficult. On Day 3 we visited both Meknes and Volubilis. It felt very rushed ... dissatisfying as it was a tremendously long drive to get there, only to be rushed around. All-in-all it was a good trip. Improvements to the itinerary can be made to allow more time in the medinas i.e. slower guided walks through so that we could appreciate the atmosphere and perhaps a little banter with the locals.

Packed schedule allowing you to see the best of Inland Morocco. All types of landscape, mountains, terrain, forests, lakes, desert and waterfalls. Islamic and French influence with Berber’s culture and Berber’s language. Sahara’s experience- best of the best. The group leader and the driver - well done for staying positive, energetic and calm and focused at the same time. My first time in Morocco and I loved it.

Varied fast paced tour of Morocco. Amazingly beautiful scenery and wonderful architecture.

A fantastic time seeing the highlights and learning about Morocco. Superb Leader and a friendly group of travellers. Will be booking more holidays with Explore.

An excellent trip. You cover a huge area and see so many interesting things. Our guide was friendly, informative and fun. So many highlights including the desert camp, riding across the desert on a camel, seeing the waterfalls, and a great group of people to explore with.
