Reviews of our Morocco Tours for April
Feedback from guests who toured Morocco during April.
A really great trip, one of the best I've been on with explore (over ten tours). Some long days of travel, but well broken up with coffee/toilet/photo breaks. Guide Nabil and driver Abdel both excellent and communications all great. So many highlights - Fez medina, the sand desert, Ait Ben Haddou and others - you certainly get a lot of experiences for your money. A couple of the hotels a little tired and/or noisy, but nothing to complain about - some were very nice indeed. Food good throughout. Thoroughly recommended.
The trip was very well organized with a great many different experiences….city, town , desert and mountains. Some of the drives were long between sites but our tour guide Mohammed kept us occupied with lots of detail about Moroccan life. The chance to visit two families one in Chefchaouen who cooked and serviced a meal in their home was a true delight. Our cooking class and then dining on our results with a family in Essaouira was very informative and no one left without a true appreciation of the cuisine of Morocco. The accommodation in the Riads was beyond description especially the ones in Rabat, Fez and Essaouira. The breakfasts were very adequate and the suggested choices for lunches and evening meals not included in the tour price were excellent especially the seaside restaurant in Essaouira. I can’t imagine anyone not enjoying this trip unless walking over rough grounds i.e. ancient steps, broken pavement, cobble stones and dodging mopeds, donkeys and delivery people with big carts in the medians would be difficult otherwise book this trip and enjoy Morocco for all it has to offer.
We saw so much of Morrocco on this itineraray. I would definitely recommend anyone interested to take this tour. Loved the Saharra and authentic Berber visits. The food was good, the hotels were good. I would however like to suggest a lot more time to shop in the medina marketplaces. We were rushed through them and only allowed to shop at designated, curated places such as the carpets, ceramics and fossils. That was very disapointing.
The itinerary is comprehensive with a few unexpected experiences along the way. You see a lot in 11 days and I did all the optional extras and they were all amazing! You don’t get to see the famous blue city, but that’s ok.
This was my 1st tour and 1st time using Explore and I would highly recommend them! I love that it was a small group of 12 and we had a fabulous tour guide, Mohammed! He shared so much of his knowledge and experience with us that it truly made the tour a wonderful way to visit Morocco! Although the highlights were many, having the last 3 days and nights in Essaouria, with lots of free time to explore or do nothing at the beach, was a great finish!
We saw a good sample of Moroccan life in the week that we had. The hotels were good, not luxurious, but comfortable. The guide explained things clearly. The bus driver was very competent. One local guide moved too quickly for most of our group during a tour of a market. Most would have liked to look at some of the things for sale. Another local was hired just to keep track of us and tell us when to turn because the speaking guide was so far in front of the main group. The Berber tea pouring ceremony was interesting.
